I love Brisbane...I liked watching your Video .For myself being a local resident i get to experience this City's cool stuff regularly,, BUT I see my city of Brisbane in a very different way than most tourists would ever experience.There's a whole lot more to living in this great city that most tourists will never experience.This video is a great promo for Brisbane City ,that is probably what most locals take for granted .its good to see visitors having a great time here too. thanks for sharing.

As an ex Brisbane person may I say this.....Still has the worst public transport of any capital city in Australia. Traffic conjestion, even in off peak times. Slowest police responses in Australia. No upper House In Parliament which causes all sorts of issues for the general community. And the church influencing government decisions. And one of the dumbest things...no daylight saving. They just do not get it. Most anti daylight saving people cannot even explain what it actually is, yet have stupid reasons for not wanting it Curtains will fade, kids wont go to sleep, kids would be coming home from school at hottest time of the day. Chooks won't lay . Jesus how stupid can a place get and how ill informed. In fact it costs Queensland millions of dollars in business and other things by not having it like other east coast states. And Queensland wants to be called the "smart state"? Oh PLEASE. Brisbane is still in the dark ages, always playing catch up. Never been pro active. And on weekdays there are very few eating establishments open after about 7 pm. Tourists want that. Sydney and Melbourne, with all their faults, run rings around Brisbane. Not a bad video though all the same, but if Brisbane wants people to go there, they have to make it more affordable, and get the public transport to actually work, especially the trains, which are cancelled all the time.

You fucking piss me off. The trains are fine. It’s just that there are constant delays due to stuff like people jumping on tracks, or electrical errors (out of Queensland railways control). YES, there are plain clothes and uniformed police officers. I’ve see plenty. And they are guaranteed to be on Guardian trains that run every few hours out of the city. Now yes, daylight savings is annoying. But I’d say it’s not just Queensland’s fault. It’s the fact that the states don’t like working together. Last thing: Are you crazy? There are so many shops open beyond 7pm. Some department stores are open up until 10pm. It’s like that all week. Except of course Sunday which shops open and close early because it’s ‘traditional’ of shops to do so. Who wants to work on a Sunday anyway?

And you need to curb your aggression judging by your first sentence. And any railway that officially considers a train running up to 7 minutes late as still being "on time" for statistical purposes, has a few shady people overseeeing the system I would suggest. Queensland, with its admittedly outdated overground railway system, people jump tracks all the time. I was heading from Central station in Brisbane to Caboolture, and someone jumped track only last week. And at another period, another few weeks before, someone else jumped track on the Southside of Brisbane. It happens often. You however would argue that the overground system is old - which it is - and that that is the main source of the problem. (Which that also is) But the Government has recognised that, and is beginning to build underground systems adding to the additional above ground ones. Last thing, Queensland Rail does NOT, classify 7 Minutes as on time. Wherever you read that non-sense. A train can be up to 4 Minutes late and be classified as on time. Oh, and last time I checked, 4 minutes breathing room (On time running) is less than what NYC has to be classified as late. Brisbane is probably the most beautiful City in Australia. Brisbane's passenger network it like a model railway to NYC and indeed Sydney and Melbourne, yet they have more problems with reliability. (Maybe privatisation might get rid of some "dead wood" employees earlier, who are just hanging about until they retire on shitloads of taxpayer money, and just turn up to work with no desire to help anyone). And unlike Sydney and Melbourne, if something happens with a train on the Brisbane suburban network, it is basically bad luck for passengers stuck behind, there is no way to "go around" the stricken train, although to be fair, they do run wrong way on the Caboolture line very occasionally from Petrie to pass a broken down train. Sydney and Melbourne have many more options for doing that.Then we have the Sunshine Coast line from Caboolture. Only now are they duplicating the line from Caboolture to the north. This should have been done 30 years ago. Given that this is the busiest rail corridor in Queensland, when you include freight operations with the passenger trains, it is laughable that the tracks from Caboolture to Nambour are mainly single still in the 21st century, except for passing loops. And it wasn't that long ago that trains from Nambour had to stop and pick up at some smaller stations, then set back, go onto a loop until the down train passed, then proceed on its way. Jesus this is third world stuff. And this only worked out if trains were on time. You would never see this in most other parts of Australia on a suburban network. Anyway you hang in there Sunshine, loving Brisbane and loving QR with its brilliant "foward thinking". And before I leave you forever with my "narrow minded" thinking, (your words), isn't it ironic that recently. the guy who once ran Citytrain and stuffed that, Paul Scurrah, got shown the door from Virgin Australia, (as he stuffed that as well). I think the Queensland government needs to check the competency of who they appoint to run suburban trains a little better. Maybe someone who is so frightened of the Union would be a start. The way the union carried on with the recruiting of the latest train drivers was nothing short of bullying, and many of the recruits pulled out of the training because they didn't like it or could not handle it.
