  • This is the second part of our incredible & in-depth look at the origins of India and how it gave birth to new age practices like Yoga and Transcendental meditation that are now normalized in the western world.
    Our guest Daniel Stephen Courney draws from his extensive experience as someone who's spent over a decade as a missionary to Nepal & some of the most spiritually dark areas of the world.

    Listening to this and thought of something really odd. The first time I ever visited a Pentecostal church was the first time I ever experienced anyone speaking in tongues or rolling around on the floor. I had a strange spiritual experience myself that was pretty different for me and I wasn’t sure what to do with it. That night, I prayed before bed and went to sleep and dreamed about being in the Pentecostal church again but the pastor was holding up cards with Hindu gods on them and was slaying people in the spirit. The dream freaked me out so bad and I never went back there again. JUST NOW listening to him draw the connections of the shacti pot (idk how to spell that sorry!) and the strange tongues between the hyper Charismatic Movement and Hinduism is crazy. I never knew they were remotely similar. Reminded me of that experience I had and the weird dream that followed.

    I can tell you why I was attracted to hare Krishna. 1. The person who was here actually knew his scripture and was able to answer my questions vs all the Christians in my life couldn't. 2. Being reborn bc I use to say what kind of God would damn you forever for messing up in 1 life that is just a blink to God. 3. Yes they try to make it compatible with Christianity they will say Jesus was a messenger from God but he was just for certain ppl. That Christianity is like Addition and hare Krishna is like calculus. Even during Christmas they put up a pic of Jesus and give him honor. It wasn't until there was a falling out with the group that I said, well maybe in this life I'm not meant to be a hare Krishna if Jesus is also a messenger ill just focus on his message and advance in another life. Then as I read the Bible and started to understand the questions no one could answer I saw that hare Krishna were lying. If Jesus was a messenger from thr same God then why did he contradict what hare Krishna said. Now I've made it my job to know thr answers to the hard questions so when my kids ask me I have a biblical answer so they don't go through the same path I did.

From my experience it’s getting hard to know what is Pilates and what is yoga stretches. Some basic stretches we do look like yoga stretches. Ie triangle. Likely no, yet this video focuses on Osho and other bad gurus, failing to mention Ramana Maharshi, Srila Prahbupada, Vivekananda and many great teachers. Yet, you call out Hindu sites showing crazy charasmatic Christians ... yet what's the difference between that and what you are doing here? None. Hinduism is a 200+ year old religion that comes out of the Universalist Church in England, and Theosophical Society, created as a way to convert Hinduism to Christianity. This is not a Vedic religion. The Vedas is the foundation of Sanatana Dharma. There's a difference. Its like calling you a Mormon, because Mormons and you are both Christians, so I guess I can interchange the words. If you don't want to be called a Mormon or Christian Scientist or Branch Davidian, then why not show the same respect to others? @6 He's explaining the view of Adi Shankara of one to be unified with Atma, but that view was refuted by Ramanuja as wrong and not a correct interpretation. Not all Hindu gurus think they are god, to say they are is a grave misunderstanding of Hinduism and the belief system. Its sorta like saying all Christians are Mormons, which is wrong, as there's lots of branches of Christian thought. To say you're a Mormon is insulting and ignorant, yet its okay to summarize all Hinduism as one point of view that was debunked 1000 years ago. Hmmm. Hypocritical much? Agenda driven to "willfully suppress truth"? I mean, obviously this guest is "spiritually oppressed" since he promotes lies and deliberate ignorance. Imagine being deliberately ignorant and calling that having spiritual truth.

    The opening scene of the guy talking to the swami about "we've sinned against god, and only by the blood can we have hope" has one glaring error. Its meaningless. Its like saying "We are all blue cars, and only by rubbing Stonehedge can we have hope to be a banana". I jest, but the situation is that in Sanatana Dharma and Neo-Hinduism (one is a 5000+ year old religion, one is a British thing from 200+ years ago), the concept of sin is completely different. There's no such thing as original sin. So, to tell someone that they need Jesus to give them hope to save them from something they don't believe in - fails. It jibberish. I see this over and over with Christians. You have to first convince someone they are in danger before you can save someone from it. You need to first tell folks that original sin is real, as otherwise its as meaningless to Hindus as Falun Dafa's beliefs in evil spirits are to Christians. I don't see any Christians saying if folks are not saved they will be lost to Falun Dafa's evil spirits, as they don't believe this is a threat, they likely don't believe this is a legit religion. Since original sin isn't real, why should I fear it? You must show me its real to win my faith in Jesus, and even then, the Srimad Bhagavatam (which Christians don't read, but they should if they want to know Hindu beliefs first hand) gives solutions how to get out of sin. So you have to then show why these texts are wrong. @2 "He's under great evil influence" cause the swami is not receiving the message. NO, your message is wrong. That's the problem. You're telling people to be saved from a problem that isn't real. You might as well tell folks to pray to Jesus to save them from Dracula, the Mummy and the Wolfman. The only evil influence is this guest, who thinks the problem isn't him and his message. When you lack such self-awareness that's an evil influence on you. He is trapped in worldly intelligence, lacking spiritual intelligence.

    • @wspek
      @wspek Год назад +1

      Hi my friend. I understand your point. Nevertheless, your consciousness daily convicts you of your sin through guilt. Your sense of justice, daily, convicts you that there needs to be retribution for sin. The latter when people hurt you.
      Combining the two, honesty demands you to acknowledge that you will pay for your sins and the only possibility for this is for a Judge higher than ourselves to exist.
      A Judge who embedded this sense of right and wrong within you. This is God.
      This is the Christian message. We are all sinners headed to Court and will be convicted. We will pay with death. You and I both know this.
      But there is a way out, if we except the love of Christ who paid the debt for us with his blood. His life.
      Before you protest; first explain where your sense of right and wrong and justice are founded upon.
