Many people with depression and anxiety deal with intrusive thoughts. This quote by M.A. gets thrown around a lot and it’s just toxic positivity. It’s like saying “Good vibes only!”
@@codaina Exactly, there's many ways to go about protecting yourself from intrusive thoughts, good diet for one as Tracy puts it, dietary patterns, meditation and exercise as well, there's also herbal remedies as well, we need to remember that back in his time, there was no hardcore medication to treat depression like there is these days, they didn't have our pharmaceutical meds so they had to use more proactive methods. Yayy to these kind of videos! And it's spot on! Over the years I've applied everything you said about treating depression (high doses of omega 3s, probiotics, Magnesium supplementation, and a few more) and I definitely noticed an improvement in most symptoms. Antidepressants scare the hell out of me after having bad experiences with them, so these suggestions are so nice to learn about. Thanks!
@@SilviaColon93 The brands don't make a difference. Just look to see that they are highly dosed (check out Dr Tracey's Video on omega 3 for dosages) I take them all everyday, except for vitamin D. I take that once a week only. It's really simple, you just take them right after waking up and that's it.
That last point was the best for me, layering solutions. I appreciate the point that if you try one thing and it doesn't work, you presume all things don't work. Good explanation for why it is best to take a layered approach.
Yep, I had started eating better, exercising, getting sun daily which I didn't use to do, saw minimal results after a month and dropped everything. Ended up in a downwards spiral after a while, now I'm back to being hopeful, this time with a lot more patience and learning new things to try
I felt this way about a layered approach for years when so many doctors I went to just wanted to dispense pills and I would ask about other lifestyle changes I could make to help the depression symptoms. They had nothing but just "take the pills". I would even tell them I went for walks 3 times a week, counseling, support groups, and the doctors would tell me "If you would think it would help". REALLY?😯🤦♀️ I couldn't believe it and said "To treat other conditions like diabetes, doctors don't just say take insulin, they would also give instructions on diet, exercise, ect." The doctors just shook their head and ignored it. So I'm glad I found Dr Marks she makes the MOST sense.

I just went online and ordered Curcumin. I'm building multiple income streams, so understanding this gives me another layer to use to build my life up again. I purchased and started taking an effective K2 as well. One thing I learned in life is to follow academic information rather than heavy emotional - type appeals. Thank you Dr. Marks. This series is timely for me as I am weaning off of a Bupropion/Duloxetine/Lamotrigine cocktail that I have been using for 4 years with only brief sporadic results. Hopefully using some of these natural approaches will be part of an alternative remedy to this long period of deep darkness.
I notice a big improvement with my mood when I make homemade hot chocolate. Using a heaping teaspoon of cocoa powder. I get cravings for it now and its a good indicator for me on how my general mood has been. Unfortunately, the caffeine content makes my anxiety worse so I'm not able to consume it often.
I have been less obsesed since i swapped nesquik cocoa for natural cocoa! I would go crazy for chocolate milk before- and i would use tons of nesquik, it was really bad. Now i still drink chocolate milk and mokachinos, but i dont get the deep, bone wrenching craving i would get before! It has certainly helped me with obsesive behaviours, mainly with over-playing videogames.

I know there is something to inflammation -- I just took steroids (Prednisone) for my asthma and noticed I immediately felt much better regarding my depression! I feel a little better by taking Ibuprofen on a regular basis.
Your videos are brilliant. Ive just ordered this product as anti oxidants are so necessary! If it isn't depression its other nasty ailments! Thank you again.
I stopped eating turmeric because of GERD. I wonder whether the curcumin supplements would be safe for me. VitaminB complex supplements and coconut oil really help with my mood already.
Changing my diet enabled me to get off six prescription drugs I was supposed to be on for life. This included pain pills, depression medication, steroid creams and more. Cutting out the processed sugar and processed foods can add to the quality of your life in many ways. It’s not easy to do but definitely worth the effort. I also lost 40 pounds and I have kept it off for eight years. I started with Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s books and RUclips videos. This is not a quick fix it’s a lifetime commitment. That being said. In time you will not desire and crave the junk foods/processed foods. You actually train your body what to like, but it will time and effort.

In the 2nd week I accidently stepped upon your magnesium video. 2 days on magnesium supplement, combined with two weeks on Golden Milk produced some good results. My anxiety was reduced, I stopped sweating heavily and my sleep pattern is getting better.
thankyou so much mam
its been 30 days of intermittent fasting yesterday (16:8)
i use almonds and pumpkin seeds before sleep
I use hypnosis and meditation daily
now i am able to concentrate well and i am avle to sleep well at night thankyou so much mam now i will use turmeric in a detox drink..
