First time actually watching a whole karate combat fight. Really interesting. Great showing. I love the fact there's no obstruction to the view. The inclined is such a different element to deal with. I like it👍
Best part of KC is the respect and honor. You and Bruno both fought with all of your hearts and you both recognized that in eachother. Great fight. Even greater fighters. Well done Varga on bringing home the win 💪
Brother I know, when I clicked on the I signed with a promotion video I jokingly thought Karate Combat. But when it became reality I was so hyped for it.
I really appreciate your breakdown, and your unflinching analysis of things you do right and wrong. Also, especially in today's day and age, looking at the sportsmanship between you and Bruno (who seems not only like an absolute WARRIOR, but like a super-nice, great guy as well) is something I can show to my students as a reminder of how they should treat their opponents. Oh, and a VERY happy Canada Day to you from down here in the States. Have a great weekend and thanks again!
I also noticed Gabriel that you learned really fast about the difference is between a kickboxing ring, the cage and the pit. I think you did very good. And anybody in the comments that thought you were just going to walk through your opponent after 2 years of being off during a pandemic is bad 💩 crazy.
I think a good alternative to adding ropes or a cage to protect the audience would be to have the pit IN the ground rather than on top, that way people can watch from up top like a stadium and it gives more of a gladiator type vibe. That and I'm a massive Baki nerd so fighting in an actual pit gets me more excited than it should 😅
Impressive fight and great opponent, and the pit adds some very interesting “ring” dynamics, those counter kicks from the takedown are unique to the incline of the pit, not something you could do on ropes or a cage, very interesting to see something new. Definitely want to see more of this promotion.
And to add, what I really like about you Gabriel is how humble and self-aware you are as a fighter. I can’t wait to see you compete when your well used to the format
That was a very entertaining fight. You shook off the initial ring rust very well, and Bruno is an entertaining fighter who's always game. Looking forward to the detailed breakdown!
You did really good Gabe. Especially that it's in a new discipline and in a new type of setting. You are the best fighter they have by far. Really proud of you champ. And I appreciate you mentioning the channel and the community that you built here. Because we really support you Gabe. And i would support anything you do in your life even if it wasn't fighting
New discipline? He has a karate background if I remember correctly from such a disclosure in one of his videos (edit: that video might be more recent than when this one was released)
6:57 was so weird, the rule is if you reverse the position like you did that the 5 second timer gets reset. therefore you should have been able to implement your own Ground and Pound on Bruno if you so choose. But Goddard stood you both up and this happened before in the Omaira Molina fight too.
I hope that doesn't this happen again in the future since the existing rule allows for more fluid and interesting grappling exchanges. Instead of it just being one fighter just trying to survive for 5 seconds everytime they get taken to the ground.
Well yeah it's debetable if it should've reset because you can see from the timer that it was about over 5 seconds before Varga got Assis to the ground.
Congratulations on your first win in KC, maybe it be the first of many, congrats to your opponent too, alway love to see two warriors respect each other after a match
awesome debut!! so happy to have gotten to interview you after one of the last times your brother corners you! such an honor, see you next time. let's goo karate combat
Gabriel varga sincerely speaking I watched the whole fight at karate combat and you were the best and most intelligent striker and fighter ever in that pit,I actually think that none of the fighters there are even up to your caliber or level just that you are a really humble person or monster if I may say
I have to say I think the way they have the sides at that angle is kind of stupid. Because both Fighters are in there fighting your hearts out and you're going to be tired when that bell rings and then you have to run up that hill and expend more energy. I know it's not a huge incline or that long but it's still energy you're expelling, just going to your corner. I think you did really well. And the fact that you can adapt and learn as you're fighting says volumes about you as a fighter. I also really enjoyed listening to the commentators talk about you and tell everyone how many achievements you have in Combat Sports. You deserve the acknowledgment and all the love and respect Gabriel
You’re an inspiration to Canadian martial artists like me and so many others there isn’t as much Canadian representation in combat sports as of late I ya great tk have such a great ambassador
Mate, great to see you go...you can really fight and your boxing is on-point. Congratulations on the "W" and thank you for the upload. It's my first exposure to Karate Combat and I liked what I seen. Onwards and upwards mate.
Thank you Gabe for taking us through the fight. Glad you had a safe trip and your home with Rachel. Look forward to seeing your videos on a regular basis again and to see you back in the ring or the pit
Awesome fight and happy to hear you talk about it! Bruno is a fighter that I really enjoy watching so the fact that he was your first opponent was fantastic. Looking forward to hearing your analysis of the fight!
Thanks for all you do and congratulations on your win. You help me further my knowledge of martial arts and have helped me increase my kicking game to another level. Thank you for all your hard work and determination and I wish the best for you.
Congrats Gabriel! You showed class here, I'm sure that having a clearer understanding on what to do with this ropeless pit and your are a Karate Combat Champion.
