He explained a lot in this 11-minute video - all good information. Like how he educates the customer. Let them know what a screen and coat can do vs. a full sanding. And, despite all the information he shared, there is still so much more to know for the homeowner who wishes to do it as a project. But it can be done.
The only thing that I would change from his explanation is that you do not need a seal coat, if you stain your floor. The stain acts a seal.

Two thumbs up! Our job is not to sell the client but to educate them to what the options are for their property. Keep it up!

I sand floors for a living. Murphys oil soap is the worst and all the other ones they basically dry out the wood and break down the finish. Love your content man!

What in the world are we supposed to clean our floors with? I stopped using Bona. Bruce stopped working. I am currently using Weiman hardwood floor cleaner, and it’s ok. I have pre finished solid oak flooring. It was pre stained and polyurethaned.

Fabulous job on explaining the difference between the two processes & the necessity for one or the other. Thanks for all of your efforts to educate us & share your knowledge!

thanks for this information, and taking the time to share info! Q: If an area rug is removed and the floor under it looks discolored, can a screen and refinish be used to even it out?

Very informative video. Would you recommend screen and re-coat to remove paint spills from Hardwood floors?

Informative video! Very clear explanation. Thanks so much! I also wanted to know, would screening remove paint (water-based) off of hardwood floors. Some of the polyurethane has been removed and some of it has not. On the hardwood floor that does not have polyurethane and has paint on it, will screening remove the paint? And also, do you have to use a wood filler when screening , or is that just for sanding?

Question 🙋‍♂️ if I don’t have the equipment to screen a floor, can I just use an aggressive floor pad like a blue cleaner pad? I’m not a hard wood floor guy, I know very little.
