I was going to replace mine but I noticed when I removed the sensor that there was a small amount of white dust, perhaps ceramic from the sensor. Anyways that dust was in the little recess that the sensor sits in. I blew that dust away and hooked the same sensor back up and it runs fine now.

If you wire the victron charger controller just putting the wires on it they will fall off all well. That happened to me.

I monitor my two separate MP2 systems with a web browser but the name of the MP2 is not displayed on the overview screen. Seems to me that the system name would be one of the more important things to display there.

On the main over view with the large center circle of the battery ... can you tap on that large circle and have to two shunt readings show in the list?

Do you think it matters in which direction is the Orion is mounted? I found it is much easier to screw it 90 degrees sideways.

a hexagonal crimp tool will solve your problem. square terminal=square crimp. Round terminal you can use either an octagonal (not as common) or a hexgonal crimper. ... or pins ha ha. Thank you for the video sir.

You can conect 2 pad in serie of 24 v and you have a pad of 48v

Quick question, in the dc dc charging from starter battery to living battery if the engine is running and the starter battery gets disconnected does the dcdc charger still works? Could you test this? Been searching for days on info on this on the inter webs and couldn't find any info.

Probably if you run a 48v system best to add a secondary 48v alternator just to charge the leisure batteries, dual alternator brackets are quite common and 48v units can be had. Just need to place a cutout interlock on it that removes the excitation for when its not connected to a battery.

the problem with a charger at less than bms cutoff is that the battery will reach 100% but, if the charger doesnt cut off, you then low voltage overcharge the battery. If a company sets those defaults I wouldn't buy the BMS as it indicates a fundamental lack of understanding. Zero isn't a magic point, you can charge lower but at a much reduced value. Equally you can't charge at full rate at close to zero particularly if the battery is fairly full.

ip1 for me, don't like the cables permanently attached, bit of a mess.

Before you consider the Daly BMS take in mind that the app only works on ipone, yes there is an Android app but that app hasn't worked for at least 2 years.

I paused at 4:30 in to comment... Victron's Orion manual clearly states that with 4 or 6 gauge wire, you'll need to use a hexagonal crimp ferrule. I do not believe pins are as good as the recommended, properly crimped ferrule. (I'm actually surprised you didn't know(or mention?), other styles of crimping for different styles of terminal connectors).

great informative vid, one of my cells charges and discharges much faster than the rest, allso the wire resistance is way down on that cell, does anyone know for sure if the con wire settings are able to balance this up? and if so how to go about it, I have mine on 72v bike

Personally, I would put the battery fuse closest to the battery however that is just what I like

I could only wake my BMS up by first disconnecting and then reconnecting the ballance lead. Neither the switch nor applying a charge would wake it up after it had gone to sleep. The battery voltage for 4 cells was 13.3v. Anyway, thank you for the switch connection information, I will add this to my setup, but I will have to remember the balance lead to remove power and reset my BMS.

I’ve seen a few people getting confused in these comments so this is to clear up both of these are used due to conductor class find stranded cable needs to have something on it to make a proper connection. What one you use is based on your personal assessment. If you are properly qualified to be installing these you would know the differences so some of these comments you really should be hiring someone to help only because it shows a fundamental lack of understanding on the technical side that isn’t a bad thing but you need to be properly told about it. Now empty the lithium battery to its BMS cutoff 10.5V and watch your alternator fry on tick over! OR Drive fast and when the BMS senses one of its cells is at 3.65 and suddenly cuts off and the surge blow the diode pack - this post is like looking for a gas leak with a candle.

My personal recommendation is going smart shunt especially if you ever consider other products from victron because the muinit you want a GX device that gives you advanced monitoring you need to be victron

Have you tried the JST style ferrule crimpers? You get a termination similar to your pin crimps rather than the square cross section