Man, I was so stoked what I saw you were joining Karate Combat and I was right to be. Love your work, nice fight...I think Karate Combat is only going to go up in popularity.
I was just planning to search today to see if you had fought yet. When I pulled up RUclips your fight was at the top of the page! 8-) Love watching and learning from you Gabriel!
Brilliant performance under the circumstances. Well done dude!! . . You walked him down until the end . . Fucking Terminator stuff sham!!! . . Best of luck in the future.
what a fight!!! Two warriors competing their skills with ultimate respects, what a sight to see, this is why I do martial arts! Damn inspiring!!!!!! Give me chills
What a great fight. I’m not a big fan of karate combat but I have been watching your fights for years and using your fantastic videos to help teach students l. I’ll definitely be watching your fights in this format
I tuned in for you And was pleasantly surprised I am very impressed with the promotion I think this will create a new generation of full combat karate fighters coming up. You can tell that a lot of these fighters are point fighters they are kind of awkward but extremely dangerous
At least some composure and precision in karate combat! I knew you would bring this. When he was throwing his wide right cross I was surprised you did not move left and "blow his head off" with your own right cross. Waiting for the breakdown. Congratulations Gabriel!
Im also new to Karate Combat, but it looks awesome. Feels like I was watching something like Bloodsport with Jean Claude van Damme. Good luck on your fight tonight mr Varga! Rooting for you.
Completely off-topic but their set designer used some awesome techniques from Italian renaissance theatre to create the illusion of depth with that background of the bustling city street! That is the best set of ANY combat sport promotion!
Wow Gabriel you did great dude that was awesome especially for your first time in karate combat with all those new rule changes, get out of here, honestly though how do you remember not to throw these different moves like knees, the ground combat differences, and also the separation parts…. I don’t know blows me away but you did so good dude awesome.
Nicely done, congrats on the win! It was cool to see your adjustments in the 2nd and 3rd rounds 🙂 And much respect to Bruno Assis for putting up a good fight, too 🙂
nice fight from both of you - i think 2nd round was the knockdown as you deffo dug in your fav left body shot and he kinda colapsed 5 seconds after . Good to see you back competing
I enjoyed this commentary; it was pretty cool of KC to give you the footage to break down. Looking forward to seeing you in action again Gabriel, cheers o7
Nice fight! I really enjoyed it. Close first round. You got him in the 2nd and dominated the third. I like how you went after his leg in the third round. You could tell he was getting tired and it looked like he was having trouble moving at the end of the fight after all those leg kicks. Awesome, entertaining fight. I hope that you do more. Thank you for posting!
yeah, I really don't see why not. they teach it as Kihon but then prohibit it in rulesets. I am not fully content with the ruleset because it still hasn't reached the full karate spirit in my eyes.
One big reason they should allow knees is with the throws and sweeps they allow people are ending up in the clinch all the time and it looks super awkward without knees
@@joshuabrant3487 I think the problem is if you add stuff like knees and elbows the fight will become more like Muay Thai since that's the optimal way to fight when knees, elbows and sweeps are a threat
You are so experienced and it shows lol This fight was to me was brains vs brawn you are extremely well diciplined, you got all your techniques drilled super well
Back to competing after over 2 years off! I'm very happy with the return and will have many more exciting videos coming this week.
Well done brother & congrats 🥳 on win! I watched it
Well done Gabriel. Good win.
Congratulations man, great performance and excellent attitude as always
Congrats on the win!
Congrats 🌯
Great job, Gabriel. The boxing looked crisp! Also it's very cool that Karate Combat understands the value in letting you use the footage.
u are everywhere on martial arts youtube
heeey nice to see you here :D
@Reaver Of the Legacy that's exactly what happened lol
bro you are getting your ass kicked in that self defense competition lol
$KARATE TO THE MOON.
First time actually watching a whole karate combat fight.
Really interesting. Great showing. I love the fact there's no obstruction to the view. The inclined is such a different element to deal with.
I like it👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hope you check out some more Karate Combat 👍🙂
I would love to watch wonderboy vs Gabriel in karate combat.
Most of the fights feel kinda cringe for me cause the "boxing" is to bad. Welp, ain't gotta worry about that with Varga👍
Best part of KC is the respect and honor. You and Bruno both fought with all of your hearts and you both recognized that in eachother. Great fight. Even greater fighters. Well done Varga on bringing home the win 💪
I’ve literally thought before, “Man I’d like to see him in Karate Combat.” I can’t believe it actually happened 😄
Brother I know, when I clicked on the I signed with a promotion video I jokingly thought Karate Combat. But when it became reality I was so hyped for it.
It was really impressive to watch that kind of kickboxing pressure in a karate fight.
Great Job Gabriel!
I really appreciate your breakdown, and your unflinching analysis of things you do right and wrong. Oh, and a VERY happy Canada Day to you from down here in the States. Have a great weekend and thanks again!
Congrats champ all of us were waiting for this moment.Even bigger wins are waiting for you
I also noticed Gabriel that you learned really fast about the difference is between a kickboxing ring, the cage and the pit. I think you did very good.

