i keep hearing that ranger is a direct counter to warlock but whenever i play ranger, it's always the aggressive warlocks that kill me. what am i doing wrong lol
Play just outside the range of curse of pain. The last guy I fought in this video was a fighter but played my range perfectly until the end when he was guarding the portal. You can use that as an example.
Also take advantage of the moment after the warlock drops hydra. If they are life drain, they have to stand still to get hp back and are vulnerable. If they are torture mastery they just spent 24 hp so they are weak and will want to curse hydra right away as well
Exactly, keep ur range, have enough movespeed to outrun them and dont chase the kill too hard.
A warlock MIGHT escape you, but they should NEVER kill you.
If they do, its likely cuz u got too close cuz u wanted to hurt him.
Keep your distance, don't let him get into mid-range without punishing him first. When the warlock is low on HP he will be reluctant to cast and will likely retreat, when that happens you need to push your advantage (in a smart way) and finish him off before he heals on hydra. Don't get impatient. The fight isn't over if he gets a full heal off. Don't put yourself out of position just to thirstkill some shitter warlock. If they are being overly aggressive then you need to make an obstacle course out of your traps and make them reluctantly run through a gauntlet to kill you.
Also most importantly of all: You need to land your shots as Ranger or you'll lose. Can't stress this part enough.
Play every single class so you can learn how to face them
How is this vs one hand kris and offhand spell book? I've been running that for about a week with decent success. Not really in the same skill tier but not terrible.
I don’t think it makes sense to run BoC unless you’re also taking the crystal ball. The spellbook kris build with phantomize is great and I run it all the time, just a different build
You can also run a spellbook offhand with this build for the times you really want to focus on kiting or chasing but I don’t usually bother since it’s one more thing to think about
@@Euthafro fair enough, I'm still learning the mechanical interactions so that makes sense. While BoC is awesome I just really like the mobility provided by the Kris alone.
I use the same build love it, id use purple halberd for the barb match up makes it way more manageable

I tried this build too but with Demon Plate instead, nowhere near as much success cos the loss of movement speed made all the difference.
I don’t know how to make platelock anything but a worse fighter. You just don’t have the perks or skills that fighter does and having a crossbow/bow takes so much less investment than spells. Someday I’ll find a way, but without demon, idk. Glad there are people trying though

Do you think Bolt of Darkness is that good in that build? you waist stacks if oyu justmiss one shot, spellpredation would be a muhc better option especially against clerics to deny any buff setup they just did.
If you land the empowered bolt to the head, it’s doing like 80-90 damage. Even a body shot is going to do a lot. If you want to run something else, take flamewalker. Imo spell pred is pointless in solos

^ what he said. I wouldn’t worry about stacking will, focus more on knowledge, additional/true magic damage, and movement speed. Will is good to get but is lower priority than those other 3

I've been playing this build recently but using phantomize instead of BoC and having the escape option feels very nice for this build tho not having the DPS from BoC does suck

is bloodstaind better than power of sacrifice? is the vigor strength buff not worth?
Sacrifice does too much self damage. 30 self damage vs bloodstained which only does damage to you when you swing. And shadow touch heals most of the self damage from bloodstained on hit.
I just have one question why riveted gloves and not rawhides?
Strength is good for this build. Hp and phys damage. They’re also usually cheap with knowledge. The description has a link to the kit up process where I talk about the gearing and stat priorities
are there some spells which are important in trio for warlock?
Most people just run the same stuff as in solos, but it depends on your comp and the current meta. Imo flamewalker is less important and bolt of darkness a little more important. Hydra is good for pressure and splitting teams. You can also run supportive stuff if you want like eldritch shield, bloodstained blade, and spell predation.

Kinda. You won’t be able to heal with hydra and life drain so you’ll need to bring a lot of meds. Also your damage will suck. Warlock is just pretty bad without gear so I usually recommend playing torture mastery instead and just kiting forever
Do you think plate lock could do something similar to this and it work?
Another warlock RUclipsr, Jar, commented on this video saying he tried it but it seemed worse than this set up. Imo platelock kinda sucks. At least for solos. It doesn’t do anything better than fighter except magic res and has significant drawbacks.

