Your wife is a lucky lady !!!!! We love husband who gardening Halo from Pennsylvania
I LOVE A MAN THAT GARDENS .....
LOVE THE MUSIC ....SO CHILL.....
It's one of my favorite plants to grow. I love to just sit next to them and take great photos of all the insects that hang out on them.
I use raw garlic as a all natural antibiotic. It works pretty amazing. When I'm getting a cold I make immune boost tea 1 cinnamon stick 1 crushed garlic clove 1 tsp sliced ginger 2tbs honey and 1/2 a sliced lemon steeped covered for 10 min it always makes me feel better. I'll have to try adding some of this.
"One thing done every single day". Yes that helps, then often leads to one more thing. Good advice. Birds also feed on the seeds.
😂 I was thinking the same thing
An object in motion tends to stay in motion!
Ditto on the "doing one thing every single day"🤯. I get frustrated, thinking i need to do it ALL on one day.
Echinacea is my absolute favorite 😍
I live in Alberta on the Canadian prairies and we easily grow this plant, it even grows in colder areas where it gets -40 in the winter. Mine came in a wild flower mix, I feel lucky this grew from a random seed!
Wow now that’s my type of plant. Easy to separate and drought tolerant and medicinal with pretty flowers. 👍🏾🪴
I'm in NWArkansas and it grows wild here, as do dogwoods, redbuds, yarrow, daisies and bee balm. I planted a new echinacea last year and it stayed small like 1st year perennials do. But it flowered at CHRISTMAS!!!!
Hello from Canada. I love your enthusiaam for gardening your neat little tips and trips and so much to learn even thought I am an avid gardener myself. Thank you for this lovely short video. I have two different tyes growing. plants I paid a whole bunch. they are in a shady part of the garden . Gets sunlight ( west facing. As they are still 1 yr olds i cal them my newbie babies. Buds have formed . waiting to see what colors they are. I ha multiple strokes so did not garden much for 4 yrs. Now the love of gardening brought me full back to my fadening. Love everything abt gardening. thanks for all your videos./ A huge thumbs up to you.
I so appreciate learning from your shows. Gardening makes me happy. I love growing things.
Yes, gardening makes me happy too😀
It is now mid-June and I have been doing one thing a day all spring. Dan, you are right! My garden is the most beautiful it has ever been. Thank you for the great advice!
I envy the soft soil you have. Mine is hard as concrete. Every hole I have to dig is a strenuous effort.
Wood chips & compost !
I hear you! I'm in N.H., "The granite state". Every hole has pebbles, then stones, then rock. To plant some of my perennials I have had to use a crow bar to get the rock out first.
Easiest way is get big loads of arborist chips and spread them-at least several inches- on top of the soil where you want a bed. It will take a season or two for it to breakdown, but the earth underneath will become much softer. I dug individual holes for seedlings after waiting only a few weeks, added compost and was able to grow a lot of things in my first season of Back to Eden garden beds. Keep adding layers every season. Great no till method, and works very well. If you lay stuff down in fall, you will be very happy in the spring, and so will your back.
I grew mine from seed. It was wonderful when they finally came up, one of those gardening moments. I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about, that ‘pure joy’ moment. Just love them! I haven’t divided them yet but will after watching you show us how. They are long lasting as a cut flower and add a unique texture to an arrangement, you can also remove the petals if you wish and create even more of a textural feature. Versatile little plant. Thanks for all your great content. Watching from Sydney, Australia
The American Goldfinch LOVE the seed heads. I enjoy watching their acrobatics while they land on top and SWING AWAY back and forth while using their beaks to pry loose the seed. Little bundles of sunshine in the garden! So many good reasons to plant this.
Thank you for the inspiration! Every day I do just one little thing and notice the increase in the little insects and the pollinators. You are such a comfort and an inspiration. And the echinacea is an exciting plant that I will try this year. Still a bit cold here in Feb but he days are getting longer in the Pacific northwest! Thank you again. You make my day!!!
I love the tips... especially the cardboard box one, because I save them all for some reason. Now I have a use for some!
Cardboard box?
@@noeldeal8087 to put you in! LOL
I always have to throttle my enthusiasm to dig up and separate echinacea. Gotta keep some big plant bunches in tact or no blooms that season. Leave them alone for a few years and enjoy first. One of my favorite plants here in Kansas City.
used to had purpurea before moved to Ecuador, here everything grows. Love that plant, this time I will make tinctures of the roots!!! Thanks, you have a beautiful garden!
