Michael jackson invaded the 80’s with his thriller (83) and bad (87) albums. Not to mention his off the wall album released 1979. Madonna started with her self titled album in 83, followed by like a virgin (84), true blue (86), who’s that girl (88) and like a prayer (89).
That’s why, they were the best selling male and female artists of the 80s 😊

Artists would release singles from the same album in the same year, so it should come as no surprise that several songs would hit the charts within the same 12 month period. It's how it was when albums and singles were released in physical form. Singles had to sell in the 100,000's to get into the top echelons of the charts, back then.

George Michael is up there with Freddie Mercury, Steve Perry, Michael Jackson, and many other as the best singer in modern history (imo). They all have such unique voices.

How nice it was to hear those hits again. I have the greatest sentiment to listen to your heart Roxette. I remember it was the first song I heard on a walkman I got from my dad as a kid, and Roxette joyride lived the first cassette I bought with my own money. I learned to dance in the lambadas in my parents' salon. Beautiful times and memories are associated with almost all of them.❤

There's no way I can choose a favourite from all these! I was 12 when the 80s started and 22 when they finished, so all these songs are part of the soundtrack of my life (even the ones I didn't much like at the time 😉).

Michel Jackson had 5+ hits from each album in 80's and 90's. Of course they were released only few months apart.
