    I fucking love this movie, I feel the people that say it was long and boring are people who didn't even try to understand the movie, my mom didn't even watch the first film but she was able to understand what was going on in a sequel and ended up liking the film

      jacob mcnatt I'm actually quite surprised I enjoy this film a lot like a lot, I didn't find it boring at all and I liked how Long the film is. It allowed me to really "relax" and kinda focus and take it all in

      FrostBite Pokin to me that's what blade runner is all about, even the first one is slow and people find it to be a masterpiece, but apparently its you love it or hate it kind of thing which is stupid

      I feel bad. I payed to go see it, but feel like it def deserves more money than it received over the past weekend. If only there was a place to donate. It sucks that big business will look at this and decide taking risks does not benefit them financially. I'm still baffled as to why this didn't make more money.

      Four times, 3 in IMAX, the other regular widescreen. IMAX was much more involving.
      I did about the same when the original came out, except I flip-flopped between liking it and being irritated by it before settling to liking it. And of course it got better with time.
      I’m not surprised BR2049 didn’t quite get the wider recognition it deserves: it’s faithful to the spirit of the first even in that way.

      Damn forgot about that one, still I'm optimistic that Roger has it in the bag. Dunkirk looked nice but 2049 was on a whole different level, Roger is using different colors were as Hoyte is using only using one tone.

    People who are saying it's a bad movie obviously had the wrong idea going into the film. Even if you don't like the story, it's beautifully shot, the score is great, and the direction and acting is amazing as well. People are too quick to say a movie sucks just because they got bored with it. It's not a boring movie, it's just not action packed like most hollywood movies nowadays.

    • @halloweenfriday

      Curri189 Exactly! I think a lot of people are too used to the run-of-the-mill superhero movies, or big budget action movie franchises like Fast and Furious or Transformers. Blade Runner 2049 is a modern masterpiece that will be talked about a lot in years to come.

    It's fitting that 2049 didn't get much respect like the original Blade Runner, and yet I have no doubt that over time, people will realize how amazing and deep the story really is. With all due respect to Mr Scott, it's probably best he didn't direct this one, given his recent track record vs. Villeneuve as of late. I'm still holding out for an extended directors cut by Denis. I don't care how long it is, it is a visual feast for the eyes and a thought provoking masterpiece for the mind to mull over for years to come.

    Just too bad this film flopped hard. Maybe tank is a better word? Sad for a film of this caliber to take in so little. Hopes for a BR3 is nil. I liked this just a tad better than the original. 9.5/10 for me.

    Incredible movie. Being a massive fan of BR I thought that 2049 would be a poor relative. Was I wrong! 2049 is a compliment to the original and works perfectly it couldn't be better. I particularly liked when Decker appeared in the movie, after that the movie stepped up yet another gear, I feckin love this film!

    Thank you for putting this one out, WatchMojo.. "2049" deserves way more attention than it's getting.. I get that it's practically Halloween and the average Joe is likely saving the dough for something more run-of-the-mill, "Happy Death Day", "SAW 28" (or 27 -idk i forget how far a series gets when it just tweaks the same script every time but tells u "It's the sequel!") For once, just once, why not take on... something mind-expanding? Ever left a movie, asking yourself the bigger questions? Trust me, it beats leaving some horror film, not only pissed it didn't frighten you, but then all together forgetting it the very next day.. -Been there/done that, u say? Tired of paying for the uninspired rehash? Well guess what -you don't have to! Go on.. try something else. U can do it. Trust me, It's out there. It's called "Blade Runner 2049"

    I don't think there's any mystery now as to whether Deckard was ever a replicant given that in the original they could only live a 3-5 years, and 30 years later he's still alive in 2049, so no, there's no ambiguity anymore.

    • @imasepan
      @imasepan 6 лет назад

      Caleb Williams you're forgetting that Deckard might have been a Nexus 8, which had open ended lifespans.

    • @calebwilliams7659
      @calebwilliams7659 6 лет назад

      Except Deckard was already retired from the LAPD at the beginning of the original movie, which means he had already been working for decades long before Replicants were ever created. The only way it could've worked, and it would've been a cool plot twist too, was if he had been mortally wounded in the line of duty @ some point, and his memories transferred to a Replicant, which works really well in that film given that it was a new technology used on Sean Young's character. It also would've been 7 years before RoboCop came out so it would've been an original idea, and also a cool plot twist no one saw coming back then.

    I too loved this movie, however it’s plot is completely wrong. The replicants want to be free in order to do that they must reproduce but only Tyrell perfected replicant reproduction. This means only Rachel and Deckard and maybe just maybe some of the older model replicants none of the Wallace made replicants can reproduce. The only way replicants can possibly gain freedom is if Wallace succeeds.

    10. Yep. The "opinion" of Deckard being a replicant has been argued over the years. I think the Final Cut makes it quite clear. Whatever.
    9. Knew David Bowie was originally wanted for Jared Leto's role before your presumptuous video.
    8. Interesting. But not an "amazing" fact.
    7. No, only seven versions exist. Final Cut is Scott's preferred version. Knew that years ago.
    6. How is that a mystery about the cast? Not amazing, either.
    5. Yep. Knew that, too. A year before the movie.
    4. Yep. Already knew about "Arrival".
    3. Hampton Fancher. How did you assume no one else would know that?
    2. Yep. Ridley Scott was too busy to direct "2049".
    1. Yep. Deni said in several interviews he was nervous about touching the Blade Runner universe because of the respect he had for the original.
    You might want to stop assuming what people do and do not know. About titles like, "Ten things you MIGHT NOT KNOW about..."
    Try that on for size.
