It's funny how each members dueling style represents a business/work tactic
Gansley-Having an overbearing work force that you can easily remove members
Crump-Radical ideas that shape the mantra of the company
Johnson-Shady business practices that are often swept under the rug
Nezbit-Losing your self identity and becoming full time both in body and spirit, aka becoming a 9-5 robot.
Lector-The endless pursuit of money.
Slifer, the best Executive Producer
actually crump would be the pervert
Gansley sees everyone as expendable in his quest of power, Crump desperately clings into a passion that makes him weak, Johnson tries to trick his opponent to cover up his weak standing (the boss monsters were pretty weak), Nesbitt is a terribly singleminded perfectionist who only foster a single idea while neglecting or discarding the rest of them, and Leichter the pragmatic simply does whatever he can to beat his opponent no matter the cost high as it might be to himself.
@@rogerwinters4958 Actually Crump would be, PENGUINS.
@@rogerwinters4958 the HR nightmare
Their dub names actually come from real life 4Kids Entertainment employees. Jamie Leitcher, Melanie Crump, Sarah C. Nesbitt, and John Gansley.
That’s why LittleKuriboh called them “Team 4Kids” in the Abridged Series.
Let's not forget that when they ritual summoned Mystic Dragon, they failed to meet the requirements. In the dub, it is stated that they needed five monsters of different attributes and used their Deck Masters as tribute. However, Nightmare Penguin and Deepsea Warrior are both water attributes.
Whoops
Late reply but, deep sea warrior is a light attribute.
Penguin's a WIND in the anime. That's all.
@@jeremyperez1075 ...what the f*** kind of obscure video game did you dredge THAT up from?!
Yet used the trap card to change the attribute of all their monsters to the needed requirements.
Even if the Big Five weren't deleted by Noah they would have died anyway when the missile destroyed the computer creating the virtual world.
PENGUINS! PENGUINS! *Pause* PENGUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINS!
Giwan Tang I can see Crump and NicoB being best friends tbh
Izzy Astra And Crump Is Like The Yu-Gi-Oh Version Of Batman's Penguin Or Oswald Copplebot!
Mmmmmmhhh penguins
Giwan Tang I FUCKING LOVE PENGUINS!
GrantR STOP SAYING PENGUINS
I like how Nesbitt is the only one of the Big Five that actually succeeds in taking a body.
ArcticFlame7hd SnowFlame AND still lost
@@Bostonterrierslol Yeah that is true but it doesn't change the fact that he was the only one that got the job done.
@@Bostonterrierslol Well he was playing a 3 vs 1 duel, I say beating one and almost beating the other 2 is impressive
He was dueling the Yamchas.
I know these esipides are very old. Still my favorite duel of this series. Being a machine duelist myself. I was expecting more from his deck. I want that clock work night card though.
The duel with Nesbitt is one of my favorites.
It’s my favorite too, perhaps it was the 3 on 1 duel or just his machine talk or just the fact he looked super freakin cool!
Gainsley sounds like the embodiment of the "high IQ" meme.
Leichter was actually a pretty good duelist imo. Prob cause he just the best deck master
Yeah I agree he gave kaiba a good duel
Gansley is decent too...
Nesbit was my second favorite but definitely the weakest. He made so many mistakes in the 5 on2 duel.
@@onn8166
Tristan and Serenity made more mistakes in that duel, though.
@@mystery8820 no that was the 3 on 1 duel. The 5 on 2 is big 5 vs yugi and joey
Not just because of jinzo, he also played a pretty sound strategy at the time could waves used in the early 2000's
Well, they at least used Tristan in the plot for once.
Something that actually makes Capsule Monsters worthwhile: IT ATTEMPTS TO ACTUALLY USE HIM.
I still wonder about that uncut japanese footage of Capsule Monsters. It might legitimately be good or even just decent enough and we just don't know.
@@lpfan4491 If I recall, Capsule Monsters is completely 4Kids based and wasn’t produced by Japan
@@mechadoggy It was produced by the same studio tho. They even list it under the name Yugioh Alex.
@@christopherb501 is cool
These guys are so weirdly realistic looking for an anime like Yugioh. It’s just uncanny...
Not gaylly
Probably why they had them duel as monsters instead of themselves
They look like hentai villians
@@ashskullz Fantastic joke
Nesbitt:The reason they had that 5v2 duel at the end
Also the reason Joey was able to help yugi win
samurott nesbitt's also the reason the big 5 lost; had Johnson kept dueling, with judge man's deck master ability they would have won
Can you imagine if Judge Man had that deck master ability as its special effect? Would see alot more use in play.
"taking turns to use his body" XD lol
Adrian Randolph Crump III
Surprisingly the only one of the Big Five (as of this writing) to have a full name in the dub.
Also, the only one of the Big Five (as far as my knowledge goes) to have a middle name in any version of the series.
I'm surprised to know that his father and grandfather share his name. Rather fitting for a higher-up business man.
Kaiba: and I think I'll fire that guy, that guy, that penguin, that other guy, and Lector
prolly could of gave leichter something to do in the company at least....
@@rednovastrum2475 ye
Ahhh the Tea episode, for some reason they made that specific episode have really good art quality especially Tea's plot
One thing I noticed while rewatching the original series is that Tea has several ass shots compared to the other female leads in the other series.

