TOPIC-ANTERIOR-POSTERIOR AXIS FORMATION IN DROSOPHILA (PART-3) | CSIR NET |DEVELOPMENTAL BIOLOGY
MATERNAL GENES- Maternal genes are expressed in oocytes before fertilization. Two maternal mRNA Bicoid and Nanos help in forming anterior and posterior.
The bicoid mRNAs are located in the anterior portion of the unfertilized egg.The nanos mRNAs are posterior region of the unfertilized egg.The hunchback and caudal mRNAs are distributed throughout the oocyte.Upon fertilization, these mRNAs can be translated into proteins. The building-blocks of anterior-posterior axis patterning in Drosophila are laid out during egg formation (oogenesis), well before the egg is fertilized and deposited. The maternal effect genes are responsible for the polarity of the egg and of the embryo. The developing egg (oocyte) is polarized by differentially localized mRNA molecules.

This is the Best way of teaching
Thank u madam...u r really a good teacher...I am recommending u for all those students who can't effort coaching like me.
Thanks for clearing the concept in easy way thanks for opne free source always best teaching thnks lot
Thank you sooooooo much mam 🎉🎉🎉 for give us direction for csir👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌🌟🌟🌟
From ur good lectures support youngsters always maam
Only bcoz of u it has been possible for me to understand dev bio, as i was totally blank about this subject b4 watching ur videos
I am glad to know that. :-)
Bicoid helps in formation of head and thorax so in case where nanos was abscent & we inject bicoid, y head is formed in place of abdomen? Y not thorax?
Mam tum bahot acha padhati ho
Thank u so much I am very grateful to u maam
Thanku so much madam it is highly usefully for who cannot afford coachings like me thanku thanku
mam thank you for the small detalis
You mentioned that 7th edition is better and its actually to the point I had both the edition and material but you actually shared the right strategy how to prepare .
Thanks a lot mam .
Really appreciate your efforts ❤️
In the 3 rd case why there is no formation of thorax along with head if bicoid is responsible for head and thorax formation..
thanks a lot mam for your prompt response... very helpful indeed
most welcome !!!
U are done great 👏👏👏thank u so much mam
Mam, Is nanos a morphogen? If not then why?
Easily described mam.. Its too helpful..
❤️❤️❤️
Excellent and clear explanation mam
thank you so much ,maam
Thank you madam.
Thank you so much maam. very nice explanation.
Thankyou so much❤
Well done completely understood ...thanx a lot
Thank you mam for enriching us
Nyc interpretation...very helpful...
Awesome video.
Thanks for sharing
Good explanation mam
Thank you mam
Mam it is difficult to understand case 3 and case 4 of mutation.
rewatch
Thank u mam 👏👌 u are best
Mam ∆bicoid m bicoid injection in mid postn then
(Te-thx-hd-thx-ab-Te) Ye hoga na??? Agr bicoid inhibit nanos caudal and activate hunchbk ok but inject middle then to inhibition nhi hoga na mam conc. Gradient to dono taraf jayega hai na mam plz reply
THIS is really a nice initiative for the benefit of the students.
I have a suggestion that you do give the links of all parts of a single topic together, on a description box.
For example, this video "A-P Development of Drosophila" seems to be in five/six parts, but the comment section have link of one or two parts only. Rather it shows the links of other topics such as C. elegans or other one
However, this is a nice and commendable job. The quality of the video and voice clearity is very good.
Keep going !!
Kudos !!
Thank you.
for sure will try to provide the link in DB.U can go through the playlist. It will have all the videos sequentially.
Thank you very much.
Very good , Thank you
Then mam ∆nanos m to bicoid express karega cz bicod and nanos inhibit each other
(Ac-hd-thx-hd-Ac) hoga mam plz reply mam?
May God bless her till eternity 🙏🙏
mam, I have a doubt in mutation case 1. I understood that head and thorax is replaced by abdomen. however, my question is that why acrone is replaced by tail in bcd- case? is it a printing mistake or is it that acrone requires expression of not only torso gene but also bicoid gene??
YES , the concept is that, acrone is a terminal part of head. so if head is not forming, then how the terminal of head will form.in this way it is interconnected with two factor.so that is y there is a tail formation instead of acrone.
is it clear too u???
so the case 1 is correct.and there is no mistake in that. reply me if u got the point i explained in above lines.
hello mam.. your vdo's are very much informative and well explained.. its much btr standard than shomu's biology.. keep udloading vdo's on important topics. kindly add vdo's regarding biological techniques in terms of exam point of view so we can solve experimental questions..
ma'am please upload video on axes and pattern formation in amphibia and chick. thank you for these amazing videos.
10:06 how come the mutant embryo turn into normal embryo just by injecting bicoid? the cells have already differentiated to telson and abdomen at the Anterior sided🤔🤔
Bicoid also creats a gradient from anterior to posterior direction..so abdomen is not converted into head in the influence of bicoid..why??
Ma'am what is the relation between torso and bicoid protein? When bicoid is degraded, acron becomes telson and when bicoid inserted into the middle part then also acron becomes telson. Why ma'am?
Ma'am in third case why Acrone wasn't formed when bicoid was injected in place of abdomen and what about thorax ?
Ma'am in case 3 mutation why thorax is not formed ?
Mam..Why is nanos not a morphogen??
Thank you ma'am
In case one- telson is also formed in the place of acron...in the absence of bicoid...
