Absolutely. Always learn from the best!
Good thing I've always been telling to children who are taking their study seriously.
"So you wanna learn English?" - then even if you think I'm a good teacher and adequate at it - learn the language from it's native users and you'll surely get better than me. I'm here only to show the way. You want to learn how to draw characters? There are not many good tutorials in Russian, and there are a lot of industry professionals who are sharing their experience with the world, but in English. So you'll get the best you can find in RUclips (with subtitles ofc) and get much better at English without even trying to. Of course you'll need some base like grammar but that's why I'm here..
I love the process of creation, but the only thing I'm devoted completely in this world is teaching.. got a little bit carried away but you get the point :D
Learning from people who are just a little bit better than you (because you think you'll never get better than them) is just wasting time and making extra stops on your neverending journey, isn't it?

If not for this tutorial I would still be blending until everything becomes a muddy mess and that perpendicular form line is a game changer for me. I've watched countless tutorials, and I understand that a lot of artist can't teach and often times they just do what they do and that works for them. It's just sad that a lot of beginners and even intermediate artists will tend to pay a good amount of money for tutorials that doesn't even teach the basics, but rather is just a demonstration, often times with poor explanation of how they do things that will ofc vary from project to project. No shame to those artists, they just want to make a living and ik they're trying their best, I'm just looking out for all my fellow new artists out there.

THIS is the Color/Painting class I always wanted to attend to back in my Fine Arts Faculty. I‘m telling you, I did 4 years of a Bachelor‘s Degree in Fine Arts and all my color subject classes never explained the right steps to achieve that way of color shaping and simplification, how to add color ambience, etc. Most of my teachers told us to start painting X and afterwards, corrected us, which could have been useful if we had clear fundamentals and an understanding process previously taught to us. Many of them were just subjectively teaching about complex concepts from great masters (Velazquez, Rembrandt…) without explaining how to get there, how to prioritize on our first steps into the canvas, etc. I did a lot of trial/error and of course that taught me things, but having the right guidance definitely can speed that process and provide greater results. Super well done, thanks!

In the first of this, moving to shapes was something I never had even thought about, and it makes sense now why working in 3D was easier for me than painting, because I never got caught up in the lines. These are so refreshing! After watching dozens of digital painting videos over weeks, it's nice to hear someone calmly go over the basics without any hype. I find the vast majority of "painting tutorials" are either:
    A) Someone very talented painting with very little to no explanation of what they're doing.
    B) Someone very talented painting, but they focus on the steps and not on the theory.
    C) Someone with a level of talent or professional experience describing things totally peripheral to painting, such as how to land a job or motivate yourself to paint.
Those can all be helpful in their own ways, but at the end of the day it's very much about the sort of core fundamentals you go over in these videos. I feel you apply similar skills to making videos as you do to painting; it's very often about saying less, not more, but making sure to say it very concisely.

Hey man, this is like the third time I have watched both of these videos and I wanna say that it has helped me tons to look at painting in different levels or complexity starting with value distillation. The way you lay it out makes it clearer to not worry about bringing ANY detail until the basics of the composition is nailed down first. It’s like you unclogged my vision or something. I don’t know, I appreciate what you do because I never would have taken the leap this soon and it has helped me find that just jumping into it was exactly what I needed to do. You have provided a way for to rewind a little so it feels like I’m building fundamental skills first. Now when I open a new canvas wether I’m doing a study or just messing around I feel like I’m not floating around in space like an inert piece of trash. Love you for that. ❤️

This is a very helpful tutorial, thank you for taking the time to actually explain proper terms and rendering techniques. As someone who's watched tons of art tutorials trying to improve, it was refreshing to see someone actually teaching and not simply recommending a blending mode or quick tip.

I love to think of the 2 value distillation as a pumkin carving. You dont want tiny details because you wont be able to show it well on a pumkin. Hope that helps someone out there!

Sinix never stop surprising for bringin a lot of useful, better, vital information to really push your skills beyond your current level. And the most amazing thing is that they're both so practical and theory-based, that you really can understand how the magic works.
Sinix, you really make a difference to us artists
