Look into screen recording software, works a treat.
Im out lol,i was about to biy one of these too. Think im gping D6e truma now and pay the extra . Thanks for the video , just in time
This is what i need voor my set-up
I have a JP diesel combi heater, and to be honest I wouldn't recommend them to anybody either. I have had many issues with poor running, and at one point I had the Fire Service called out because the exhaust was smoking so badly. Although heating on mains is OK, when using diesel, it is smelly and causes my eyes to be irritated if left on for too long. I don't think that I have exhaust leaks but I'm sure something is leaking from the combustion chamber somewhere. The thermostat on the hot water does not seem to work properly as even on the low setting, the water is extremely hot. As for customer service I would say that they may seem helpful on a superficial level, but they just go through the same scripts every time, without much in the way of technical support. Do not expect them to acknowledge any fault on their part and realise that they will not refund you in any way if you believe the item is faulty. I would not buy another one. Stick with Truma is my advice.
We’ve had exact same experience. First thing they do is point to a bad installation.
Really appreciate you putting me off the JP. I dislike Truma but it seems the only option to replace an old 2004 model. Blooming annoying as the number of moans I hear about the digital codes on the new gear is concerning. Big business at its best maximising their margins.
Yeah, avoid the JP Heater.
Buy cheap buy twice.
Got 4 cells of LF280Kv3 from Docan's chinese warehouse. I have not checked the capacity but they are working fine. What I did was I ordered fresh stock. The production date as per QR code was May 28, 2024 and I placed orded on July 2, 2024. I think ordering fresh stock is the cure for this issue. I ordered on ddp terms and cells took around six months to reach me in Pakistan. They dispatched after fifteen days of the payment/order. I communicated with Daisy. You did not share who you contacted in Docan. I am satisfied with the cells so far but not with their shippung services

Why do you need to do any extra pre-assemvly top balancing at all? I mean, after the BMS is connected, its integrated balancing curcuitry will anyways engage and do its job - just as it will be doing during/after each usual duscharge-and-charge cycle.??
I had 14.2 volts to the input but no output. Reason came back as "low input voltage" and/or "engine not running". I even enabled the engine running switch (to always connect the unit to the vehicle battery weather or not the engine is running) and still no output. I thought I had a defective unit and returned it.
I have 14.2 volts at the XS input but it will not charge. Keeps reading "Low Input" voltage. Any ideas?
Coincidentally I'm setting up two batteries using all the exact same parts you have in this video. Definitely glad I watched this lots of extremely useful information thank you very much for making this video.
Cool wish I could help I am in N ga
Don't buy a j k. total piece of shit Pushed the start button.Start button turns red, and beeps like it's working, but no power comes through. Tried to access the app but it requests a password, but there's no way to set a password. Total piece of shit. Locked out. Total piece of shit.
I soldered the terminals to the wires and there is still a small difference.
It is a very good video, thank you. Unfortunately, it shows how dishonest Victron is. 1. The panels with 4x8 elements are usually rated 100 W. Why the 4x9 is 185 W? Also ridiculous test result is from 3:10 to 5:20.
I purchased a bms 12v 100A for 12 v 100 A battery. The BMS discharging the current but not charging the battery. How to solve this problem?
I'm also looking to buy one off this MAN truck ,I'm in London and will follow you with the build and I will follow 🤘😜
Excellent, looking forward to this👍👍
Thanks for showing this way to charge a lithium battery ; I want to do the same for a back up lithium battery for my Bluetti power generator. You have made me feel safe to go with this method. Great details and showing how it can be done! THANKS
Whoah, I was waiting for this video for 2 years!
You probably don't need that fan running
Thanks for this, just about to start a build. I’m going to get some large sticky red dots to signify the +ve terminal to minimize the risk of a mistake.
Absolutely superb installation that blends perfectly with the existing set up and very much future proofs our motorhome. Have thoroughly enjoyed working with you to spec everything, even before we took delivery of our van and couldn't be happier with the very neat and tidy install that has exceeded all expectations. So happy we chose you guys for our install 😀
Impressive in all respects except I’m turning green with envy 😉
You and me both! It’s a great van! :)
hi Roger , where di you get the copper busbar from as need this from my disconnect to the t class fuse same as yours
I have a dc-dc 50 amps and it decides to do 7 to 20 amps whenever it decides to, even on 20% battery, its probably a config issue but l really dislike it
It might be the adaptive charging kicking in if the input voltage is low.
Hi there Nigel very cool
Thanks Jon!
Fantastic work guys as always, and excellent tidy installation.
Thank you!