Thank you for this info and also for making the playlist featuring foods that help mood. I am not a fan of antidepressants (or pharmaceutical medications in general, actually) so I appreciate all of this information immensely. 🙂
It's fascinating how you made this video days after I received 4 roots of curcumin as a gift from my neighbor who grows it wild in her garden in Ecuador, South America. We're aligned in the spirit. All praises! I take a bite everyday...... and not only is it delicious, it's aromatic. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this video to confirm I am doing something right for my well being. Thanks for sharing this video!
YESSSS I LOVE TURMERIC!! I’ve been putting it in my lunchtime salads and I’ve been losing a pound each week! I don’t use turmeric for depression, but I use it for weight loss and bloating! I also use black pepper and that’s how you really activate the components of turmeric. Another way to activate turmeric is with heat! ☺️
Cayenne brings heat. So does a mineral rich diet.
How do you use turmeric in your salads Jen Klen? Do you just grate it like carrots?
In powdered form at grocery store im going to sprinkle it on salads.
I just went online and ordered Curcumin. I'm building multiple income streams, so understanding this gives me another layer to use to build my life up again. I purchased and started taking an effective K2 as well. One thing I learned in life is to follow academic information rather than heavy emotional - type appeals. I see a counselor and take meds because of your videos Dr. Tracey... Thanks! I liked, subscribed, followed, and I'm now receiving real help.
It just feels so hard sometimes to try and change your ways. Depression has been a lifelong battle for me but this video is so helpful and I am so thankful for your work and dedication to helping people like me :’)
I'm sorry about this I had depression too and after learning side effects of depressants I decide to use herbs I'm feeling better now and recovering
😩 I didn't even think about "layering" I've been looking for a 1 stop shop for years & with that mindset, dumping myself down the rabbit hole further. Thank you ma'am for who you are and what you do.
Yes indeed. I think the one stop shop approach holds a lot of people back and is very discouraging. All the best to you! 😊
A well-balanced life seems to be the key.
This is why i like internet. Thank you Dr, I sincerely value your work!!
Thanks a lot Daniela 😊
Thank you for this...I've been dealing with anxiety and small bouts of depression since finding my mother unconscious and unresponsive one day last April. Im definitely incorporating this into my routine ❤
That's so tough. Wishing you well x
God bless you
I am so pleased to see a psychiatrist suggesting natural health remedies instead of pharmaceutical drugs
Kudos👌
I cannot believe this has consistently work for me I love this lady on my other phone I forgot to like all the videos I'm just been going through and liking everything that helped
It’s probably that you just enjoy the choc and it’s not having like, an immediately medicinal effect but glad it works!
You are an incredible teacher. Thanks for sharing this with us!
I want to hear EVERYTHING you have to say. Thank you so much.
I love you, Dr. Tracey. Thanks for all your videos. I've been suffering from bipolar disorder for a very long time... Your videos are the best.
I started taking Magnesium and had an immediate improvement in mood and concentration the first day
Thanx for being a medical doctor not pushing poison!
...the problem is discipline...in the core of other distractions, how to change ,improve, etc my discipline, when i have low will, low self esteem, etc, how to improve my character, ...hard stuff...when i am 49,close to 50, live alone, live in a social isolation now for a too long, more then two years, no job, nor i have stamina, nor energy to look for job, and fight for myself...i am living day by day, passing by, i have that cash, so I can live like that , but for how long ...?! what is the best therapy to take, i have been on medications, and some kind of psychotherapies few times,in a years, but obviously not a good ones?!...but i need that kind of help again...i need to start again, from that zero, ...to restart again ,and again... 🙏🙏🙏...thank you for your videos, and efforts...God bless you,... ❤️🌹💐
Can you help me?
Hello doctor tracey marks, it's a pleasure to watch your videos, I'm Brazilian and I'm extremely grateful for the subtitles.
I've been going through a lot in the past year. I've recently began taking turmeric. My sad spells have pretty much disappeared, and I feel more amp'ed up. There has definitely been a positive effect. I take 500mg at night, and 1 in the morning. I'm going to continue on with this, but wanted to report this result.
Dear dr Tracy, thank you. Wealth of information, but also kindly clearly and proffessionally shared, thank u!
