Oh, I forget to mention one more thing. There used to be a brush engine: "Dyna". It resembled Dynamic brush tool, but it had more options in Brush settings menu (F5). But, they deleted this brush engine in Krita 4.0. However, if you are using Krita 3.3 or an older version, you can still access it.
Thank you so much for this video! I've struggled using Krita all because I couldn't find the Stabilizer Tool, its easy peasy in Sai but not Krita for some reason, just glad I found it so now I can use Krita more now & give Sai a rest. I'm subscribing to your channel for more Krita updates!
This was the most practical tutorial I could find that specifically talks about Krita. Other channels talk about artistic aspects which is subjective. And they don't bother editing as well as this video did! Thanks for the great tutorial :D
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this video. Reading the Krita manual wasn't helpful to me and I just felt lost poking around in the program. I found other videos, but none of them answered these very basic procedural questions that I had about lining, specifically. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Thank you for this wonderful video! It was so helpful. I have been using Krita for a few months now, and never figured out how to deal with lineart. Thank you so much!
These are quality videos, thank you for being so descriptive! This is a complete index on how to use the line art tools and will increase the quality of my work so much. Thank you!
I bought a Wacom tablet like 3 years ago and finally decided I probably should try to learn to use it. Krita seemed like the best FREE choice but every tutorial I watched just made me more confused and made my head hurt. After a few hours I came across your tutorial and I finally understand what the heck I'm doing! Thank you so much for the work you put into making this.
I love the great vector line tips! And yeah I'm the desperate one who wants to use vector lines 😛. I'd love to see if you have tips on quick coloring, like the colorize mask.
Thanks for the amazing video! I've been wanting to get into digital art for a long time and only just now started to actually pursue it. Your tutorials are excellent for building the tools and skills base beginners need! I'm keeping this video for easy access. ❤
wow this really helped me a lot. i like that your always on point with your tutorials. pls continue to make videos like this because it helps newbies like me. hope you can show how you do coloring next time 😊😊
For most purposes (even commercial) the new version of Krita is on a par with its expensive competitors-- yet its is free unless the user decides to donate to its creators (in Microsoft office, the donation is just $10)-- yet many people have not even heard of Krita! In any case, the new version (4.1.7) works smoothly in Windows 10.
Is it just me or is the stabilizer option a little choppy in Krita? When I put it in “basic” it is hard to keep a smooth arch/line in each stroke, then “stabilizer/delay” seems to delay too much on even 10px-20px. Am I understanding this interface wrong? I’m new to Krita and learning the interface of the software since I have been using Medibang/Sai for sketching/linearts specifically. Now that I want to expand further into painting which Krita is simple but good at. I still use my old Wacom Bamboo with an old laptop/win 8 OS.
I have a problem, i'm using Krita 4.4.5 and for some reason the thickness of my brushes don't change, i'm using the ink ones as you said in your video. Also, thanks for the tutorial!
owls please help. I just want to change the line colour of my sketch. Must I redraw the whole sketch in the chosen colour or can I copy the image to another layer and change the lines. There is no colour in the image. Just outlines.
this is a fantastic tutorial. however, weighted does do something. If ur a clip user, present or former this will be interesting: so about Weighted in Krita, its actually similar to Clip's smoothing option for pen subtools. only instead of 0-100, it goes from 0-1000. so the default setting is around 50 for the distance. thats like having a pen on 5 smoothing in clip. 5!!! thats not a pen, thats a pencil. its practically off. Stroke ending should be relatively low, you dont want that cranked, but you do wanna play with distance. when i changed distance to 10x times what i would the smoothing on my g pen in clip, low and behold, the pen became alot easier and more comfy for me to control while getting fairly smooth lines. so if you are familiar with clip and have jumped ship or keep both anyway. you want weighted smoothing and then you wanna crank that distance parameter to about 10x what you would want on your pen of choice in clip. So yea, have a nice day digital artists. hopefully this helps you guys, especially if ur like me and recently jumped ship to Krita seeing if it can seriously replace clip.
If someone could help me out, I just started using krita and i'm trying to get my ink lines to end really sharp and smooth like at 1:01 in the video. But when I go to brush settings and check and uncheck size options (again at 1:01) it does not change a thing and it always ends really round, and not leaving that sharp trail behind.
