I hate how a game this good doesnt have a proper tutorial because its exactly the kind of game i like but im not used to playing rts's that go this indepth but the tutorial tells me 1/1000 of whats in this game so the last 3 matches against easy Ai (luckily only lost the first match since i just started) I've been stressing over simply trying to learn how to control my units well. this tutorial at least gives me something to rely on a bit. I thank you for that.
i watched halfway and wanted to ask about when to start deploying vehicles and other equipment. then i saw some German wheels and continued watching. the sniper part was silly. sending men one at a time wasn't a good idea. fun and informative, thanks!
Vehicles especially against players can make or break a situation typically I call them in mid game or to counter another. I love playing infantry but the best force always is a combined arms force. So if they call in a IFV best thing is call in one of your own a tank or anything with AT capabilities. Vehicles are good but they are expensive and easily susceptible to being destroyed via an atgm so becareful and constantly move them around. You also mostly want to use them as a base of fire unless rolling it up with inf. Even in that case it's extremely risky all it takes is a lucky rpg shot and boom. 800 or 1000+ points gone.
It is a lot of micro macro glancing at the map. haha I grew up playing RTS games so it is sorta second nature now, but I can't even fathom having to do 1v5's but I know certain people who are just that skilled. However there is always a place to start and I recommend playing easy difficulty 1v1s and just playing until you feel comfortable then medium hard etc.
Hahaha man this is relatable. I’m smooth brain as hell but this is such a fun experience with my buds even if I’m ages behind the curve. If we enjoy it, who cares how much we suck!!!
I am playing this game on a dual core laptop with no graphics card. Imagine my condition of playing this game lol. Anyways great video of the game basics. I manage to figure out most of the controls you mentioned my self in the USA campaign but honestly not the IRL tactics. I am forced to play on the lowest diff. with no hardcore realism and no fog of war. But yea enjoying the game fully even on a potato lol. I completed the USA and the Germany campaign and man the fighting in the last mission of Germany campaign was hell long. And yea that command of conquer GLA theme on background is satisfying lmao. also a question that there is no FPS mod in this multiplayer mathes?
Hi a small doubt when i press the e button it activates third person mode I zoomed in (still in third person) using the mouse wheel. it doesn't show fps view so Just how do I activate first person mode?
So, can you just set your units to automatic and just watch them go, or do you have to always move them around? And if not this game, is there one where you just sort of set them on auto and watch them fight?
So yes you can set them to free move by clicking one of the bottoms in the bottom right believe it's either like a hand or something which is free move then hold. (could be thinking of gates of hells icon tho each game is slightly different but same controls)
So for me when you zoom into first person for most vehicles at the top it should say 0. Thermal or 0. night vision. Press zero on your keyboard, boom should be able to toggle!
Yeah the game kinda expects you to know what to do RTS wise I hope this video helped you out! Currently hoping yo finish the CTA American capmaging sometime soon so stay tuned for that!
Sorry for the late reply- To load troops into a vehicle you simply select the men you want and hover over the vehicle. The mouse will change to a box and a down arrow. Then right click. They will make their way towards it. Double right click for them to run into the vehicle. If the interior is out of space they will automatically hop on the outside of the vehicle if possible. To unload the hotkey is G then (if I remember) right click where you want them to go. Men who are in the transport section hop out. You will then have to give the order again for the crew to dismount as well.
@@FolfiWolfie Thanks man! If I'm on a laptop how do I change the control for loading them? I checked the controls menu and I'm not seeing it. I know G is to unload the troops. I guess I may have to just buy a mouse. Unless you think I can connect my Xbox one controller through blutooth and use that. I really appreciate you reaching out I am going to subscribe to your channel just for that.
@@jameslong6800 Yeah that would be an impediment with a track pad. I'd check, but at the moment I don't have my laptop. I don't believe you can connect an xbox controller. But you could always try! I do recommend buying a mouse. There are always some nice cheap ones for like 10 bucks or something like that. For gaming mice I do recommend the Razor Basilisk. And thanks bro it means a lot. Glad I could be of service!
Hell yeah! CTA is a bit buggy so you'll have to bare with it, but it's so much fun with friends and rhe ultimate version is def worth it. I highly recommend warfighter really revamps and ups the difficulty of the game. Makes vehicles extremely deadly and useful to grab weapons out of.
@@houstonsmitherman6888 Dude yeah that's the best. I really enjoy using the unlimited range with the cheat mod then playing it normally since "realistically" most maps are small enough their irl ranges would span across it haha. Makes for some amazing screenshots and battles.
@FolfiWolfie so far my only gripe is vehicles got ammo and gasoline like yeah it's realistic but I wish I could have my units have unlimited ammo and gas
@@houstonsmitherman6888 ah well there are mods to remedy that lol. Cheat mod does that. I do like it you will almost never run outta gas unless you are in mutliplayer which is a game of its own and ammo isn't that much of a concern in call to Arms. Trust me men of war was a lot more unforgiving about that.

Watching this beginner tutorial made me realize I'm probably too slow for RTS games like this.

FPS mod? FPS comes as standard part of the game. It is a setting the host can do in multiplayer either to make it first person or third.
@@FolfiWolfie Ahh yea I noticed that. The third person is just the good old men of war style controls.
Hi a small doubt when i press the e button it activates third person mode I zoomed in (still in third person) using the mouse wheel. it doesn't show fps view so Just how do I activate first person mode?
For the first call to arms game you have to change the setting to be either third or first. It should be in the menu before you start up the game.