Garden season, wow, I remembered harvesting plums ( one tree only) in my sisters garden. Eating while harvesting them, hahaha.
Just found this channel a few days ago and instantly subscribed ! Love it ! As an herbalist of 30 years, Echinacea is one of my favorite get well herbs, I have it everywhere ! I use It as a tincture or grind it and use it in capsule form and it works quickly. FYI, if you are going to use this wonderful plant take it 14 days on the 14 days off as it can build up in your liver. However, drinking a full glass of reverse osmosis water helps your body absorb it quicker and lessens the chance of a build up. It really is a wonderful plant ally ! Again, really love your channel and so happy I found it !
Wow I dropped coneflower seeds yesterday. I had no idea it was echinacea! 🤣 Thanks for your great informative videos
Mine is getting ready to bloom. It’s been regrowing for years. Hello from Texas!
If .I had soil like yours it would be wonderful. Love Hollyhocks too.
I’m in zone 3, in Canada, where a week of 40 below in winter is pretty standard, but these are perennial in our area...even in the chilly river valley where I work in the golf course. We have a number of them. Zone 6 must be all the garden centres are willing to guarantee them for (they are often ridiculously timid).
Never enough coneflowers! I plant more every year - this is year three. And a happy 4/20 to all!
Hey Plant Abundance!
I moved from Texas to upstate New York (Zone 5!) and this echinacea thrives up here! So it's not limited to zone 6, you can add zone 5 to your recomendation.
We're in Ohio and iij grow it just fine here in zzz's one 5b
Echinacea purpurea is actually native to the prairies of MN and the Dakotas, so it is quite hardy (to zone 3). Many of the beautiful new cultivars are not as hardy though.
True, im growing a ton of it in Duchess County
Wow! My mouth hanging open at all the little rooted plants in the small clump! Thanks for the reminder of the beauty of ecchinacea!
HI from France gardener 🌍🌼🌻🌺
First time growing, I can't wait to see how they will turned out
Oh, would you make a video on how to make the echinacea? That would be amazing! Thank you!
Ty for your videos... very helpful to this new raised bed Gardner!
Ha that beep beep noise, I thought it was my phone, great info thank you 🌺
I’m growing some from seed. I had no idea this division could be done.
I used to grow it! Thank you for the reminder!
Getting one thing done in the garden is my motto as well
Thanks for the echanacea hints. Perfect timing for me!!
your garden is a true joy to watch!!
😹😹I remembered I planted some yeas ago and did cut flowers from them they dried out in the vase and still sit there on the display unit because even dried out they look pretty I think I will see if they will grow from them as they doo look dusty now 😹😹😹😹but mine are mixed colours from purples to reds, yellows and orange in colours 😊😊😊as we are going into winter I will clean the flower heads and see how many seeds I can get for next spring 😊😊
Always with the inspiration. God-bless you my friend.
I started some from seeds from the Dollar Tree and cannot wait till they flower! Thx for the tip on putting them everywhere in the garden. Would love to see a video on how to make your cold remedy elixir 👍🏽
Nice score at the dollar store! Check the links in the description box to see how I make tincture. Cheers!
One of the first plants i wanted for my garden. But the slugs seem to love them too. Yours look flawless!

I planted some root balls of it recently. Hope it comes up. And im so glad I'm not the only one who use branches and logs as border edging lol
I use branches and logs to build beds. It looks good. 🤷🏼♀️

Always very useful! Thank you. God bless you.
Agree with you 100%, my hubby and I we won’t get cold, between echinacea and also oregano oil, never fails
New sub here from the UK love your tips🤗
This is a timely video. I am in zone 6a and I started echinacea last winter sowing and the year before. It has come up and I can't wait to see the flowers. I will be putting them all around my garden in the very near future. Abundance is right!
Thanks for the demo. I wouldn't have imagined you could get such good roots for each of the little seedlings, and get so many new starts from one plant.
Finally bought one yesterday. Think there were more starts in the pot! Thanks for the info. Was not sure if I could divide them before this video!
Thank you. I just planted echinacea seeds.
Thanks for all the great content, very useful.
AWESOME!🌻
❤FROM DALLAS TEXAS
Thank you again for what you teach. Really like your hat.
Thanks for sharing .Not only beautiful but also my vegetables would love that for their benifit
Great tip about the cardboard boxes, that would work great for my little babies! It'll help keep the bunnies away from them and as they soak up water, help keep the little pots moist.
Thought the vid was over, thanks for making me watch the very end!
Thank you for the info, much appreiated!
I live in Western Mass in a zone 4b/5a and Echinacea purpurea grows here no problem.