Yeah, it really looks often you want to throw your knees.
Yes 🙂
I definitely had to hold back on those.
Maybe we will see them added to the rules in the future.
Good fight.
Never really followed Karate Combat much but will do now.
Interesting commentary.
Beautiful striking brotha,
Impressive fight and great opponent, and the pit adds some very interesting “ring” dynamics, those counter kicks from the takedown are unique to the incline of the pit, not something you could do on ropes or a cage, very interesting to see something new. Congratulations! Awesome intro fight. Karate Combat will now be more exciting!
This is actually way more technical, crisp and entertaining than a lot of headline pro boxing and mma. Super cool
Karate combat is not paying you enough.
You are a great amassador and marketer for them.
You are right I also felt the same way and said the same thing to him,his there best fighter for now
New discipline? He has a karate background if I remember correctly from such a disclosure in one of his videos (edit: that video might be more recent than when this one was released)

Congratulations Gabriel, great fight!
the way you both bowed at the end is a beautiful show of respect 🙏 and the real deal, honor, and Valor much appreciated.
Awesome fight and we’ll deserved victory. Round 1 was up there and you kept it razor thin for having it be your first round back in 2.5 years!
Gabriel varga sincerely speaking I watched the whole fight at karate combat and you were the best and most intelligent striker and fighter ever in that pit,I actually think that none of the fighters there are even up to your caliber or level just that you are a really humble person or monster if I may say

Damn, he hit you with that hip throw like he was doing a drill. Hope you get some grappling/judo/wrestling training in.
You’re an inspiration to Canadian martial artists like me and so many others there isn’t as much Canadian representation in combat sports as of late I ya great tk have such a great ambassador

Glad you like the look of it. I was super impressed with the promotion.
I enjoyed the fight so much. Excited to see more of your fights in this organization!
After two years, your come back is impressive. Bravo from 🇫🇷
Thank you Gabe for taking us through the fight. Glad you had a safe trip and your home with Rachel. Look forward to seeing your videos on a regular basis again and to see you back in the ring or the pit

