Thanks for this. It worked perfectly on my grandson's Acer Chromebook. He had dropped it and the screen stopped working two weeks later. Turned out to be a loose connection in the screen. I didn't know all you had to do was to pry open the display!

Can I use a different cromebook screen replacement then the one needed?

Best thing to do is check the model number on the rear of the screen - as long as they match, then yes you can
