I got one of the original Dyna-Flex gyro balls 20 years ago; for some reason I packed it away before on of my moves and forgot about it. Last week, I found it again while decluttering. This is the method I always used to start mine, and I still had the muscle memory to do it after almost 2 decades! Now that I work at home, it's always on my desk, it's a great way to relieve fatigue from typing all day.
I never heard of this thing until telling a coworker about my sore wrist and forearm amd he recommended a gyro ball. Amazon delivered mine 2 days ago. My 7yr old son immediately made it work. I've been trying and failing to make it spin until I saw your video, so thanks a lot for helping me unlock the secrets of the Gyro Ball!
I just got one yesterday for 3 bucks at goodwill, it still had the packaging. It's like someone opened it up, tried it, and put it back and stored it away for a long time before donating it to goodwill. I learned to get it going, and I also taught myself to do it exactly like you are. I find hitting it doesn't even get it going that fast anyway, no wonder people get frustrated and give up when that is the method being taught.
Over 3 months ago I fractured my right elbow that has caused me major problems. I went online and bought the top of the line Titan Pro Powerball; it has helped speedup my rehabilitation considerably along with pain relieve. After much research I realized it helps in recovery and for the serious minded, builds strength and endurance with increase in arm size, "a must have", great presentation.
you're a legend man! thanks for the method, I've got 100% efficiency so far and counting! nice to be possible getting rid of the string and still make it, the finger method simply never quite worked for me. Super awesome and might I say, you're funny xD totally appreciate the video and all talking
Man, I've tried all the techniques out there and rarely have ever been able to get these things going without the string or one of the new "autostart" ones. This technique worked the first time I tried it, and almost every try since! This is definitely the best starting method until you figure out how to do the thumb start method, but that's a ways down the road for me. Thanks for sharing!
So we're the same age and I'm considering buying one of these. Never had one of the old ones but I remembered them a minute ago when I ran across these new ones which led me to your channel. Worth the coin and the effort man?
I just bought one with no led read out. Pretty surprising to see they've been around so long. I actually bought this because I've been playing guitar around 7 years now, and my technique of playing tends to fatigue my forearm quite quickly. I just wrote that and saw your Telecaster in the background lol. Stay up dude 👌
I think these do have some physio type healing going on. Especially when you build up speed and switch hands. Great things. Remember to clean them regularly. The sweat and stuff can get under the band and gunk and stuff.
Idk how I came across your video, but I never would have imagined how much all the (what I considered small) injuries from motocross, hockey, boxing would affect me later in life. I'm only 39 and my body is beat to hell, just getting out of bed in the morning is hell. But hey, I love my powerball!
You actually really look buff. I heard you were in your 50s and I was very surprised, I thought 40s with whiter hair. Did it wind up helping your arthritis at all?
I decided the method I describe here is not that good. If you're wearing Levis it's easier to run it down your leg to your knee that really gets the speed up.
We walked in the snow both ways. Uphill, in the dark with plastic bags over our shoes..........and THEN had to shovel the snow at school and st home....yeah, that's the ticket.
Great video! Thank you:) And look into a whole food plant based diet to make your arthritis go away:) they are teaching about that and diabetes at my local college in nutrition class. God bless have a great day!
Yep, I did think the same thing when he mentioned his arthritis. I am 57 and been vegan for years and not got any aches, pains or any health problems whatsoever. Before I was vegan I was on medications for high blood pressure and cholesterol. My doctor said I'd be on them for the rest of my life. He was wrong :)
@@DaleAmigaman I am 72, eat all animal foods, including meat, fish, chicken, eggs, dairy products and honey, and have no aches or pains and have never been on medications, have never had high blood pressure or cholesterol or arthritis. You don't need to be vegan to be healthy.
@@MrsToodle47 Some people can be healthy and eat animal products. My great Uncle smoked all his life from the age of 14 and lived to 91. I don't think smoking is healthy though. You only have to look around you to see that most older people aren't healthy and are on medications. Studies show vegans generally are much healthier, live longer and are the only group with normal BMI.
I think the duration was perfect. I love these things, I've owned a few since I discovered them 11 years ago and I had no idea that these existed since the late 70s
Just so that you and everyone else knows the Force Ball that you have in your video is NOT the same thing as the Powerballs or the Dynabee. The only thing the same is the concept

If anyone wants to skip the human interest section, then jump to 4:48. That's where he teaches the technique.
Thank you so much lol was hoping there would be a comment like this.
Very interesting to hear they've been around since you were a lad. I had no idea. Thanks for sharing your techniques
You are old school, good! People have to develop the skill and patience.

Couldn’t do the finger one for the life of me! This method, first time it worked! Thanks a bunch! Hope this has helped with your arthritis!
I do this only with my fingertips :D
Mine must be defective. It stops shortly after it gets to spinning and does not stay in motion.

Thanks I'm still trying to get mine going so I'm going to try your technique right now
Sir you took the effort, So will I thanks, thumbs up.
I just got mine today. We got it off of Amazon it’s the Gyro ball and it’s a workout lol. I love it.
Great video and I enjoyed hearing some of the history of these devices.
What a nice guy you are!! Thanks for this!! 👍🏽

I haven't used mine in years LOL. But I think I'll start it up again.
They are amazing. It's great for musicians and I play drums. I also type alot at work.
Awesome I started playing drums 9 months ago for a hobby. I play at least an hour a day now.

Enjoyed the video. Thanks for your service. I too had one when young. It has helped me with my grip and wrist. ENJOY

Got it first try using hand method thx bro

I just bought this n love it
I thought it was the squeeze ball because I like stroked out my left is gone
Scroll to 5:32 if you dont wanne hear al the chitty-chat
Brilliant 🎉
That's looks nice, mine is red and blue light 😢
Want to use it for Physio/Rehab or Warm-up? Run it at a very low speed, not high speed.
Best for low speed are the metal ones from powerballs.com . A bit more expensive but they're worth every penny
The one I bought from CVS I can't seem to start with any method other than string, and now the string hole is clogged from broken plastic. 😫
sometimes doing this will pinch the fuck out of your hand lol. hate it!
You actually really look buff. I heard you were in your 50s and I was very surprised, I thought 40s with whiter hair. Did it wind up helping your arthritis at all?
Ya it helps thank you
The pleasure is all mine! You're a really unique person, I find myself thinking about your channel during the day. :)
where u get the bright light shining ones?
It just doesn't take of no matter what I do, I lost string
Amazing
Are you still using it, notice any difference?
IS DAT A ROLEX? Also will this actually make me stronger as in strength?
Hand starting technique starts just after 5:00 minute mark.
Or just use the autostart one

Semper Fi! I use it to keep some strength in my forearms. The powerball and the thera-bands are good for us older Vets.
Semper Fi Devil Dog!
How was the walk to school 'uphill both ways'?
Brookes Nunn Lol its an old saying where senior citizens jokingly tell youngsters how rough they had it in the old days.
We walked in the snow both ways. Uphill, in the dark with plastic bags over our shoes..........and THEN had to shovel the snow at school and st home....yeah, that's the ticket.
Try granite countertops

I just drag it over a table top.
Great video. If you want your arthritis gone, check out Dr Shawn Baker. He's got a Joe Rogan video on youtube.
Starts ball at 5:42……
Thumb starts don't work
I can cold start them
Up hill both ways haha
c é foda tio
dude, this should've been a ONE minute video, not ten
alterionisto Glad u liked it.

This didn't work for me at all waist of time