That stream was my first session in normals, so definitely HR. And eventually the juice dried up so we went back to HR anyways
Honestly this build is a rogue destroyer, I'm rocking 189 hp with true phys and true magic. One curse and two swipes with the kriss and they're done, honestly scary how strong thus build is.
Why is it every time i play HR i get lobbies like the first game shown 😂 i usually have trouble with speed clerics but might dip back into BoC for that

@@Euthafro I don't think there was a patch note, I actually saw a comment on a video and went and tested it. If you have antimagic on and your base MDR is higher then another warlocks magic damage bonus you actually will take no damage over time from the curse, only the initial damage from it.

You could use it I guess but it does a ton of damage to you. Bloodstained is nice because it only does damage to you when you actually use it. If someone runs away after you use sac you just lost 30hp for free

Looks like the kris dagger ball build is back. buff duration and flamewalk makes you literally untouchable close range btw. i had a kit i lost to a cleric, 70% buff duration, i had a 10 second flamewalk and the fire lasts 4 seconds on the ground, it was great.. i died because i couldnt get up a damn ladder

I suggest you try equipping malice AFTER you have all your gear on so you see how much stats it actually gives you. I believe it is really bad so you should check it
With this set up it gave me like 6 or 7% damage bonus and like 3% MR. It’s not that good so taking something else would be fine. antimagic would be good but I only fought one other magic user in the 5.5 hour stream and he wasn’t close to killing me
I prefer the falchion because I can hit people with it, yea warlock is fun, I trapped a guy in a vent today with the hydra and extracted like a rat on crypts lol, hybrid classes are just more fun, gotta learn druid now to complete the troll circle

Ive experienced so much teaming lately, I can't help but think it's the new playerbase but is so obnoxious
thats exactly what it is. we are watching the "steam" players runback the first 6 months. they are going through all the cope and doing all the BS we did.
I’m brand new and every time I fight I get rolled so usually I just tell people I’m not trying to fight and sometimes they offer to help and come along either to murder me or help me survive but never just go around looking for a team but yea prob new players game is hard to start

I could SWEAR i got teamed on by the same guy at 15:37! I cant quite recall the name but it was strange just like this one AND it was a cleric! Im almost certain it was the same guy.
There are players that run around and try to team every game. It used to happen all the time on ruins. It’s not exactly “pre teaming” but if you try to do it every game it’s functionally the same in my book

It does slightly, but without torture mastery + hp pot running he is back to full health very quick

You can bring legendary and below. So basically just no unique grade items. Purple is only epic

I keep seeing druid using panther when fighting warlock. Why? Panther can be killed fast plus you cant turn rat so you will need to used panther to get away
The panther’s ability is a silence. So if you catch a warlock with their book out they literally can’t do anything. Not even phantomize. A geared panther also 3 taps so you’re dead before the silence is even over

Litteraly yesterday i fought a warlock doing this build in almost full legendaries.
And he died 30seconds into the game due to me throwing 1 achilles and felling axing him.
With like garbage greens and blues.
Nice come up. You make one mistake vs barb with this build and it’s gg. But I think if both players play perfectly the warlock wins
@@Euthafro idk, i build barb like a rogue, just ms, true dmg with achilles and rage.
U get an achilles on a warlock, they phantomize and u just keep up with ms or rage.
Or if they being boc, they still lose to 40%phys dmg felling axe.
They win if i miss my achilles and stay in curse range after, but i can just decide to leave and come back later.
I feel like its more or less unwinnable on warlocks side if barb has ms.
Really though its just normals vs new players haha. I have started playing like a week ago and I can crush pretty much rush and crush new players 1-4 kills. Imagine you people have 2 years of expeirience ahead. And please new players if you are new to the game just learn the new map the Ice caverns
