Solving a Fraction Story Problem with Excel (Ice Cream Party Problem)

In this video, I show you how to use Excel to solve a 2-part fraction story problem: A school has 750 students and you need to know how many cups of each flavor of ice cream to buy so each student can have 1 cup of their favorite flavor.
A survey was sent out and you’re given the following information:
-1/2 want vanilla
-1/3 want chocolate
-1/6 want strawberry
If the ice cream comes in packs of 50 cups, how many full packs of each flavor need to be ordered so each person gets 1 cup of their favorite flavor?
How many cups of each flavor will be remaining?
Using Excel, we can easily format the cells to handle fractions and break down the question into simple parts to solve for the answers. See how I did it in this video!
