Hey Jeff, just for comparison I went and played 4 other videos from known woodworkers (and a few ads in the process) without changing my volume. I'd say you are at about a quarter of the volume level that they were all at. I understand you are working on audio quality, and obviously you can only boost it so much before it gets distorted but i figured i'd let you know what you may already know anyway. Keep up the good work and congrats on the new shop, looks like a couple of the places my brother has had shop / art space in up there. Maybe one of these days i'll get a chance to visit.
@@jeremyspecce Yeah, I made a dumb mistake recording. My shotgun mic on my grip was facing away from me as I was talking. I thought that maybe I was close enough it wouldn't be a problem. I bumped it up a few decibels in post, but was afraid to go much more. I don't normally do this talking vlog type thing, and rarely will in the future anyways. Occasional voiceover is done with a completely different mic and stationary at my desk. Thanks for the heads up.
Apologies in advance for some of the thumping noise from the microphone. I'll eventually get a better audio setup.
