Yup. The title is right! This EOWS 1212 did Alternate Steady, Alternate Wail, Alert, and Wail for the monthly test on the first Wednesday. It was quite the experience to hear alternate in person like this. I was afraid they were not going to test because of storms that had just moved through the county, but when I called dispatch they were very happy and reassured me that they would be testing on time. Alternate Wail has it's own ominous, musical feel.
Best video! If you guys say the Alt Wail sounds like Siren Head, y'all are correct. The sound is used for it, not making the speaker siren a monstrous wood-colored siren. Alt Wail sounds like a terrible tone, but people seem to get obsessed with it...

These have 12. That's still nothing compared to the Whelen WPS3016 with sixteen speakers. I might be wrong, but I think some modulators have 48 speakers!

It sounds cool and it makes me creeped out for a different reason that a regular tornado siren wail does. This one I've never heard before in real life. It presents the fear of an unknown danger that hasn't happened yet.

Finally a video with the full speakers but I wish that it also had the west monster chimes cause I've been trying to find a video with all of the speakers and not just half of them cause they had this siren and chimes in sea isle and Ocean City and Stone Harbor and they replaced it with a tower with white stacks on it.
The original EOWS 'Alternating Wail' sounds way better than the new Mod sirens ever will.
It uses an UV controller which is the same one used on the Mod.

@@natestrains1166 Usually the slow windups happen on SiraTone, I believe.
It definitely isn't a Siratone. Siratones are analog, meaning the sound is produced by capacitors. The wind up is different than that of a Siratone. Siratones have a more calm and smooth sound, and digital controllers like MCs, and UVs have a more harsh sound to them. But this siren did have a Siratone at one point.

A have a 115 a mile or two from my house! I will try to record its next test and put it on my channel I also love alternate wail! The one at my area is old probobly pretty sick appears to be like 30 years old never restored I gonna ask the city is I can fix it!

Are the people around you aware that this is only a test? Or is this siren tested on private property? 👀 Just wondering because wouldn't people be quite scared if there was previously a storm? Please correct me if I am wrong.
People would understand. Usually they know testing times and some people might have a scanner.

I know "alert" is used as an all-clear signal in certain regions of the world, "alternate steady" (which might be another name for "hi-lo") is used for fire, and "attack" is used, obviously, to signal an impending attack. I'm not sure about the last one, though.