Great work as ever guys, great idea for the fridge👍👍
Thanks Ady!
Your screw gun is in the way , I’m trying to see where the black cable from the bms is connected to?
The black cable connects to the outside negative terminal.
Thank you I got it all hooked up, I used your design on your wood battery box it worked perfectly. I built 4 boxes in total with eve 304 AH cells , thanks again.
How can I get BMS . and how much is the BMS.i am in Nigeria.
Check Alibaba, I’m sure they ship to Nigeria.
Great work as ever Nigel
Thanks!
Very nice work guys
Thank you!
Thanks very good information 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Will this run on a pi3
I believe so.
Very helpful thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Before you start a video, be sure to know all details off your battery. Now you act as a clown.
Glad you enjoyed the video! :)
Thanks for the information in the last two videos about the Orion XS, just a note I had to crank the volume way up as your voice was very quiet..... Also quick question when you mention D+ from the vehicle can you explain that a little, versus engine ignition ... thanks
Apologies, we had an audio issue with that video that we didn’t pick up on until we had published the video. Either a D+ or ignition on signal will work. Some alternators output a D+ on a small terminal on the side of the alternator.
@@offgrid_powerthx for the info on D+… will have a look at my alternator and truck wiring
Hi! I'll have one house bank with 12 V (Multiplus II 12/3.000, (still) REC-BMS) and a second one with 48 V (2 x Multiplus II 48/5.000, Lynx BMS500 NG/ Victron LiFePo NG), wanted to install two cerbo's and two TFT-Touch - am I right or is this also possible with one cerbo, one TFT Touch?
You won’t be able to monitor two different systems with one Cerbo, unfortunately.
Nice video I Sign up for the detailed Smart Shunt settings PDF and I didn't receive one as yet. Please inform. Regards,
Apologies, our system should have sent you the link to the document. If you email hello@offgridpower.solutions, we can send it to you.
I have 2x 16s LiFePO4 200A Daly BMS in parallel, was top-balancing one pack offline and when I put it back on the battery bus the charge and discharge status turned off. Now the strange thing is that it is still allowing discharging and charging, but it just reports that they are disabled. I even disabled the charge and discharge in the app and then they stop, but it's always reporting them as disabled now. The other BMS still reports them as enabled too. Haven't tried factory reset yet, but yet another way to encounter this, though in my case it still allows operation.
A factory reset might help or it might be a faulty BMS.
What about for about AGM battery?
We’ll try and get a video for AGM out sometime.
@@offgrid_powerthat would be great!
Donde comprar
You can buy them from Gaslow directly.
No sound issue here Clear as was the explanation content Thank you Doing the task right now so most useful
Glad it was helpful!
Hola, yo tengo 5-6 metros desde la bateria de arranque hasta el Orion XS y he instalado 25mm2 XLPE ¿es posible que me haya quedado corto en seccion?
25mm2 cable should be good for that distance
Thanks for your reply, one last question: My van's alternator is 130A. Would I need to install a 200A one?
@ You should be OK. You could always install the XS and see how it performs and then if needed, upgrade the alternator. You can always throttle the XS back in the meantime for when you’re able to upgrade the alternator.
Where to buy.
You can buy directly from Gaslow.
Small screw in tight places- use a small piece of blue tack to attach the screw to the screwdriver. Pulls away once screwed in and you can remove any remaining blue tack.
Good idea!
Even a spot of thick grease can be enough to hold the screw in place on the driver. I used to use water pump grease.
Interesting video, thank you. Seems a lot of work when a Mopeka sensor can be put on the bottom of the tank and connected via Bluetooth to the Cerbo. Very similar in price too. We’ve had Mopekas on our Gaslow tanks for several years now and they work great with no need to run wires or drill any holes. At least there is another option which can only be seen as a positive thing. Thanks again.
I've heard that Mopeka and Ruvvi tags are hard to come by in the UK
@@holdenman8850 we bought our Mopeka sensors about 4 years ago from LPG Shop. We have Ruuvi sensors which we bought direct from Ruuvi, shipping is expensive unless you but over a set amount. Ruuvi are expensive but are excellent and the batteries last a long time.
@@holdenman8850No, they are easy enough to find. Not particularly accurate though. Might be a gas thing. I have 2x 11kg tanks and they fluctuate all over the place. Doing down to 30% then back up to 60%. Can’t say if these Wired ones would be better, or if it’s just the way gas expands and contracts.
@@nja9529 not sure as I'm not in the UK, maybe reseat the sensor with a bit more ky jelly.
Yes, Mopeka is a good option!
