His wife was also involved in a fraudulent scam on some flats they own In Southampton.

Starmer missed a trick when he said people were facing rent increases of 10%, he could have said unless your landlord is the chancellor in which case it’s 17%.

Jeremy Hunt wants to be careful talking about coastal dwellings considering his portfolio has a number of multi million pound apartments where he has cranked the rental price quite heavily in a small space of time

He's a landlord of several properties. Including 7 luxury flats he didn't declare. Guardian did an article.
He bought 7 in a block, fairly recently, as a multiple purchase, coincidentally just before he declares that relief on multiple buys is benig abused and so will be removed. The equilvalent of insider trading(?) at best. At worst - blatant rigging of the law for self-gain.

Remember last year when this guy was saying to exercise wage restraint in relation to inflation to avoid a wage-price spiral (credibly debunked) but then increased the rents on his luxury flats by 18%? I remember...
+ then increased minimum wage by way more than inflation! Those on minimum wage do need the extra income though

Can anyone explain... it seems that when the houses of parliament is in 'plenary', with full attendance, the very room of the Parliament hasn't got enough seats (I see people standing up at the other end of the speaker). Is that possible? It seems unbelievable: the very idea of 'sitting' MPs is that they would have somewhere... to sit!! I am Italian and in no way we see anything like that in our 2 chambers.
