what i miss are brushes for finalist art comics and manga, ideal for hatching lines of motion textures for comics similar to what Jimmy reyes and Robert Mazulo use in their work, favoring a firmer and more stylized brushstroke.
I stumbled over one video that altered how I set up my sketch brush and now it's my go to brush for nearly all sketching. The settings are like this, I think I started with a sketch brush included in krita that on its own was a thin ellipse with a nice graphite texture. Then I made some changes: - Pressure controls opacity . To keep the ability to draw lightly and more pronounced with the same brush. - Tilt amount controls size . So I can shade with the stylus lying almost flat. And do tiny details with the stylus upright. Again, same brush. - Tilt direction controls the rotation of the brush. So with that one brush I can control opacity, size and rotation of a stroke without ever touching a slider or dial. I am probably late to the party but before I always thought I had to choose between letting the pressure control the size or the opacity of the brush. By letting tilt do the scaling and pressure do the opacity I could suddenly treat the stylus more like a regular graphite pencil. It was kind of mind blowing. Yes, it does hinge on your tablet and stylus combo being able to recognise the tilt and direction. But if it does, then I highly recommend trying this out!
@@KritaOrgPainting Not really sure where I'd share it. But looking at the preset filename. Very helpful tips, thanks a lot🙂. It would be nice if there was a setting that reflected the shortcuts on the right side. I'm left-handed, and pressing the shortcuts with my left hand really disrupts my flow. I found a workaround by changing a few combinations and putting them on my tablet. Then it was logical for me to put tool swap on Shift and O instead of Control and/, which I can't do on my German keyboard anyway.

Hi Ramon! Your video is so amazing that I wanna grab my popcorn to watch all your tips! 😂 However, I experience a brush lag where my krita suddenly freeze and start loading "freehand brush strokes". May I wonder on how to fix them? Thanks and good luck to your upcoming videos! :)
It's almost impossible to know what is causing this without working on your computer. Maybe the dev on Reddit can help. If not, I would suggest you try using one of the simple default brushes such as the basic ones and see if this still happens. There's an assistant tool in the tool shelf, and in the tool options you add what kind of assistant you want. After that, go to your brush, access tool options, and then you can toggle Snap to Assistants
When I'm trying to sketch and use gestures to rotate and zoom, Krita is recognising the hand gestures as pen stokes. Can this be turned off, so only the pen will creates pen marks?

Hello I have a question about the new "Reference Image docker." Is it better to use this rather than just paste in a reference image into a layer? I tried to use the new docker but it doesn't let me crop the reference image. When you are working on sprites or something you don't necessarily want the whole sheet of the 2D assets, so it would be helpful if we could crop the ref image. Thanks!

@ Oh, sorry I came off the wrong way! Some context: doing that clicking sound, then saying "nice" is actually a very popular meme that originated from a Michael Rosen video. Krita wants to be in Ipad too and is working hard for that but need Apple's aproval for using GPL licenses and more support too. If that happens the road it will be more open. Until that we have to wait. Ask Apple why :S //RM

How features in Krita specifically aid us in oil painting, watercolor, drawing, working on photos etc.
@@richardhaas1989 i take note
yes
You mentioned using drawing assistants to make perspective view in krita and make arts faster. How can I access those assistants?
There's an assistant tool in the tool shelf, and in the tool options you add what kind of assistant you want. After that, go to your brush, access tool options, and then you can toggle Snap to Assistants
When I'm trying to sketch and use gestures to rotate and zoom, Krita is recognising the hand gestures as pen stokes. Can this be turned off, so only the pen will creates pen marks?
I don't see the Free Brushes link. Is it in the video description? Also could you make a video on how to import Brushes into Krita?
Link: files.kde.org/krita/extras/RM_Sketch_V1.bundle
How to import brushes: Settings -> Manage Resources, then click on the button that corresponds with what you want to import; if a bundle (like here), click "Import Bundles", if a brush tip (.abr, .gbr), click "Import Brushes", if a brush preset (.kpp, brush tip + all other settings), then "Import Brush Presets".

