Steve's godfather was Les Paul, the master builder of guitars. He taught Steve a ton of guitar tricks! You seemed to really appreciate them! I agree, Jet Airliner, or Livin' In The USA would be great choices for your next Steve experience. Enjoy the concert! Space Cowboy is the name of what you called The Joker.
Steve Miller is a classic, and he should be headlining the show with Journey and Def Leopard, c'mon now. Other goodies from Mr. Miller: "Jet Airliner", "Living In The USA", "Mercury Blues" (a cover), "Take The Money And Run" and "Swingtown". At a Prep High School in Texas Steve was roommates with another famous musician, Boz Scaggs.
This was his set list in Dec-2023… 1. Swingtown 2. Jungle Love 3. Living in the U.S.A. 4. Space Cowboy 5. All Your Love (I Miss Loving) (Otis Rush & His Band cover - with Samantha Fish) 6. Stranger’s Blues (Sippie Wallace cover - with Samantha Fish) 7. Abracadabra 8. Jet Airliner (Paul Pena cover) 9. Fly Like an Eagle 10. Wild Mountain Honey 11. Jet Airliner (Paul Pena cover) (Acoustic) 12. Dance, Dance, Dance 13. Serenade 14. The Stake 15. Shu Ba Da Du Ma Ma Ma Ma 16. Take the Money and Run 17. The Joker 18. Rock'n Me
……he has a lot of hits, this was more commercial than many of his hit ❤️ 70’s Steve Miller Band is where it’s at ! “Fly Like An Eagle” is their signature song ❤️🎸🔥 and if you want something earlier… one of their first hits was “Living In The U.S.A.” (1968)
Decent and the last hit song of his career. Many better songs like Fly Like an Eagle, Jet Airliner, Winter Time, Take The money and Run, and Swingtown! Steve was always coming up with something fresh with his guitar!
damn - did not even know steve was still alive - let alone still playing. he'll be 80 this oct. his album 'number five' was pretty much found in every rocker's collection back in '70 - including mine. great record. never mind - he's 80 already - keep forgetting it's 2024 already !
This was probably a bigger hit because it came with a video in the height of the MTV broadcasting so it had an advantage over some of his earlier music.
Just saw Steve Miller last summer...he was amazing. The band that was supposed to open for him must have not been able to make the rescheduled show so he had Kingfish open up for him. Wonderful night :)
Wow sounds like a great lineup. I saw Steve Miller at winterland SF 73. Journey it the summit in Houston 83 and a year ago in Detroit. In joy the show I know you will. Peace ✌️
In terms of what they're likely to play, it's kind of difficult because they have so many but ones that I think you would enjoy that were mega hits for sure were Jet Airliner, Keep On Rocking Me Baby, Take the Money and Run.
MANY great offerings out there from Steve Miller Band. I've seen him live a few times, he's fantastic. I remember winning a 45rpm single of this song at a school dance in grade 8! This song came later, so it was not included on the 71-78 greatest hits album
I don’t think any two of his songs are a like but all great. If you want something completely different, try Seasons. I’ve heard it used to make people weep, in a good way of course. As far as I’m concerned you are the new gold standard in your business ! Keep it up. Makes me smile.
If you choose to react to Fly Like an Eagle, be sure you pick the full length/ album version... the sound effects are ethereal, every stoners fave! For more chill/ mellow Steve, try "Wild Mountain Honey" and "In The Wintertime". ☮️
You really should check out the official video. The visuals and lyrics go together perfectly. For some reason SMB gets overlooked and underappreciated. They have so many great hits and is one of my favorite bands from the 70's and into the 80' and 90's. One of their best catchy songs is "Keep on Rockin' Me Baby". I'd rather see them than the other bands you mentioned that's going to be at the concert you are going to. Have fun, but not too much fun. LOL
This is my favorite single by them. Their first 6 albums were great but after "The Joker" he concintrated on singles and his albums had lotsa filler songs. The people that bought his first 6 lps are a different bunch that bought the later lps much like Rod Stewart after Maggie Mae or Fleetwood Mac after Buckingham & Nicks joined. They all lost most their original fans.

No, Space Cowboy(1969) is a separate song that is referenced in The Joker (1973).
Oh? Interesting! 🤔

Fly Like an Eagle is by far my favorite of theirs, and the entire album is excellent. Definitely react to the full album versions.
Steve is a rabbit hole of great stuff. He could easily headline the lineup of those three bands
I saw him years ago in Pine knob in Detroit. Man he put on a great show. I really enjoyed his music.😮
"Space Cowboy" is a real groove by the Steve Miller Band!!!!
Hullabaloo was a weekly pop music show in the 60s. (hull-ah-bah-LOO)
Wow, that’s going to be an awesome experience! I saw Steve Miller this summer! Excellent concert ❤
Me too with Dave Mason. 3 hours of fun.
"Jet Airliner" another Steve Miller classic you need to hear if you haven't already.

I saw him over 20 years ago in Vancouver. Time does fly.
Jet airliner is one that you should react to
Agreed
This was probably a bigger hit because it came with a video in the height of the MTV broadcasting so it had an advantage over some of his earlier music.
Try some older Steve Miller - "Space Cowboy', and 'Kow Kow Calqulator' - both bangers! Thanks for playing the Steve Miller Band.
"Kow Kow..." might be my fave! Still to this day, at age 70, it still just knocks me out every time!!
I love this album !
I forgot how this song was that awesome. Must get the CD remasters of it.
an underated tune by Steve is "SERENADE"
I remember when this song played in discos in Finland. I was in the Finnish army at the time, so I remember it well.
Good song!! 🙂
Wow. Love this ❤ lots of fun dancing to this way back then
Just saw Steve Miller last summer...he was amazing.
Peace ✌️
Steve's godfather was the one and only Les Paul
In terms of what they're likely to play, it's kind of difficult because they have so many but ones that I think you would enjoy that were mega hits for sure were Jet Airliner, Keep On Rocking Me Baby, Take the Money and Run.
The radio almost always cut off the descending coda.
I think youll like Take the money and run
70's shit....love it!
Great song. Another of his great songs is 'I Want to Make the World Turn Around'

I do believe that concert also has Heart and cheap trick. You should be warned that Steve Perry will not be with Journey.
at the end he's giving you hints of "fly like an eagle"
I wish some body would do a remix where all the whip cracks are Chandler Bing. WooPAW🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You mentioned it: Fly Like An Eagle
Oooh yeah! Been a minute on this one. Great pick. My favorite SMB song is the Sam Cooke cover You Send Me.
I don’t think any two of his songs are a like but all great. If you want something completely different, try Seasons. I’ve heard it used to make people weep, in a good way of course. As far as I’m concerned you are the new gold standard in your business ! Keep it up. Makes me smile.

"Space Cowboy" the first and Best

Abracadaver!
That cover was his greatest hits album, and has nothing to si with this song
This is my favorite single by them. Their first 6 albums were great but after "The Joker" he concintrated on singles and his albums had lotsa filler songs. Steve "Guitar" Miller...
Steve Miller hated this song!
