With the introduction of the Breeze, I could see Dust Devils simply being a desert variant of the mob, much like how Husks and the Drowned are variants of the classic Zombie. Instead of the sword however, I think making shovels the optimal tool of choice for slaying them would be interesting
if the kraken would be added, i would also want to see way deeper oceans, that would reach the negative y height amazing series btw!! i hope that most of those ideas will be in minecraft someday xd
Max/min Depth of the ocean in any particular chunk should be related to how far away it is from a land biome. So that the larger the ocean biome, the deeper it goes. Even as far as bedrock.
Aw man, I cant believe this is the last episode of The List. I really enjoyed this series. The practical showcase was done super well, helped visualise your concepts to us. Now we've been left yearning for what could've been/could be... But as you stated, Mojang has implemented some of these since the writing of the The List began. So, I'll keep a positive outlook. Special kudos for the funny outros every time, I loved them lol
I absolutely love the idea of vultures, but I think the "5 stacks of random goods" kind of incentivizes players to view them as kind of "loot pinatas"... however, I like the idea of using them to store player drops when they die on the surface, bring a stack of rotten flesh to pay the vultures for your stuff back, instead of gravestones or your player corpse like some mods.
I'd make the eclipse advancement different. Since you should NEVER look directly at an eclipse IRL, if the player uses a spyglass to watch the eclipse they would get the blinded status and an advancement indicating not to look at an eclipse.
You should never look directly at a PARTIAL eclipse. It is perfectly safe to the view the corona during totality with the naked eye, binoculars, or a telescope.
@@J_Cera totality is rare, most of the time it's a partial eclipse, and if it happens, it happens very quickly. It'd be safer for children not to look at solar eclipse directly
@@octobsession3061I've never seen a partial eclipse that didn't reach totality 😅 maybe I just don't know about them? but I don't see the point of this really anyway, the sun doesn't blind you in Minecraft and giving a negative effect the only time the sun is safe to look at feels counterintuitive. maybe if they also had a partial eclipse feature? I'm not sure 😅
This was an awesome series. As a mod and datapack creator I have felt super inspired seeing all of these great ideas! I know a lot of these already exist as mods and datapacks, and I think a modpack collecting them (and filling out the rest) would be super fun.
Thank you Cub for not just compiling the list, but putting it on Video, and implementing mods for it. The production quality of The List is fantastic. These are all Great Ideas
The last one?! I hope that you continue the series as more ideas come to you. I appreciated how well you thought out each idea and how it would be implemented within vanilla Minecraft. Thanks for the work you put into this.
Piggybacking on the "Rarest Sight" advancement, there needs to be a blindness effect for when you look at the sun with a telescope. I mean, c'mon. Can't feed parrots chocolate, can't have fireflies, but you can stare at the sun all day with a telescope.
Yes! All of his suggestions feel like vanilla, but much better. Cub's understanding of game design and Minecraft's "soul" is on another level. Somebody should make them into a mod
Can’t wait till your notepad with ideas fills up again, this was probably the best “what if” minecraft series on youtube ever. Very well thought out and very vanilla-esque. Great job cub, hopefully mojang took some notes
In general, there is a lot of great ideas in the community and in these great videos, but the block variants talked about in here are by far the additions I'm always been the most pattionate about seeing in game, thanks for including them on the List!
I disagree with your proposal for magma blocks as this would have a huge effect on underwater exploration. Not only would it make it much harder to stay underwater for longer periods of time in the early game, but magma blocks would become much more dangerous underwater than before. (I also maintain that the shifting makes sense, you're walking carefully to avoid the red cracks in the rock)
The absolute best miniseries. I can't wait to reference The List a couple dozen times over the coming years when these ideas get added. They are genuinely thought out ideas with good reasoning for each. Nothing felt like a "because I want it" sort of an idea. I absolutely love the way your brain works.
long comment (that may or may not post) aside -- this has been an incredible series! always interesting hearing people's takes on how Minecraft can grow and evolve over time, and a lot of these seem either genuinely plausible or at the very least super fun to toy around with!
