One would assume within 5 years you will see a difference, because if there isnt then noone will vote for them again

If only Mr. Miliband would face reality. Britain needs it's own supplies of gas, oil and coal until renewables can be relied on all year round.
We have some of the best coal in the world under our feet, we have oil and gas. We should be using it until they are sure renewables are reliable, if at all.

Renewable energy means replacing all the wind generators and solar panels every 20 years and sending them all to landfill. More manufacturing, more waste and more pollution.
Making things a "Target" dosent make them happen.
We used to get given targets at work by Managers who didn't have a clue how to do our jobs. It's all bullcrap. These politicians shuffle papers and listen to so called experts who are pulling their chains. It's an opportunity for companies to make money. We have seen government projects nose dive so many times. Follow the money.

500+ years worth of energy in coal under our feet in the UK. Let’s keep it for a rainy day I guess.. why are we not using modern technology to make a revolutionised coal industry and burn it with no waste and make graphene as a final product?

I have a 3 bedroom house but live in 1 room with an oil filled radiator the same as the kids. We can't and wouldn't dare put the gas heating on in winter. And even though we don't they still bill us for thousands. Bullshit the lot of it!!! 😡😡😡
I ain't patronising and telling you how to live, mate, but why wouldn't you put the heating on? As you said yourself, you get charged anyway. The standing charge makes up a massive part of the bill, which you're still paying for even if you don't use it.
I'm paying about £78 a month at the moment on the direct debit, for gas and electric in a three bedroom house, too, and always have the heating on when it gets cold. Not blazing how, I just set the thermostat to 19c, which I find fine.

If enough people were willing to take action in a vote of no confidence in each Labour constituency or in at least the majority of them, they could be out on their deaf ears sooner than they realise.
Remember, Reform came second in well over 70 of the constituencies won by Labour and second in 98 altogether.They might do rather better if we had some by-elections.

So why do we import coal etc, why do we rely on goods made in other countries that have hundreds of coal power stations? What back up have we got when the last coal power station closes at the end of September, we. needed it last year to keep our electric going and it wasn’t even a bad winter.

Wind and solar will not help in supplying the heat to the most need this winter, the government has the responsibility to keep the power on. The most effective way is to gradually reduced coal, gas and petroleum along with the corresponding increase in wind and solar supply, not just shutting it down hopping everything will be fine that is just sticking your head in the sand.

I live in Lincolnshire. We already got plenty of solar farms & wind turbines in the area now they want to erect 420 pylons across the county to transport green energy. Apart from they will look an eyesore weren't we removing pylons a few years ago because they were supposed to be bad for health?.
