Great video. I have that exact reel. Now a video on undoing a birds nest!
Great information Chris I started using one last year but a better reel does seem to help i had a shakespeare from walmart then got a better reel and it worked so much better
I’m 100% a Shimano guy but I do feel for the beginner the Diawa brake system is the easiest to learn on.
Thank you, Chris!
The first few times out in the spring, I always bring a couple of spinning combos or even a Zebco just in case. After a few months of not using a baitcaster, I’ll destroy a couple of spools of line just re-learning them, especially the ones with centrifugal brakes. Your idea is a darned good one.
What weight mono would you suggest for a beginner? I have a medium, and 2 medium heavy bait caster rods that I say I’m going to use and it never happens.
10 to 14 if your just starting you don’t want it heavy thick line will cause you issues just starting same for thin line. Also recommend using like 1/2oz to half oz weight if you go light you’ll have issues unless you got BFS reels
this. 10 being the absolute lowest. That 12-15lb range is plenty.
Sound advice!
What would be the preferred line to use on a bait caster, braid, mono. Etc.?
BS,It's going to happen at some point !
Tell me where I didn’t say that in the video? Because I literally did 😂
