    How timely! I just assembled my Hearthside floorstand yesterday and am thoroughly enjoying stitching on it today while watching your flosstube. I have gone through so many floorstands through the years - they have been finally been donated to Goodwill. The Hearthside stand is a game changer and if anyone is undecided I would say go for it.
    Thank you Shelia and EJ for sharing your love of cross stitch with us every week.

      Now, you are selling me on the floor stand, too. I have Lawry, Rolaframe, and the metal one (can't remember the name). I also have a large American Products wooden frame (as well as a ton of scroll rods) in the garage that I am seriously considering getting out to put back into service. I probably should do that before further investing.

    Thank you very much for taking the time to show us all these essential details, including the basting of the fabric. This is valuable information for all of us considering a significant purchase. So many times, we can buy things (stitching-related or otherwise) that we really have no idea of the set-up details or the best way to use a product. This video is much appreciated!! 😊

    Thanks so much for this episode! I've been wanting a new lap/desk/bed stand for awhile. I've had two other floor stands that only hold work on one side. One eventually gave way (although it was beautifully made), and the other I felt was a hazard to very young grandkids so gave it away. Looks like the holders EJ uses for her Q-snaps would also work for needlepoint stretcher bars, which would be plus for me. Thanks, ladies!

    • @SunshineStitchers
      @SunshineStitchers  7 месяцев назад

      Yes, the adapters will work for stretcher bars as well as other scroll frames.

      RolaFrame uses pins in the rods to hold the fabric. Those rods hold the fabric very securely as well. The construction is not as solid.

    Thank you both for putting this out. I have had both lap stand and floor stand for 5 years now (purchased from the original Calgary based home business) and have really appreciated the design, craftsmanship, and sturdiness. Additional pieces/parts purchased from Evernote have worked seamlessly.

    I like the look of this stand. The quality and finish of the wood. It's the first stand I've seen where you can purchase the 'grip' for q snaps. Do they do the same for Nurge frames I wonder? I've always wondered how to attach fabric so thank you Sheila😃. I much prefer to see and feel wood rather than metal. Thanks ladies. See you next time. Stay safe🤗🇬🇧

    • @SunshineStitchers
      @SunshineStitchers  7 месяцев назад

      It should work for a Nurge given that you can fit the top of the frame into the adapter. We will try it out.

      Shelia@@SunshineStitchers - this is a question I am often asked that I don't know the answer to because I don't use Nurge frames - could you let me know your result? I thought maybe if the pieces in the qsnap bracket were reversed under the knob, thereby reducing the size it might work but would love confirmation

    • @cyndielynn
      @cyndielynn 5 месяцев назад

      @@SunshineStitchers I was also concerned about it fitting over my hips as well. I like you am a big girl with a 200lb + weight. If you use the 20 inch extension bar for the q-snap it will actually be more than 20 inches because the stand is outside of the extension frame space. Correct. Had considered ordering 22 inch, but think the 20 may be okay.
