    You must not have many trees where you travel? 😅 I carry both the 75 and 150’ cable and often need the longer one to reach a clear patch of sky.

    If you remove the orientation part of the receiver, how are you going to point to dish towards satellite? I dont think it is that easy to set orientation manually.
    I would rather use 12 DC to 48 DC converter rather messing with circuit board.

    Why don't you just use a DC to DC converter?
    You get a 12 volt to 48 volt step up converter

    30yrs as electronic engineer but ... my god man buy a real soldering iron like a Weller with temp control and no need to sharpen a tip, also never use a solder sucker(snot puller)for surface mount... this video gives me nightmares.
