Steve! You are an amazing young man! It is so great to have you verbalize your well deserved excitement for your new castle. Also you taking the time and opportunity to recognize your wife’s “contribution” to making your dream become a reality. You definitely are a “chip off the old block” of your father. Your parents taught you respect for others, honesty, hardworking, and loyalty! Enjoy every second of watching your house become a home!
Thank you very much! That is very kind of you to say! I definitely understand that I wouldn’t be able to do something like this if I didn’t have a loving and supportive wife, and some amazing parents! I appreciate you watching!
The music at @21:15 I've come to know as the Steve Haus Theme Song 🤣 The house is looking fantastic! The smile when you see that view... I know the feeling!
Hi Steve, Enjoy this time, because you will never build another "1st house".Ours was almost 30 years ago and I still remember so much of it. I fortunately didn't have a couple of little ones to watch and I was able to be involved as much as I could. 2 things I might suggest. Framers love food, so don't feel bad about spoiling them with donuts and pizza. Very few leftovers 😂😂😂 I got up early one morning and made biscuits and gravy and did I ever score some huge points for that. If you get the opportunity with dry weather and dry subfloor, consider spraying some Thompsons or other water resisting material. No it won't waterproof things, but it certainly does help. Keep the lumber piles covered for sure. Yea, it's a small thing, but everything adds up. Have fun with this and don't be afraid of asking your lead framer for any suggestions he might have. He's done a lot more than you ever will and he stores away some good ideas. 😂😂
Quite simply, just an echo chamber of all the other positive comments, your videos bring to mind a line from a great old Billy Joel song, “Piano Man” paraphrased “I knew it complete when I wore a younger man’s clothes”. Documenting this part of your family’s journey with these videos, will be looked back on generationally with reverence. Another great video, thanks!
Steve, I just turned 69. I try to learn at least 1 thing new everyday, I didn’t know that the engineered I Beams had to be fire protected in a basement. Thanks my friend.
Those guys moving like a swiss watch. Spending time with the girls is important too. Getting them involved with the whole building/moving is important. Firecode entry doors are also a requirement. Its going to be a great home.
Those guys are very good! Especially working in the conditions they have been working, really making great progress! Looks like , as you said , you know these guys and their quality and speed... Very impressive! 👍💯
She deserves the world for everything she does and continues to do! She does so much for so many people and never asks for anything in return. She is truly amazing!
@ That’s why you chose her as your partner!! See, you are very wise! Nothing better in my opinion than a couple who take care of each other equally. Fantastic example for your sweet babies 😍
GOOOOOOD MORNING Steve!!! Sorry about your Steelers!! But at least your hours is going up!! WHOO HOO!!!…back when you were planning this build, I’d betcha you never foresaw shoveling snow off your first floor 😮… wicked happy & excited for Yinz guyz….the guys framing in those temps are bad asses & crazy 🤪 Keep posting/ videoing Love watching yinz house come together!! Have a day 😊
Hahaha the Steelers are mind boggling haha nobody really understands how that happened. But even tho it’s annoying to shovel snow, I’d rather have that then to have it be rain that soaking into the wood! Thanks for always watching!
Hi Steve. I'm glad you're finally getting to building your dream house! I've watched CWTH since the beginning. I wish your dad would mention your channel more often and keep a link in his descriptions. BTW, fellow Pennsylvanian here. Take care!
It really looks like a house - nice work! BTW: If you ever head to Cheyenne, WY, I have access to a private range and we can shoot out to 800 yds. You're welcome here any time. Your future home is looking good!
There are, but honestly they don’t move as fast as these guys. I know some Amish crews don’t do the same caliber and quality work as non-Amish crews, but I’ve known Chester for a while now and I know his work is excellent. So when he said he was on board, I knew it would be good and fast haha thanks for watching!
Please, please, please, as an old retired firefighter, while you are in the framing stage, install a residential sprinkler system. Do not believe the BS the insurance companies spread about these systems. Your beautiful daughter’s lives can depend on it. If you want to do your own research, look up NFPA 13 D. The standard for residential sprinkler systems.
I love watching an efficient crew get stuff done. That's why I watch Concrete with the Hauses, and it's why I'm enjoying this build.
My dad and I really appreciate you always watching! Thank you!

The lumber burns slower than plywood. The insulation is there to slow the fire
Very interesting!

Hahahahaha that’s funny. Thank you very much! How’s your house coming along?

I really appreciate the tips! I'll keep those suggestions handy for sure and look into the Thompsons! Thanks for watching!
That styrofoam shovel worked pretty nice there Steve!!!!
Hahaha it certainly did! Thanks!
Steve Great to see the hard work lead to you making your dream house come true🇺🇸🇺🇸

Wow thank you, that was an awesome way to put it!
Steve, I just turned 69. I try to learn at least 1 thing new everyday, I didn’t know that the engineered I Beams had to be fire protected in a basement. Thanks my friend.
I just learned that as well haha it’s to slow the burning of the plywood. Thanks for watching!
Steve you are so blessed to have such pretty supervisors.
I certainly am! Thanks for watching!

Thank you very much!

5:10 Lol, they just beasted up that steel beam using a ladder. That had to have tested the true weight limit of the ladder.
Dude, those guys are wild hahaha thanks for watching!
Framing a house is a beautiful thing to see. It generates good feelings. Remember those when the wiring and finish carpentry is going on.
Haha yup! Keep those good thoughts and feelings in my memory bank haha

As the bull began, as one vid ends, I'm ready for the next one. Going to be beautiful!!!
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy the build!
That is going to be one heck of a house. Looking good. Congrats.
Thank you very much!
It's lovely to see a happy bunny Steve ! The smile on your face is brilliant!
Thank you!
I think protecting the OSB from fire is about the time it takes to burn through, the solid lumber taking longer to burn through and fail than the OSB.
Bingo! I just learned that hahaha thanks for watching!
I am very glad and proud for you and your family in watching this new home being constructed.
Thanks, it’s definitely a dream come true!
Hey man looks great. I'm happy for you guys. RUclips blocked me from making factual comments.
Hahahaha dang, that’s rough! Thanks for watching!
@GunpowderandFreedom The next four years are going to be great.

Thank you very much! I appreciate you watching!
That is one helluva framing crew you got there, bud....
They are insane! I’m very appreciative of their work!
Steve other than cost is there a reason why you did not use Advantech subflooring and sheathing ?
Not really haha I kind of figured these guys would have it water tight in a few weeks so I figured plywood would be just fine haha
GOOOOOOD MORNING Steve!!! Sorry about your Steelers!! But at least your hours is going up!! It’s been a long and winding road, but it’s finally happening! We both really appreciate your support and always watching! I’ll let him know hahaha
The reason for that to be there is the fire will deterate will burn through in five to 7 minutes and have floor collapse. United Labotories listing
Thank you!
Looking great. 👍💪🥇
I appreciate it!
It really looks like a house - nice work! BTW: If you ever head to Cheyenne, WY, I have access to a private range and we can shoot out to 800 yds. You're welcome here any time. Your future home is looking good!

@@GunpowderandFreedom No expiration on our invitation. Come on out anytime.
Did you look into Zip sheathing vs Tyvek, Steve?
I did but I decided to go the tried and true route of plywood and tyvek haha thanks for watching!
That is okay
👍🏻👍🏻 thanks for watching!
Congrats
Thank you!
Are there any non Amish framing homes anymore ? I remember seeing framing crews everywhere back 10 years ago ! Now not so much !