Maybe the dust devil could be like a new blaze type like the breeze? It will function the same but won't disappear unless slain or despawned. When placed on sand it could spit out sand items making for cool farms
great list cub, i have been on the same page as you with these suggestions in this series, well mostly at least. I really like the idea of seasons and the effects they would have on the environment, would make the world of minecraft feel more alive. Hopefully mojang will take lots of notes and would implement at least some of the things in this list.
I'd argue that the eclipse advancement should be: "AAGH MY EYES!". Because looking at the sun during an eclipse especially with a spyglass would be very bad
At the moment of totality, you could look at the sun, but any time before or after it would burn your eyes. Maybe that could be implemented into the feature, but otherwise I still think Cub’s advancement idea would be more than fine.
Red moon and eclipse would be neat. I would add that piglins and hoglins dont zombifie in the overworld during these events. It would also be cool if slimes spawn in more biomes during these events as well as new mobs that only spawn during these events like Skeleton and zombie champions 4 horseman Special either skeletons Some new unique mob for each event. I love this idea of a rare celestial event that changes the world. It would also be neat if there were endgame items you could only attain through these events by defeating a boss you can only spawn during these events by completing a structure similar to the either structure. This is such and opptutunity to add new content, lore, and other stuff. I think this is my favorite idea.
Everything yesss!!! The seasons ❤️❤️❤️ my absolute favorite. Thanks for the epic song! I've added it to my playlist 😊 Thanks for everything,Cub! You are the hero of Minecraft we need ✨🔥✨
Came for the ideas stayed for the absolutely bop of a song. Heck yeah to all the calcite and prismarine and diorite/granite/andesite variations they look so good! Thank you for making the List it has been an amazing series! Can you clarify the charred wood section a bit? I wasn't sure the motivation for adding it.
I’d suggest modifying the proposed solar eclipse to have the player view the eclipse through tinted glass. Viewing an eclipse through a normal telescope in real life could lead to eye damage so the tinted glass could represent the suggested polarized lenses
Thanks for putting this series together! Youve got a lot of great ideas, I hope even a few of them get implemented in the coming development cycles. They're thoughts worth listening to :]
I’m so confused why moobloom isn’t in the game. Like it would actually take less than a day to implement. They already sell toys of it. It’s texture is just a recolor, the code for sheering cows and milking with a bowl is already there for mooshrooms, and there’s a tag system to add it to a list of creatures that can spawn in certain biomes. It’s so crazy the flower forest and cherry forest didn’t get something like that
It's one of the reasons that the devs get so much flak. There are a lot of situations like this where things could be easily added, but for some reason they just don't. Like all the block variants that should exist, but don't. They really should, at some point, do a "spring-cleaning" update where they go back through everything to polish, add missing block variants, and make adjustments where needed. I am sure they could easily do this for one of the smaller updates.
because it's not really intersting? A third cow that over mystifies some very standard biomes, if the players vote for it they vote for it but they don't really add things to the game because they're easy.
You think it would take less than a day to implement? We're talking about Mojang. They would manage to make it take four months and they'd still somehow need to remove some promised features before releasing it.
This has been an absolutely fantastic series, Cub, thank you for doing this!! I hope Mojang will seriously consider adding some or all of these into the game, I think all of them would make fantastic additions!
Cub you have such a talent for poems and jingles and such a sweet voice. Also the list is full of so many good ideas one from a while back tho I still think of frequently...deep pockets. Was such a good idea. And I love you had the choice of inventory size it fits so well with Minecraft being a sandbox game meant to be full of choices
Nice series. And with the addition of the seasons, I can also pick up allergies in spring in Minecraft XD, it is an attribute of the player whether he is allergic. If he has an allergy he can no longer sprint, has less stamina, and other effects.
If not Mojang is not listening to anything what you have have spoken about in this videos and or hiring you to the Team i don't know what to say. They will miss out on some many extremely good things for the game. You are a genius, for real!!! I love your content. Keep up the good work. You are Brilliant! Lots of Love from Sweden❤