Love your soil nice and lose looks rich too. Gosh beautiful garden.
Thank you, the timing for this video is great!!
I’ll do this by this weekend!!
I enjoyed your video!!
I love all the information I get from watching your videos. Thank you from Lawton Oklahoma ❤️
YES! Loved this and the music.
Thank you for showing us how to divide that plant. I planted my first one last year. Looking forward to spreading it around. 😊
Happy Earth Day! 🌿
Thank you for the great video! ❤️❤️❤️
Nice! I love the pics at the end of the video! Nice touch
Mine is in its 3rd year and has numbers of buds!
You are an inspiration to me I am always amazed by. Your video s Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the great video. 😊 How long does it take from seed to full size? Also, will you be open to posting a video to a resource on how to make tinctures remedies!? Thank you Bless 🙏🌺
I was about to tear some of mine out as they have spread so well. It’s considered a native plant to central Illinois. My milkweed is spreading too, though it was hard to start. Happy gardening folks. Plant dill family plants too. Help our butterflies thrive.
I don't have either one of those plants but I plan on it. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the info about the
plant.🌹🙌🌹🙌
Have a blessed Day 🌹
Enjoyed this video, I have never grown echinacea. I need to find a plant for my front yard. I like the way you use logs and branches as borders and barriers.
I think I’ll take on this mantra. Do one every day in your garden. It is full of wisdom . Just at least one thing a day !!! Thanks sir for sharing your wisdom.👌😊❤️😘
😭 Was excited to hear what the one plant was and I'm grateful you got right to it and I didn't have to wait until the end to find out. Echinacea is the one herb I cannot have as it is not good for people with MS. 😭
Check out the movie Living Proof. Just in case it can help you w MS. I watched it on Netflix’s. A 2017 winner for documentary in Canada or something like that. :)
I am growing the same variety of echinacea, had it growing from seed since last summer. Looks pretty hearty for my SC hot, dry summers. Very informative video.
You Rock. God bless y’all.
I'm so glad I Came Upon This video as a new Gardener I look for helpful tips. I like this and I feel like I was just schooled by Indiana Jones and I'm liking that too great video and Im also liking that hand tool and hat 👍 I'll be back.
I’ve been wanting to grow this!! Thanks Dan! You da man!
Really enjoy your videos and learn so much. Keep up the great work.
Great video, I started gardening a couple of months ago. Love the information.
I have echinacea purpurea in my Zone 3 garden and it’s been coming back for at least 15 years.
Eating a handful of red clover makes me feel amazing as well.
@@poolman8676 gonna try one now.
@@poolman8676 amazing! Like a broccoli with honey inside! Wtf!
@@poolman8676 I’m still in shock that it tasted that good.
Thanks.
Thank you
Thank you so much for all your good advice!! I’m glad I found your Chanel few weeks ago!❤️🙌🏽
Aààaaaàaàà, to
I really appreciate all the information. I'm new on grow equinacea, I plant last year a capuchino Indian summer variety and at the same time stated from seed echinacea purpurea from a seed head on my mother's garden. I love this plant but I wasn't able to grow it before due to a hardy weeding and digging brambles from the soil and improving my hardy clay soil. The cappuccino one is gorgeous this year. Lots and lots of buds and five big flowers opened at the same time. Looking forward to the coral and the scabiosa coneflower. ( I love this echinacea with this pin cushion center and this crisantemun like petals all around).
Your all sharinges are wonderful.
love 💕 Gardening
I started some from seed indoors this year, it’s about an inch tall already. Usually I plant the seeds in the garden in the fall. It’s one of my very favorite flowers and the deer won’t eat them. Thanks for sharing.
☮️-Kirsten
I have to look into coneflowers now. Thanks for the advice!
Beautiful soil!!...👏👏👏
My echinacea transplants always seem to be grumpy, I'll try again when the clumps get a little bigger. Seed grown, however, seems to work great! Also highly recommend rudbeckia daisies / black eyed susans.
I love echinacea - planting more this season (I'm in Ohio)
I’m in Michigan and come flowers grow great here
I bought 3 little coneflowers off of a clearance rack, 20 years ago. They often re-seed themselves, and grow wild in my yard, in Ohio. I love to see the finches (gold & purple) eating the seeds from the cones later in the season. They are well suited to our climates in the mid-west.
That is so cool!
Watching from the UK 🇬🇧. Thank you for sharing. I shall try growing this in my garden. England has a cold, wet, damp climate. Hope it blooms for me.😀
Lovely and interesting video presented with great charm....