Thanks!
Then for that particular purpose i would use "Pureref" software. I agree references could be pulished a bit more. But is good for general purpose.
Thank you so much 🙌
Hi Ramón, do you mean to say that krita artists forum isn't the official forum for krita? it is the one the website directs me to....
How can I get that comic brush texture? And the RM sketch bundle is not opening, it is giving an error that file can't be parsed. What to do?
for technical support please go to krita-artists.org. There you can share screenshots and captures, and much more people can help you, even developers. I hope this helps. if not , let me know please. //RM
@@KritaOrgPainting Where do I find the comic-oriented pencil brush? It's not in my list. Nothing with that name whatsoever...?
EDIT: Is it RM Pencil 2B? I wish you would just use the actual name in the video :(
How do i upload my drawing sketch?
You can go to Krita Artist page and upload there. Or simply use temporary image location services like pasteall.org ;)
Where can i share the krita drawings i make?
There is a krita subreddit I think that's a good place to start.
krita-artists.org and all the social media you have ;) //RM
Thanks to both of you. Thabks to krita a lot.
My Helper Always Appears As a Circle. How Do I Fix That?
i have a laptop with a built in mousepad, how do i animate with sound in 5.2 (I think it's 5.2 i can't remember)
5.1. The 1 is for the subwoofer.
I'm not sure if you covered this or not. It went kind of fast. I am looking for a tool that automatically fixes or straightens lines. Cleans them up. I have seen this tool on other programs but I have no idea what it would be called or where to find it in my Krita program. Thank you.
If you know what is the name in other softwares that could help . //RM
@@KritaOrgPainting she says its from Procreate and its under the drawing tools as Streamline.
Perhaps you talking bout stabilizer
4:07 did he just "*click* nice" us
I was referring that is nice to have the possibility of saving the combination of drawing assistants. A friendly gesture to give the video more natural mood. I do that gesture normally when I talk with my friends
@ Oh, sorry I came off the wrong way! Some context: doing that clicking sound, then saying "nice" is actually a very popular meme that originated from a Michael Rosen video. It seems this is just a coincidence, but either way it was really funny! I was just wondering if it was a clever little reference to the meme, it was unexpected but I got the friendly vibes, no worries :D
Hey Ramon, how did you made flow parameter always visible?
Settings/Configure toolbars... Then look for "Brush option slider 3" and move to the right with the arrow icon. click ok and done.
@ thank you Ramon. It worked.
Does Krita have an Instagram? I didn’t see it with the others.
instagram.com/krita_foundation/ yep! we have to reinforce that area too ;) In the next video i will talk more about social media. Thanks for the reminder //RM
Los 2 dislikes deben de ser de la competencia de otro sowftware que estan nerviosos de ver el avance de Krita 😀😁
Krita is so vast! I cant even use it to 1% of its potential
Are u bringing the Krita app on iPad OS?????
Krita wants to be in Ipad too and is working hard for that but need Apple's aproval for using GPL licenses and more support too. If that happens the road it will be more open. Until that we have to wait. Ask Apple why :S //RM
I really wanted my computer not to crash with Krita😭
If you have a crash and persist please report it or make a post in krita-artists.org explaining all the specs of your device and giving snapshots. All the softwares crash sometimes.. sorry but in Krita you help reporting to improve the software as soon as possible. //RM
You mentioned new options to draw in krita but you miss out big time telling me how to get there, what buttons to use, which menus to open and so on. Pay more attention to this lots of people will like that.
The helpers (Drawing assistants) looks very useful, but I can't find anything on Krita called either of those names :-( Any ideas, anyone?
docs.krita.org/en/user_manual/painting_with_assistants.html#painting-with-assistants let me know if works for you //RM
wow! a software that ,aby beats TV paint? :D
can anyone release a free krita-bush pack for PINSTRIPING ?
what version of krita is this?
strokesofboredom 4.2.6
He said 'Focus' .. okay!? You demons !!! 😂😂😂😂
It was hard for me to understand.
You have captions, if needed.
i want to paint 3d mesh too in Krita like 'Substance painter software', so please developers make Krita more powerful. #krita
Probably not gonna happen. Krita is mainly made for 2d.
Hola Ramón!
Awesome video and thanks for the brushes! it's been fun using them and they're very fast.