This has been a really fun series I watched every episode and I personally agree with some of your ideas to get added in the Minecraft game. My favourites are adding the Jungle & Swamp Villages and the variants of the Andersite, Granite and Diorite Blocks. I hope you have a great Christmas Cub and I'll see ya again in 2025.
I love the sand storm ideas, I would love to collect sand without making my world UGLY! All of the extra block variants sound great, but there is already a horrible inventory issue we know Mojang is never going to fix because of variants. By the way cool song.
This a very cool list!!! Love all of the ideas It would add so much to Minecraft. I was thinking that an asteroid hitting the land could be very interesting. There would be damage plus a special block or blocks that could be harvested.
I really like the seasons feature, it’s something I would love to have in the game. However, I’m sure there are people who would not like it, so I think the seasons should be a feature you can allow when creating a new world so people have the option of having seasons or not.
Love the dust devil idea, a far more creative idea for renewable sand than the "make husks drop sand" that everyone has (though to be fair that would be nice as it'd make husks a bit more useful) Also seasons are a cool idea I hope they add eventually, would be a nice way to spice up long-term worlds This was a neat series to watch, there were so many cool ideas in this and I hope the devs consider some of them
Seasonal time changes make no sense Cub, the sun revolves around the player not the planet around the sun, and always in a 180 degree arc with noon being 90 degrees. You'd think an astronomer would understand planetary rotational axis.
I love the idea of the different leaves in the seasons, would really add some color. Additional blocks for granite, andisite and diorite would be awesome. Diorite would go well with the new pale wood.
I would love seasons, especially with the possible implications of leave colour changes. Adding really nice opportunities for shaders at the very least
I just really want the next Update to be "The Cub Update" now. There are some Ideas I liked more than others, but overall, these are exceptional suggestions I would love to see in the game. I hope Mojang notices this too.
season idea... for snow, there is another simple solution: just reduce the altitude where snow starts to form during winter, and increase it during summer. most biomes already have an altitude where it snow instead of rains (Taiga is 153 for example, and Snowy biomes is -64). Just increase that number by 100 during Summer, and decrease it by 100 during the winter. The game will sort itself out.
If seasonal snowfall were to be added, the way chunks work needs to be taken into account, since these changes wouldn't take place in unloaded chunks, leading to hard borders of snowy and grassy landscapes. A possible solution is to give every chunk a "last loaded" variable, which it could use to calculate what needs to change. For example, a chunk would be loaded and see: "oh, I was last loaded mid-winter, but it's the start of spring now, so 70% of my snow will be deleted". With this feature, it could also be nice if player-placed snow didn't melt, similar to how leaves work.
I like the idea of dust devil's but not for giving sand, deserts should have sandstorms when it "rains" and like cold biomes with snow, sand layers are created. Also seasons effecting crops would just mean everyone builds an umbrella across them. Other than that can I thank you for the series, really enjoyed it, hope Mojang carry on paying attention to you
Polished diorite fence, I would love that for my shrines! Glad you also thought of it. I still need a dog ball so you can play with your dog, and feather on fishing rod to play with your cat. Would be perfect rather than pets just sitting there
Please add more entries to the list when you have enough for occassional episodes! I've really enjoyed this series, thanks Cub. :)
Incredible song. 10/10. We need to sing it outside of mojang studios nonstop
Exactly what I was thinking
With the introduction of the Breeze, I could see Dust Devils simply being a desert variant of the mob, much like how Husks and the Drowned are variants of the classic Zombie. Instead of the sword however, I think making shovels the optimal tool of choice for slaying them would be interesting
Folks, bring out the sharpness V shovels
Ah, yes. The new Brash mob. Can't wait!
Love the subtle change of different daylight lengths based on seasons.
if the kraken would be added, i would also want to see way deeper oceans, that would reach the negative y height
amazing series btw!! i hope that most of those ideas will be in minecraft someday xd
Max/min Depth of the ocean in any particular chunk should be related to how far away it is from a land biome. So that the larger the ocean biome, the deeper it goes. Even as far as bedrock.