Thanku mam 🌿🌿🌿
mam, in case 4 were nanos is deficient why there is no expression of bicoid protein in that region and head, thorax dint form.?
in case 4,it is clearly mentioned in the diagram that ,there is a formation of head and thorax.and if head and thorax is forming then there is a expression of bicoid.nanos is deficient so only abdomen formation will not take place.
nanos was previously inhibiting the expression of bicoid in the posterior region, but as because the nanos is absent in this case.so there is no one to inhibit the bicoid concentration to diffuse in the posterior region, that is why instead of abdomen, there will be extension of thorax formation in that abdomen area due to bicoid gradient. so phenotype will be face-head-thorax-tail.
Understood mam.. Thankyou for you effort...
Thank you madam♥️
mutant case 3 me to kya bicoid middle part me inject krne se wnha already prsnt nanos ka funtion suppress ho jayega.. jese ki abdomen ki jagah bhi head ban gya..
Mam in the case 3 why there is not development of thorax? And also in case 4 why bicoid is not travelling to posterior since nanos is deficient to inhbit it?
Mam in mutation case 4 will the thorax expand and take place of abdomen if nanos is absent ? And the fly will have two sets of wings?
can you suggest some books for development biology for reference and better understanding.?
thank you
Thank you Mam. Can you tell me the book name to learn regarding this topic for Net
thank u ma'am
What is the dual function of Oscar genes in Drosophila??
Thank you mam
Such a great explanation of the concept.
But I have a question regarding to the mutation concept.
In Case 1 there is mutated Bicoid mRNA or degraded Bicoid mRNA on the anterior side , so there is no inhibition for nanos and cudal so they express and form abdominal region.
But in Case 4 there is absence of nanos so there is absence of abdominal region.
Why Bicoid mRNA can't express itself in abdominal region in this case regarding to Case 1 where Naons protein express itslef in the absence of Bicoid?
Thorax region is suppose to get continue till the end where nanos is absent. And bicoid is responsible for thorax, that is why we are getting acrone-head-thorax-telson.
so in this way, where nanos is absent , there is a diffusion of bicoid, and that is why there is a development of thorax.
Thank u mam
Mam, I have just started preparing for CSIR net. Can you tell me which are some indispensable books that I should read for clearing this exam??
pathfinder part-1 and 2
BIOPHYSICS (PATHFINDER)
and read specific and important topic from foreign author book with respect to important units.
In case 3 ,why head develops.. It should be thorax
Thank you very much mam
Welcome!!
Ma'am I'm very confused about 3rd case of mutation 8n which bicoid is injected in middle part of the embryo so there should be the sequence telson-head-thorax-abdomen -telson ......bt u explained that sequence is tail -head -tail .....I watched many times bt my confusion is still there....so plzzz clear my doubt ma'@m plzz 😰
Actual ans
(Te-thx-head-thx-ab-te) hoga
mam you have mention that bicoid, hunchback and caudal are transcription factor and morphogens , what about the rest of three maternal factor are they going to act as transcription factor and morphogens or not
depending on A-P axis, they have their role in that respect. You can consult gilbert for more information.
At 9:04 after mutation in bicoid gene their will be development of acrone because torso gene is not mutated then why the telson development is shown at place of acrone?...also the vdo is very helpful...thank you so much for a great guidance ma'am
BECAUSE acrone is formed when torso is expressed with bicoid. And if bicoid is not present then torso will result in telson
@@TEACHINGPATHSHALA okay thank you so much Ma'am 😊
mam please es topic ka lecture hindi me bnaye totally English smjhne me problem mujhe ho rhi h
torso + bicoid= acron, torso + nanos = telson. At 12:54 , telson develops even when nanos is absent, please explain.
you have understood in a wrong way, there is nothing like torso + bicoid = Acron
Torso itself is a gene that secretes Torso protein which is responsible for Acron and Telson formation.
Acron and Telson fate is determined according to the placements of Bicoid or Nanos, so even if nanos is absent, Torso protein understands that Bicoid has been placed to form Head and thorax, so automatically Torso executes Acron formation on anterior side and telson formation at the posterior side.
This is my understanding but one thing is sure, your formula ( torso + bicoid and torso + nanos ) is truly a wrong understanding.
Thank u ma'am..
welcome!!
Understood mam. but in nanos- case, ( case 4 ) tail is still getting formed. is it because while acrone is the extension of head, tail is not considered the extension of abdomen?
Thanks mam for your response
YES,mutation in nanos will only affect abdomen ,not tail.
Cause of telson portion or tail is affected by torso gene and do not show any influence due to the caudal and nanos.
Then why in case of bicoid mutation acron is affected & in its place a telson is produced?acron is also controlled by torso gene not bivoid..pls ans if pssibl
mam if there is mutation caudal gene then what will be the result ....
There will be lack of those structure which is suppose to form at posterior side due to caudal expression. some how the posterior axis will not be called as normal posterior side.
Thank you mam
Mam Will You suggest Some Effective Books For Csir Net preparation... still i m preparing With Arihant Publications Book on Net JRF life science.. But i does seem to have proper for Guidence For the exam... Because its matter is different From the Level Of exam Paper.. Actully Your Way Of explanations and Analysis is amazing Regarding the exam.. So ma'am plz suggest some good books... And also give your reviews on path finders publication books.... Ty mam..
pathfinder is very good, its my opinion.every thing is well explained in that book
There are some foreign author books too, depending on the particular unit.
kuby-for immunology
albert-cell bio
primrose-RDT
Watson-molecular biology
Taiz and Zeiger- Plant physiology
Gilbert- Developmental biology
Maam, Can you give me gilbert 7th edition?
prefer latest one.
@@TEACHINGPATHSHALA but only said 7th edition will be enough
Well i don't even have any edition so please can you give me the best for me
