    I really appreciate the bit about confidence. I am a team soccer coach for teens and I 1-1 coach my daughter. I have learned that whether it is a team or an individual, confidence is something that takes time to build, and for teens, the adults play a HUGE role. I don't allow adults to say anything negative during a game. It's not the right time. I will give direction, like "push up", "pull back", "cover the hole", "get ready", etc. but even if a player makes a big mistake, I say: "Dust it off! Get em next time!". I have also noticed that with kids, they NEED one on one coaching. That is where the skill you talked about comes in. When I was team coach in the past, I didn't have time to do 1-1 with my daughter. We moved to a new league this year and she has a team coach and I only do 1-1 with her. In our 1-1, we will do one skill 100 times in one session. We don't do long sessions, maybe 1/2 to 1 hr. We also ALWAYS do left and right 50/50. The day before her first game of the season, we did one drill 100 times. She is a striker, so we did me kicking a long ball pass, she had to control it and quickly take a goal kick, alternating left and right. Early in the first game one of her midfielders kicked the ball from the middle of the field to the penalty box line. She ran to it, controlled the ball from the air, took one touch to set up and get past a defender and one touch into the corner of the goal, first goal of the season. We are now in playoffs and she is the team's leading scorer.

      That's awesome! Sounds like a very well-rounded approach to player development. I completely agree with everything you said. The issue most young players face is that they don't take training on their own serious enough. I say it in almost every video to highlight its importance, but team training simply isn't enough. You get way more touches when on your own, so it's important for developing technical skills. Team training is where you develop your intelligence, tactical understanding, and overall soccer IQ.
      And you're spot on with confidence too. Adults, both coaches and the player's parents make a huge impact on the kid's confidence. There's a time and place to give constructive criticism, but it needs to be balanced with encouragement! Thanks for sharing😁🫶🏻

    Being confident really works out well for me.
    One day, while playing football in school i accidentally scored a header from outside the box. I then proceeded to complete a hat-trick. One of the goals was a tap-in and the other was a 1v5 against the defenders.
    While on some other days, i get scared and i cant even recieve passes properly. I even miss penalties VERY horribly.

    The part about acknowledging why you lack self confidence is interesting. I would add that it is important to video record your games and watch them. Sometimes you just don't see the problem unless you can see it from a different angle. I record all of my kid's games and I watch them and select moments for my daughter and me to review. Sometimes she notices opportunities she didn't realize that she had. Sometimes we see different things that different teams do on defense and now we can look for it in the next game. Sometimes we see areas for practice. For example, one team had more of a diamond formation to their defense, so when my daughter would dribble past on defender, another was right there to take the ball away. We worked on cutting in and out of defenders keeping the dribble tighter. She also worked with her midfielders on a plan for them to look out for her and communicate so she could quickly turn the ball around and pass it back to them for a give and go.

    • @KreiderAcademy
      @KreiderAcademy  2 месяца назад

      Film review is fantastic for all that! When I was playing in college, I got sat down for a meeting about my confidence based on what the coach saw in my play. He highlighted every time I got the ball and how many times I played sideways or backwards. It was like 90% of the time! The point was received, and I started being positive and aggressive in my play and that may have been the single best meeting of my career so far. That's awesome that you're taking the time to breakdown the tactical side of the game to help your daughter be a more intelligent player!!

    I really got something from the "remember a time when you were more self confident". My daughter started playing at age 4. She was fearless and would score 10 goals in a game. As she became a teenager, that confidence whithered away. It is coming back, but I don't think she is quire at the same level as her 4 year old self. For one thing she had a life altering accident, breaking her arm and she was no longer fearless. I haven't talked to her about this lesson you talk about, perhaps I should.

    • @KreiderAcademy
      @KreiderAcademy  2 месяца назад

      Let me know how it helps her if you do! I would love to know. I've had that conversation many times but not with someone as young as back when she was four. It may be a challenge to remember her thoughts, emotions, and motivations she had when she was that young. But that also highlights how simple the game can really be. That's something that defines the best players. They make all the tactical intricacies look so simple! Please keep me updated on how she does and responds to that conversation if you have it! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

    When I was in my prime, I played with ppl who were my height and nationality, and most importantly, who I knew. Now, at training, I play with people who make me nervous and are different nationality. They also dominate in height. My coach is really strict and does not tolerate mistakes. How can I fix this?

    • @KreiderAcademy
      @KreiderAcademy  2 месяца назад +1

      Don’t worry! It’s natural for this to happen as you play for better and better teams. The coach is trying to push you to improve by holding a high standard! First of all, try to get to know your teammates as people. Becoming friends and more comfortable with them will allow you to be more comfortable, relaxed, and confident at training! Depending on the height difference it can be difficult to compete physically but one of the most important factors is your aggression and mentality! If you’re scared because you’re a smaller player then you will play timid! Some of the best players I’ve played with were smaller player who were aggressive and physical. Even though they were small they used everything they had and they were more than capable to compete! Good luck😁🫶🏼

    I'm quite late to this video and this is my biggest problem, when the coach isn't here i'm easily and by far the best player and the most technical one, when we play a real match i don't even exist, i feel like the worst one on the field even if i score, that's what my father, coach and even school teachers told me, i have potential, in football or in study, but i don't show them, in class i don't raise my hand yet when teachers ask me to answer, i always get it right, anyways i know this comment was a waste to read, thanks and nice video, you'll make it big one day 👍

    • @KreiderAcademy
      @KreiderAcademy  2 месяца назад +1

      Not a stupid question at all! You should check out my video titled “The 5 Best Shooting Techniques that you NEED to Master in Soccer”
      In it I breakdown the technique or curlers and address this in a visual way. But the answer is it depends. Players hit curlers with two different techniques. Players typically use their instep, to get more curl and shape on the ball. When shooting like this you’d want your ankle locked with your toe up some. Others want more power on it so they strike curlers with their laces still and you’d want to lock your ankle with your toe down for that style. Check out the video and let me know if you have any questions!😁🫶🏼

    Toxic or good environment. Fortunately, my daughter has a really positive environment with her team coaches. She and I have a good 1-1 environment too. That does make a big difference. Especially for kids. If it's not fun... structured, but fun, it's not going to work.

    • @KreiderAcademy
      @KreiderAcademy  2 месяца назад

      Absolutely! It's always a balance of doing what is best for their development but making it enjoyable. That's why dribbling races, passing races or competitions, and shooting games are so good. They are effective for teaching the technical skill and the kids go 100% in them to try and win!

      Well becoming a professional footballer isn’t easy. If it was easy then everyone would do it… No one expects you to just have the talent to do it. You have to develop it by doing lots and lots of technical work outside of team training! The confidence will come as you continue to work hard. Your ability will improve and then you’ll have more confidence in yourself! But whether or not you chase your dream is only a decision you can make.
