    I was fortunate enough to actually drink with the man. I showed up super early to a Motorhead show in 2004/5 and nobody was in the place. So my buddy and I headed to the adjacent bar on the other side of the venue and ordered whiskey's and beers. It was just us and the bartender. Some guy was playing pinball in the dark corner at the end of this long bar. He gets done and walks the long length of the bar and sits down right next to me, bullet belt, Iron Cross, leather jacket, boots and all. I always wore a .308 belt with tips (and sometimes 8mm shells with tips with M60 links) and leather jacket because of him and the Thrash scene. I didn't ask for a photo or autograph, just talked and drank with the man. I'll never forget that. RIP Lemmy.

      @@marcopoulin1897 , wasn't trying to be. That was my point. I could've been one of those douchebags who asked for pictures and signatures on everything but I didn't. Just drinking and talking with the man is all I needed. And he came and sat down next to me not vice versa.

    One summer night i was sitting on the northwest corner of Bleecker and MacDougall when I spotted Lemmy standing on the south east corner facing east but obviously lost. I quickly want over and asked him where he was looking for. He said he was headed to a bar on St Marks Place, i walked with him and we chatted about music. I told him Dead Kennedys and Crass and Conflict were my thing but i always liked Motorhead etcetc.He asked me to go for a drink or ten but i decIined as i was in early recovery !!! I had a big wad of $20 bills and asked him to sign one for me, he said keep your money and he took a dollar from his pocket and signed it for me.. Decent fella and very iconic rocker ... RIP

    I spent a whole evening with Lemmy. He was playing the fruit machine in the basement of the Embassy Club where me and my two friends had gate crashed a very famous musical composer's (no names) launch party. Lemmy was dressed in his normal tight jeans and cowboy boots, black tea shirt and bullet belt. I boldly went straight over to Lemmy and asked if he was part of the party and he answered in his his Northern Drawl "I don't know any of these f*****g w*****s I'm just here to play the fruit machine. We chatted for ages as he pumped the machine full of 10 pence pieces. He was the nicest, humblest bloke you could wish to meet. After what seemed like a couple of hours of chatting I said I had to get back to my friends and it was nice meeting him. He said the same. After about another hour, leather jacket hauled over his shoulder, he had the decency to come over and say goodbye stating that he had put £200 into the machine and that was his limit. A true legend!! Dave Colli

    Watching this makes me so glad that Motorhead penned the soundtrack to my adolescence. But more importantly - there's the message of true individualism running through Lemmy's conversation. Not enough people are secure enough in their own convictions to say things like he did. RIP Lemmy.

    The gentleman. Beautiful turn of phrase and pure soul. Even though his music wasn't at the fore of my rotation, I admire the man. My regret is not meeting him since I lived not far.
    Also think about that. Of all the celebrity out there, I can safely say I could meet this legend if he were still alive because he was a real person.
    If I'm lucky I'll end up saying the same or some other on all the vids referencing Lemmy eventually. They're so many after all.
    Cheers this man. Let us see this and let his spirit ring for many many years.

Too bad many people over-look this in musicians. @christian Andersson : Ironic comment considering your name is ' Christian'. Perhaps you should call yourself ' Athiest Andersson ' ?

    • @k.avilla8061
      @k.avilla8061 3 года назад

      @Christian Allen Why is it childish ? If you don't follow Christ, you should not be called Christian, because, that is what your name means. Sorry to break the news to you, but your parents misnamed you.

    • @k.avilla8061
      @k.avilla8061 3 года назад

      @Christian Allen Your argument is totally fallacious. By comparison, take the name ' Philip' . It is Greek meaning ' lover of horses'. If a man called Philip commented in an article that he 'hated horses' wouldn't this, given his name, be ironic ? In the same way, surely, if a man called ' 'Christian' said he hated religion, this is also ironic in a way in which other Christian names like Peter and John are not, because Christian actually means ' follower of Christ' . Peter just means ' rock' . It is doubly ironic, as ' Christian' as a given name is rare. I have never personally met a person named ' Christian' in the UK, it is that uncommon. I bet you've never personally met another named 'Christian' either. Now let's look at the ' logic' of your example of ' Elijah'. This also fits in the category of rare names ( in the UK, anyway). Elijah does not actually mean prophet, even though he was one. I wouldn't say that it was ironic that a person called Elijah wasn't a prophet, because, unlike Christians, where many still exist, we don't encounter too many prophets. HOWEVER, if Elijah wrote in an article on prophets that he hated or disapproved of them, I would then say, that given his name, this IS ironic. Incidently , If you respond to me, try to exercise some civility and decorum. Insults and curses make you look small and weak and is definitely ' UN-CHRISTIAN ' !
