    Hi everyone! Small changes can make a huge difference to your overall calorie intake. Don’t waste your calories on junk! Make choices that you enjoy, don’t deprive yourself and look for balance! We need protein, we need fat and we need carbs. It’s up to you to take a good hard look at what you eat and decide. What stays and what goes… most of the time! Thanks for watching ❤

    THIS! "You can have anything, but not EVERYthing." This is the mindset of success, rather than restriction. It is this weird scarcity mindset that gets people, but they can always get the next thing they want the next day if they really want it! Some days I crave more fat, others I crave more carbs, so I adjust macros so my calories remain pretty much the same. When people combine carbs and fat with abandon for a sustained period of time, they unravel all of their precious hard work. It's not worth it! Just enjoy each day for what it brings, and whatever you sacrfice today, you can eat another time :)

    • @ssuigeneris

      “You can always get the next thing you want the next day.” Great mindset. If you just permit yourself to eat whatever you want, it is easier to say no, almost like a reverse psychology. I can eat that, but I’ll wait until tomorrow to decide if I really want it. And then it’s easier to just keep the good track record going!

    I think all bodies are different. I am sixty 5’7 130 lbs. I NEVER weigh my food or count calories. I eat pastured raised bacon and eggs every morning with buckwheat bread made with three ingredients. I eat a diet rich of good fats. Lard, tallow, and pastured raised beef. I eat pasta and cream. Honestly I believe it’s the processed food that keep people fat and the crappy seed oils which cause inflammation. I know my farmers and I eat real food never processed or packaged. Love the video. I lost 50 lbs in 2016 and I’ve only maintained it because I know I have an addiction to carbs and sugar. I focus a lot of my meals around protein, and I really don’t eat sugar much anymore at all. I love High Protein salads and I eat a lot of yogurt also with some nuts or berries. I also I intermittent fast and that’s a huge saving Grace for me. It takes the food out of my brain. Someone asked me a couple years ago how I’ve maintained my weight loss and I said “it’s easier to not eat a donut than do 1 hour workout” 😂 I still walk and do some kettlebell workouts but it’s mostly my food choices that have kept me at this weight .

Ordinary tasks can bolster fitness (like gardening, playing guitar, etc.) by increasing core strength & coordination. Avoiding cheap sugary stuff is easier when you realize those who make & sell it usually don't care about your health. Also, it doesn't taste as good as better options. Crappy sweets prey on our laziness.

      Hi Jackie, thanks for your comment! I also eat lots of tinned tuna and I really like using low cal bottled dressings that you can find for around 30-40 cals/ 2 tbsp. Ranch, poppyseed and Greek are all really good. You can also use 0% greek yogurt that you thin down with lemon juice and then add some spices like cumin or one of the blended spice mixes like “garlic plus” or Parmesan herb. Tzatziki is a great option too! Instead of making the tuna or chicken into a salad and putting a scoop on top of your greens, sprinkle the protein on top and then drizzle the dressing over it all. That way you won’t be tempted to add more dressing onto the dry greens. Like Autumn said, you can certainly have mayo if you LOVE it and are very diligent in measuring. It is extremely calorie dense and 1 tablespoon is not very much!! I’m happy I don’t like it! Thank you Julie for suggesting Jackie watch my mayo video!🥰
      All the best!❤️

    Hi Mama Tenny, There is so much conversation regarding full-fat and non-fat. As for Greek yogurt, which is better? The full fat seems to keep you full longer but is it worth the extra calories? Great video. It's the truth, we sometimes hear too many ideas. 💕💕

    • @MamaTenny
      @MamaTenny  Год назад +2

      Hi! Always lovely to have you here. For me, I typically have my Greek yogurt for breakfast with flax seeds and chia seeds and nuts along with fruit. These 3 things add about 10g of fat so I don’t need the fuller fat version. True, on its own, the fattier one fills you up more but I don’t need to double up. Then, if doing salad dressing, for example, I’ll often add a bit of olive oil so I don’t need the extra fat there either. I’d rather go with the zero% and then add my fat of choice. 😊

      @@MamaTennyThank you so much for your time and knowledge. I eat my yogurt the same as fruit, seeds, and nuts. It's such a fine line sometimes that we walk and it can cause confusion. I'll go back to the "old way" and save the calories for something else. lol. Getting ready for a cruise next month so that will be a true test. 💖

    But every time I Google "how many calories are in X grams of potatoes" it always gives me a bunch of different answers and I don't know which one to choose 🤣

    I don’t understand how some of you beautiful, slim ladies my age only weigh 110 lbs. I’m only 5’2” and can’t seem to get under 120 lbs and I can only eat 1,100 calories per day to maintain that. What am I doing wrong? When I go onto a BMI calculator to see how many calories I should be eating to lose weight, it’s almost always 1,100 or less. It’s so hard to get enough protein much less have enough energy to complete my weight or cardio workouts. Help!!😥🥵

    So all it is is calories in vs out, even though the quality of food matters.

    • @MamaTenny
      @MamaTenny  Год назад +5

      Yes, but use your calories wisely! Get rid of the a”hidden” calories that really add up. Don’t butter your toast if you’re then putting on peanut butter or almond butter. Love toast? You’ve got to forget the potatoes on that day. Maybe the next time you’d rather have the potatoes? Then ditch the bread. Swap things that are alike (starch for a starch) making your choices on a meal by meal basis. One day you want avocado on your toast, the next peanut butter. Always keeps a good ratio of protein-fat-carb. ❤❤

    Great video, but genetics also play a role In weight maintenance? I have family members that at the age of 12 did not have the body you had at 20. So I suppose their physique and maintainable weight would differ drastically to yours?

    • @MamaTenny
      @MamaTenny  Год назад +1

      Hi Ronnie-Lynn! I can’t speak to her specifically, but sometimes it’s the family’s eating choices that are as much to blame. My family ate horribly! Butter on EVERYTHING, processed foods, low fiber, high fat, lots of sweets. That lifestyle is extremely hard to break if that’s what you’re exposed to from childhood. It’s what’s normal to you. So, is it genetics or is it diet or is it a combination? Bottom line still CICO! Thanks so much for your comment!❤️