Good work mate.
The "Lei" in "Leichter" is actually pronounced like "Lie".
It's German for "easier". :)
Hope you enjoyed! This episode felt like it took ages to make so please smash that like button!!
Thank you to all the Patreons once again for supporting the channel!
All the best!
TGS Anime Yay more quality content
Could you please do Bandit Keith next?
TGS Anime: Can you do the Evilswarm Deck Archetype I would love to see that. And can you do Yuri profile from Arc V.
TGS Anime can you do Aporia?
You are amazing, you deserve the love and support of the Yu-Gi-Oh community! Happy Mother's Day! :)
the one thing that always intrigued me about the second arc is what would've happened if the big 5 had succeeded.
does the whole thing turn into a slice of life show with a bunch middle aged to elderly japanese businessman in the bodies of teenagers? if yugi lost what would that mean for the pharoah? how would noah & the big 5 deal with marik?
well actually according to Noah in the original dub, there was no chance for them to return to the real world as it was virtual so even if they did win and get the bodies, they wouldn't keep them.
@@animeknight8958
Noah is an even bigger cheater than I thought. He was never gonna keep his word.
His "Mokuba as a human brainwashed shield" tactic is proof of that. A complete sore loser.
@@mystery8820 well think about what happened to him; because his mind was still a little kid back in the virtual world, he never knew how to grow up. And his lost his family's company to a stranger.
@@animeknight8958
As stated by Atem, he never matured at all.
Also, despite the most logical solution of building lifelike androids to live in the human world again (Mokuba mentioned that in the aftermath of the duel), Noa sorta implied that isn't enough. He needed to prove to Seto that a digital being like him is the ultimate genius. So there's that.
@@mystery8820 Well think about this.... let say you were the heir (or heiress) of a muilt-billion-dollar weapon company, but you lost it to someone not blood and your mind was also in a virtual world. How would you feel?
I personally loved the big 5 as villains. And the virtual reality arc in general, it was the first time where we saw monsters dueling and it was awesome to watch! Nezbitt and Lector were always my favorites, maybe because they were the best duelists and the coolest looking.
finally someone else who loved these guys ! I always thought I was the only one :D
This virtual reality arc would have been perfect if it was placed after the Battle City tournament with the Ishtars going home directly to Egypt a different way while everyone else, including Mai, goes home by blimp and gets captured by Noah and his crew. Otherwise, we have the awkward scenario of the Ishtars waiting around and Mai unconscious with no one to care for her.
@@mechadoggy its best not to think about it. but i agree that it would have been better if it took place after seto's defeat and mariks, since they were on kaibas fathers island, it would make sense how they got trapped. but then it would ruin pharoh winning against marik.
@@AndreNitroX “but then it would ruin pharoh winning against marik”
That’s like saying the arc where Yugi, Joey, and Mai had to rescue Seto Kaiba in the virtual world would ruin the pharaoh winning against Pegasus

Mugiwara two of them wanted to take teenage girls bodies... It is little sick
Anna Mrl I could also take that as simple desperation they needed bodies ya take what you can get
TheKpa11 the robot guy wanted Serenity's body 😂
@@anna.owo. its nesbitt
Never thought of it like that as a kid. Nezbitt was always my favorite and I’m sure he wanted Tristan’s body, since he looked like him the most.
LMAO, I was so mad when they cut from the Battle City Tournament to show this filler, but it end up being 1 of my favorite arc and pump up my favorite character in Kaiba as a True Threat to win the Battle City Tournament.
One of the highlights for me that entire arc was Yugi's duel. In the sub, his opponent actually notes the differences in how Yugi himself approaches battle vs the spirit (tactical vs aggressive). It also doesn't hurt that little Kuriboh insists on nuzzling him affectionately :)
That's odd, I don't recall a middle aged British Man acting as Yugi's deck master.
It's the Penguin perv.