Doc, This is easily the best video I've ever seen on this particular subject. Please continue producing these thank you.
Dr. I love watching/listening to your videos before bed they make me feel so relaxed. Thank you for teaching us so many helpful things ❤️
You are brilliant and an amazing communicator! Thank you for these videos!
You are such an unbelievable gift to RUclips
Thank you Dr Marks. I've been taking turmeric and curcumin for other health reasons but I didn't know it was that effective on my depression as well. I may need to double check my dosage then.
I eat turmeric daily its amazing i mix it with pepper. I also supplement lions mane and ashqaganda along with many medicinal mushrooms along with cordyceps etc
Thankfully inspired Dr. Tracy, I will be implementing this natural way into my daily routine. As someone who started intermittent fasting 3 years ago I found this to be very helpful ❤
Thanks doctor.
I'm going to try pure honey and funegreek for my anxiety.
I'm also going to consume a huge amount of pumpkin.
I will also try to drink pomegranate every day.
Good luck Dr!
In west Asia we use curcumin as an antibacterial as well. It’s a miracle spice 🤩
I'm glad to see more drs talking about natural remedies!
Layering approach makes so much sense. Thank you for these videos.
This women is a genius
Yes tumeric helps. I definitely felt a lift in my mood & joint pain.
Really enjoying your educational videos...I have had depression in the past and have since then been interested in learning more about prevention and helping others learn more as well...it is exciting to see that research is making real headway with effective natural treatments
Yes it is exciting to see research move in this direction
These nutritional psychiatry videos are great . Easy things to add to slowly improve lives. Thank you Dr Marks
I just love your videos. So informative and presented so well. Thanks very much for making them!
Thank you for doing this series. It’s super helpful.
I know there is something to inflammation -- I just took steroids (Prednisone) for my asthma and noticed I immediately felt much better regarding my depression! I feel a little better by taking Ibuprofen on a regular basis.
Thank you doctor. I am so happy, I found you. 💗
2:42 Wow I've been sharing your video's to family members from Daytona Beach Fl. How coincidental, thanks for all the knowledge, happily subscribed!
I am very glad so came across your page, very informative, very helpful and straight to the point. I appreciate your work!
Your videos are brilliant. Ive just ordered this product as anti oxidants are so necessary! If it isn't depression its other nasty ailments! Thank you again.
I been taking this supplement for 3 years and magnesium it helps out
Dr. Marks, thank you so much for this video series! I love the way you explain things, I've been getting a lot out of it!
Nice! I like to add turmeric in my food, especially for lunch along with black pepper, cayenne pepper and sometimes ginger powder.
the last 15 sec is very important!!!! thank you thank you
You are truly a wonderful person.
I regard your videos to be the voice of reason from the lens of a very smart and caring person.
Thank you Doctor
Your videos are brilliant. First video I’ve seen recommending multiple steps to improve such as meditation herbals and diet
You are very direct and well spoken. Thank you for the video!
That's what i like about DR Marks she gives you all the options not just drugs like most doctors!
Congrats!! great job
You’re my new doc, thank you so much. Love your wisdom and bravery in discussing taboo subjects.
Love ya 🌻
Please let me thank you for awesome videos. I started watching when my father was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic at the age of 66 granted it was not a suprise and he managed a decent life untill his retirement. Love your channel
Ah Ha! Thank you for explaining about the multi layered approach. I was really thinking that nothing was ever going to work. God Bless You Dr. Tracy Marks.
I never new that food or the imbalance in certain areas would cause depression. I connected the dots after a few years. If i had known how important the impact foods or lack of vitamines can impact your moods. Now they just give you the pill to fix your mood. That is just symptom resolving.
Here in India we used this golden gift from ancient times and still uses in currys and milk.
👍🏽 I love curried food
Hi Doc! Can you do a follow-up video on KETAMINE? This medicine's efficacy is getting better and better. Many of my clients with long-term depression/anxiety are completely changed by these infusions. No major side effects or problems. The research is also getting stronger and stronger. The efficacy rate is almost 90%. Thanks and love your stuff!!!
What clients?
I have it. But I’m a fighter. I’ve been taking turmeric weekly for a year. Thank you for reassuring me.
Roses on your pillow.
good for you i have a sign on my door when i go out in the morning "Never Give Up" and "i'm getting younger as i get Older"
Guys I have actually tried this. It works and Vitamin D too. Thank you Dr. Tracey :)
I love how you get your point across ❤
