  • In this review of the REP Fitness urethane coated dumbbells you will learn what you can expect from your new dumbbells. Here we look at their 5-50 lb dumbbell set along with the REP fitness dumbbell rack.
As far as home gym equipment goes, I consider fixed weight (grab and go) dumbbells to be a great upgrade from loadable bells because fixed weights make working out less tedious and more fun.
Urethane dumbbells are also smaller than loadable, rubber hex dumbbells, and many adjustable bells I've seen. Add to that they lack the odor of rubber bells and the noise of metal bells and they may be the right choice for your home gym.
And I've said it in the comments, the inconsistent knurling issue seems to be common across brands so...

Main takeaway: be prepared to pay return shipping if you're not satisfied with the knurling. Also, use the original packaging to avoid a 15% restocking fee.
I've seen 2 Rogue reviews complaining about inconsistent knurling, a RUclipsr told me his American Barbell urethanes are inconsistent, and I've personally verified Warrior's round, and 12 sided, urethane dumbbells are inconsistent.
I took a second shot at REP for the $270 return shipping fee and wound up keeping the first set, which is fine. No odor, no noise, no gloves. No worries. Hope this helps.

That's so disappointing. I have around $8k in Rep fitness equipment and really want this style dumbbell for 50-125, but I will not buy them until they figure out the inconsistent knurling issues. I have seen this in dozens of reviews and posts. I currently have the 5-75 rubber coated dumbbells, but don't like how bulky the heavier sizes are, especially for bench. Hopefully this is something Rep fitness makes it a priority to resolve this issue, especially given that these are probably the most expensive product they sell pound for pound.

For me it is bc mine are consistent so just be aware of the potential knurling issue. Kinda lame they can’t figure that out, but yes I like these over loadables.