Enjoyed that, really like hearing you commentate your own fight, makes it even more enjoyable and interesting.
Congrats for great debut, we waiting for Gold belt 😃👍.
EXCELLENT! CONGRATULATIONS VARGA🥋 “FOR EVER CHAMP” 🥊
Congrats Gabriel! You showed class here, I'm sure that having a clearer understanding on what to do with this ropeless pit and your are a Karate Combat Champion.
Congratulations! Excellent fight! Your opponent was strong, but your experience shined through! Great show!
Man, I was so stoked what I saw you were joining Karate Combat and I was right to be. Love your work, nice fight...I think Karate Combat is only going to go up in popularity.
Great fight. It's good to see so much skill in two fighters, and the respect given
I was just planning to search today to see if you had fought yet.
Dude you are so fun to watch. I love the sportsmanship too. Thank you for the breakdowns.

What a total badass! Congrats Gabe, that was awesome.

Congratulations on your win, champ!
As an older fighter, finding purpose becomes a job after a life of fighting. Seeing this is motivating. Thank you
This is awesome glad to see you doing this
Respectful opponent for sure I peeped the end.
You represent the kickboxers with good way so much respect brother
At least some composure and precision in karate combat! I knew you would bring this. When he was throwing his wide right cross I was surprised you did not move left and "blow his head off" with your own right cross. Waiting for the breakdown. Congratulations Gabriel!
Nice display of hand techniques - that surely got you the win. Would like to see you do more sweeps and throws, and more head kicks.
The foot sweep with follow up punch(es) must be a familiar technique...
Karate Combat is unironically one of the most exciting promotions right now.
Bruh you beat an amazing fighter, loved watching bruno's fights, can't wait to watch you take home that karate combat belt
Karate combat looks awesome! Nice fight Gabriel, looking sharp brother!

Omg I haven't watched your channel in months and now I'm finding out you're ok karate combat?? Hahaha that's awesome. You're awesome Gabriel.
I do like that style of ring I have to say, looking forward to the breakdown
Edit: The hammer fist after he swept looked like the culprit for the cut
that pit side kick is a thing of beauty
Community is stoked for you to be back, congratulations and thanks for the content.
Nicely done, congrats on the win! It was cool to see your adjustments in the 2nd and 3rd rounds 🙂
And much respect to Bruno Assis for putting up a good fight, too 🙂
nice fight from both of you - i think 2nd round was the knockdown as you deffo dug in your fav left body shot and he kinda colapsed 5 seconds after . Good to see you back competing
Congratulations, I've been watching you for a few months now, I love your comments and commentary, so honest and accurate. Thanks!!!
Gabriel you the champ bro! Happy for you
Congrats! I'll be waiting for more videos like this. I like that pit a lot. It's really cool
Great fight and sportsmanship. Well done!
Amazing brother Huge respect
Love the mutual respect at the end of the fight keeps it a competition not a hate fueled bar fight 👍
I enjoyed this commentary; it was pretty cool of KC to give you the footage to break down. Looking forward to seeing you in action again Gabriel, cheers o7
i always like when a solid fight ends with displays of respect and sportsmanship
Great job! Thanks for uploading this with your commentary, much appreciated.
Congrats, Gabriel! One of the most nice-to-see combats in FKC! Go for the gold, champ! All the blessings with you!
The sportsmanship shown in the last 20 seconds was class 👍
Your hands are on point, sharp and clean.
you was great since i watch some of your fights i fall in love with your style you did very good good heart hope the best for you
Gabriel’s boxing is actually very crisp. That front kick… 🔥
I love you for doing this man.
fantastic to see you back in action! gratz on the win!

this is a cool set up actually very original with the slanted sides. congrats on the win
Congrats for the with and debut 🥳
Whats up Gabe I"VE been waiting for this man!
Great fight! I'm really enjoying watching Karate Combat
I liked the way you commented. Very fair with a lot of respest to opponent. Thank you
Fight looked really fun man, congrats on the win and hopefully you get to a title contention!!
Karate Combat has an interesting rule set, but i think that they should add knees, i think it would be interesting
Agreed!

Damn, you're treating us tonight. Wasnt expecting you to do the video so soon.
🍿🍿 I was hoping you'd upload this
Congrats champ! So great to see you in action!
That arena completely throws off the fighters backing into it
