- I went for a few days away in Skanderborg, and whilst i was there i took the opportunity to visit Himmelbjerg - The Heaven Mountain - one of the highest natural peaks of Denmark. I climbed to the top and got a wonderful view. Denmark is famously a very flat country, so "mountains" like this are rare. I think it's quite funny that i scaled the 4th highest peak of Denmark in about 25 minutes!
I had a really lovely time, especially going up the tower at the top, which is number 9 on my adventures visiting the 100 best places in Denmark.
I got the poster of 100 Danish Sights from www.beenposter... - they also make one for Europe, and one for the whole world.
Looks like a very lovely trip, thanks for sharing!
A really good way to learn about this huge Kingdom. 🙂
i love your channel!! you seem so nice person🥹🤍
thank you so much, i appreciate this lovely comment 🥰
I bet you just knew I would say this, but... my local "easy mountain", which I've been up a couple of times, is Mither Tap, which is 518m above sea level :) This is the only thing about Denmark that would make me sad if I lived there - I do love mountains! But you are right: Himmelbjerg is very pretty and well worth the visit I think. That village you went to afterwards almost looked like a typical place in the Scottish borders, by the way.
haha, "easy mountain" .. 3 times higher than anywhere Denmark! 😁 yeah, i really miss mountains too. in my next video i'll visit the actual highest peak, but it is just hills and farm land. nothing like the sights of Scotland at all.
From Himmelbjerget you can actually see a hill that is no less than 10 m taller. I find it very strange that they thought that Himmelbjerget was the tallest point in Denmark for so long.
@@klausolekristiansen2960 maybe they just liked it the most! 🥰
@@aimeerivers It does look good, rising out of the lake.
i didn’t know you climbed ben nevis 😮 also, great views!! you said this is maybe the 4th highest peak, but i wonder now if you were at the highest point when you climbed the tower (if we assume the other peaks don’t have towers)
yes, and i’d love to do it again. i’ve done Scafell Pike and Uppity Up Up too! short answer to your question, no, even with the tower the other 3 are higher. longer answer coming in my next video!
@@aimeerivers can’t wait for the next one 😄 also, happy birthday 🎉
Have you seen The Tim Traveller's excellent video on the highest peak(s) in Denmark? I assume you'll get into some of the finer details of why it was so difficult to determine which point was actually the highest in Denmark in your upcoming video?
@@papaquonis i think i have! yes, i’ll explain a little more, but i try not to get into too much detail in these videos, so it’s mostly just me experiencing the place and throwing in a few snippets of things that interest me 🥰
