Boy, talk about video recording interruptus! (your outtakes) LOL! Great vid, thanks for all the info as well as the time and effort to make and edit your vi! Liked and subscribed. I just purchased a white RadCity Step-Thru 3 for my wife a few minutes ago largely based on the very positive consumer feedback and satisfaction I've learned of in your and many other RUclips vids. Cheers!
Thank you for the video. My husband has the non alcoholic all through bike he just got it and it’s so fun. I have decided to go with a walk through because I found I had to skip a little to get on his bike. For our age at 53 I’m thinking either or us could use the walk through. He said he would use it and seeing you use the black one I’m going to get the black as well so if he rides it it will be fitting for him as well as me. Thanks so much for the video. They are on sale 200$ off right now. Ordering it tomorrow 😃👍
This bike is great for going up steep hills! I definitely have to shift to a lower gear and make sure the power assist is on high, but it takes hardly any effort to get up the 8-10% grade hills which we have around here. The battery life is really good. The longest I've gone in one ride is about 16 miles (some hills) and it only lowered the battery by 1 bar out of 5. I was using a mid-level power assist for this trip and pedaling at a very very easy intensity. On a normal day, most of our trips are within a 5 mile radius. I've made several trips this week and haven't charged the battery yet. I believe it still has 3 or 4 bars. This bike has a range of about 45 miles I believe, but I've never gotten close enough to testing that. I typically charge the (removable) battery overnight when needed.
@@pauloleary1828 wow that’s really cool! I’m planning on getting one myself to use to go to work 4 times a week for like 24 miles back and forth with one steep hill. I don’t drive so I’m really looking for a good bike that I can use. I’m particularly looking at the Rad’s website but not sure what bike to get to fit what I need. I like the one you have and watched a lot of videos about it but still can’t decide. Any tips? Thank you so much! 😊😊😊
@@themoodyreader43 We liked this bike for the step-thru design and cargo capabilities. The step-thru frame makes it very easy to get on and off, especially since you don't need to lift your leg over the bike when it's loaded up. It also comes with a lot of accessories directly from the factory, like the rear rack and fenders, which is a big plus. Some people like those fat tires that some of the other bikes have, but in my opinion that's not a necessity for 99% of bike riding.
@@pauloleary1828 I think you’re right. I was also looking into the Radmini also but the thing is that it doesn’t have the rear rack and I think that I really didn’t need to have the one with the fat tires either. Good thing that I came across your video to get me into your point of view about the bike. I’ve seen a handful of videos from like a year ago but yours is the latest I’ve seen to kind of help me decide what to get. Thank you for getting back to me. I think I’m getting the same bike as yours! Enjoy your bike and have a wonderful weekend!!! 😊😊😊
If I remember correctly, the 12 hour charge is to balance the battery. I believe I did that for 2-3 days, with very low mileage use, when I first got the bike. Since then, I just use it like normal and charge it until full and then unplug. Down the line I may do a few 12 hour cycles to balance the battery periodically. The battery seems pretty robust. Once you do the balancing, you can probably just charge it like any other device. Hope this helps a bit. I think one of the good things about Rad Power is that they have a good support team (as opposed to amazon e-bikes or smaller brands). I haven't used them yet, but it might be worth a shot if you have questions. Good luck!
5' 11". 6' on a good day :) I'm about 190 at the moment. It's a comfortable size. The seat is up all the way, but I get good leg extension. I've got long legs too. I know some people have replaced the seat and seat post with shock absorbing alternatives, so if for some reason height is an issue you may be able to replace the standard equipment. I doubt it will be a problem though.
From the factory, it's limited to 20mph. You can software derestrict it to 24/25mph. It can go faster than that under your own power but you won't have help from the motor.

liked the bloopers
Great review, got my Rad yesterday.
Consider detachable quick release pedal as an additional security measure.
Please can you tell me where i get this bike
Love the Andre sticker
what type of bags do you have on the bike?
Miles per charge?
Have you tried this going steep uphill?
And how far/ miles have you gone in a single charge? Thank you!.

I've driven mine 5 miles from new in 3 days. Still doing the battery charging they recommend. Am I doing it correctly? 12 hours for 4 days.

What's the top speed of this?

You may have sold me on this bike
I've owned one for a year. You want this bike.
@@gordoncheyne5567 are you happy with it uphill? I am thinking about buying it! Thanks in advance and have a nice day on your bike.

Yep the sweat factor is gone on a Rad City.