They appeared in the virtual world in cyberspace by Noah planning to get to earth as a disadvantage lead by the madness by the sins of the kaiba clan came before the big 5 who adopted seto and his bro.
Imagine if these five came back as the villains in a 4th season of VRAINS. Not only would it be hilarious to see them try and update their deck and duel properly, it would also be a good way to start easing Yusaku into dueling for fun again!
And Nezbitt was was the only one who lost his first duel by having his deck master destroyed.
And yet he succeeded at the end to take Tristan's body
0:25 Wow. Kaiba have exodia and ouija board F card
Here's another idea for a Yu-Gi-Oh video; Discussing the cards used as a Deck Masters, and ranking them from worst to best.
You didn't mention the unique cards the Big Five used when they all control Tristan's body.
The big five were already working on duel links since the early 2000s. crazy
Five headed dragon!!! Hue hue hue
4:01 i sure do love reading
Is it just me or these Big Five's deck master skill sounds like a precursor to Yu-Gi-Oh VRAINS' Skills in Speed Duel?
MrGameutopia1 considering how many times characters used magic powers during duels I wouldn’t be surprised if the writers were just waiting to justify it
Gansley's monsters were weird looking or just plain, I kind of like them
I love all of these suits in tristans eye to gether
I find it hilarious that the big 5 learned a children's card game to take over a business by force
okay so what is the name of the music you use when you tell a character's backstory cuz i want to know?
Would love more bio vids like these of other characters
I came up with a new Yugioh pack. It's called "Escape from Virtual World", and it would have the Kaiba Corp logo on the pack. The cards will consist of the virtual world cards that were used by The Big Five, Yugi/Atem, Joey, Tristan and Noah. Along with the monsters from Duke's Dungeon Dice monsters that weren't made into real cards. The Big Five cards are Gansley: Ashingray, Yowie, Ruklamba the Spirit King and Rainbow Snake Eingana. Crump: Defender Iceberg, Ocean of Regeneration and Revenge Sacrifice. Johnson: Leading Question and Sinister Justice. Nezbitt: Recycling Plant and Short Circuit and last Lector: Mask of Perplexity, Altar of Mist and Dragon Revival Ritual (switch the ritual version of the Five-Headed Dragon for its fusion version and send 5 dragons each with a different attribute). Yugi/Atem: Rainbow Blessing, Joey: Burning Soul Sword and Arduous Decision. Tristan: Command Angel and Rare Metal Soul. And for Noah: Aeris, Last Tusk Mammoth, Deepest Impact, Giant Flood, Ice Age Panic, Next World, Chaos Barrier Field, Ground Breaking, and Vessel of Illusion. There would also be cards based on monsters that were used as Deck Masters and their special abilities.
Imagine a continuous card that lets young per turn for just 1000 lp nuke all your opponents monsters even during their turn, that’s cyber punk 2077 broken.
Sam I can't wait to see who you cover in the grand finale of Yu-Gi-Oh character profiles. I still think after that you should do character profiles for other card game anime. Because Yu-Gi-Oh is the tip of the iceberg for this genre and there's some other series I've heard that I would like to see you cover after the Yu-Gi-Oh character profiles series ends. For more information on what else you could cover I HIGHLY recommend you check out the What Happened To series by Negative Legend.
Gansley was really interesting in the original Japanese version. Instead of being about business, he was all about ancient wars, constantly reciting proverbs from war generals about war tactics, and his dueling was based on those war tactics (particularly, about how defending is easier than attacking and that the best thing to do is to maintain the status quo, hence his whole strategy is just about playing weak monsters with nasty effects while he lets his opponent do the attacking until his opponent has nothing left anymore). Which makes sense, considering Kaiba Corporation used to be a producer of weapons of war.
2:18 my inner 12 year old had to chuckle
Their duels were interesting (Johnson was the cheapest one)
It was the first time where I saw monsters dueling and it was awesome!
Penguins and great video Sam keep it up
I think Darkness the wicked might be the knight referenced in the the flavor text of Serpent night dragon.
We all know Slifer is the Executive Producer
Who else realised when Kaiba showed his cards he had parts of exodia
That was an abrupt start
OH YOULL FIND OUT IM ABOUT TO SUMMON IT
TELL ME!
I loved all of these guys, most of my friends thought they were boring old farts, but they were actually some of the most realistic people in the entire anime.
They were realistic at least in terms of looks, no crazy eyes or hair or anything
@@mechadoggy also in general though: you could probably visit a few big companies out there and stumble across people like them
They had every right to be made at Seto Kaiba as they did all the dirty work for him when he went against Gozaburo and then he simply betrayed them. This especially goes for Leichter, who practically helped raise Seto and Mokuba when they were children and was at one point the one of very few people actually close to them.
What is the name of the first background music playing?
(8:22 & 8:28) We can assume one other fusion deck monster from these two: Labyrinth Tank, which requires Giga-Tech Wolf and Canon Soldier as material.
OH NO A WILD PINGUIN AS APEARD !
These are the Big 5 who I nickname them with and to easily identify them through appearance:
Gansley: chubby one
Crump: creepy one (mustache guy)
Johnson: cheater with the glasses
Nezbit: Hot headed one
Leichter: respectful one and uncle-like figure to Kaiba and Mokuba (bearded guy)
Oh yeah these guys were in the legendary heroes, and Noah Kabia saga
Lecter is the only one of the big five that can actually duel
Make a kaiba video please ❤

Crump: YAYYYYYYYYYYY
did schroeder corp have executive versions of big five because kaibacorp and schroeder corp are rivals.
Oh Sam do Leon, Zigfried's brother, since his cards are getting printed.
Lecther sounded like Michael Rooker.
Out of all the members of the big 5, i like Nezzbit's design the most
I wonder if they'll add the big five to duellinks
Perfect machine king more like perfect cell
But the Robotic Knight guy is a awesome duelist

I rather liked both of those filler arcs. They have issues but the Virtual Worlds are rather neat.
It was always the coolest arc to me maybe because of the sci fi theme