I'm still convinced that a "cub mod" with all of these features would be played more than vanilla
Maybe call it C.O.T.L (Crossed Off The List)
There are plenty of mods, not exactly like this, but which are close enough - vanilla+ mods. Quark, for one.

Agreed
Enjoyed all the episodes, and fully agreed with most of the ideas. 'Cubfan, a man changing the world (of minecraft).'
I'm sad to see this series end 😢 what an amazing journey

i'm loving cub's 60's hits collection this year

"But I only turn around every once in a red, red moon"
This has been my fave Minecraft series ever!
your tumbleweed idea would add life to the mesa biome
I appreciated the song Cob 🎤🎶🎼. Also, I love these Ideas.
Best one yet! Love these ideas. Especially the seasons.
these twelve weeks went by really quickly! Hope you'll do a q&a video soon too, I loved the first couple!
Really REALLY LOVE the idea's in this vid Cub!!!
I love all of these ideas lol
Aw i love this series! I could listen to you list mincraft features forever lol. I looooooved the advancements hehe. It's high noon LOL!
+1 for the Beach Boys today Cub haha

the song was Absolutely incredible. really really hoping for block updates for those that are so so lacking in variety
Loved this series lots of really good ideas
One idea I would love seen added would be all leaf blocks drop sapling when bonemealed
Awesome list !
i liked hearing you sing a song for me :D
Simpy outstanding! Bravo, Cub!
What if, and this is *just* a suggestion, we made cub the lead developer of Minecraft?
that beach boys interpolation deserves a comment.
wonderful wonderful series. thank you cub!!!
Was not expecting the musical number, but also not complaining! It WOULD be nice to have some new blocks :') those chisled ones looked so cool!
This is great stuff!
Love the dust devil idea, a far more creative idea for renewable sand than the "make husks drop sand" that everyone has (though to be fair that would be nice as it'd make husks a bit more useful)
Also seasons are a cool idea I hope they add eventually, would be a nice way to spice up long-term worlds
This was a neat series to watch, there were so many cool ideas in this and I hope the devs consider some of them
I like or love all of these. Good job Cub!
Imagine thinking you just got away clean from an ocean monument just to have a Kraken waiting outside for vengeance
Seasonal time changes make no sense Cub, the sun revolves around the player not the planet around the sun, and always in a 180 degree arc with noon being 90 degrees. You'd think an astronomer would understand planetary rotational axis.
Ending the series with a banger song from cub is the way to go 👏.
PLEASE tell me theres a mod for all those beautiful block variants you show during your song! I have a MIGHTY NEED for them
I love the idea of the different leaves in the seasons, would really add some color. Additional blocks for granite, andisite and diorite would be awesome. Diorite would go well with the new pale wood.
Great list! I would love seasons, especially.
I would love seasons, especially with the possible implications of leave colour changes. Adding really nice opportunities for shaders at the very least

This is a very cool series, I enjoyed it very much!
The only clarification I demand is the reason you are still not a Mojang employee!!!
Awesome series Cub, truly a Minecraft Genius.
Amazing ideas all Cub!
I like the idea of dust devil's but not for giving sand, deserts should have sandstorms when it "rains" and like cold biomes with snow, sand layers are created.

I think the idea of sneaking on magma blocks is that you're choosing your steps more carefully.
Polished diorite fence, I would love that for my shrines! Glad you also thought of it. I still need a dog ball so you can play with your dog, and feather on fishing rod to play with your cat. Would be perfect rather than pets just sitting there
