Im going to India on February! I love people from India, my step dad is Hindu and I absolutely fall in love with this country, culture and language ! :) Im from Poland. Happy Diwali! :)
@Arjun Chauhan where did it said, I can't see in any Indian text. Hindu is not a religion, the word is came from Britisher to describe our culture(as in history), and vedas didn't mention any religion like hindu they told real knowledge not belief(Hinduism is actually a way of life not a type of belief). India is not a religion country for people to believe but it was a seeking country were so Many people came to know pure knowledge in there. If God is their there is no need to make a religion or any belief to get the pureness of almighty but you have to be pure in heart and soul.
Happy Diwali 🪔!! I went on a overnight cruise in Vietnam 🇻🇳 last year and I met a group of Indian travellers. We danced and sung all night; to a mixture of Aussie electronica, and traditional Indian music 😁😂. Today my friend sent me a message: “Happy Diwali”, which brings me here 😄
Just completed a virtual field trip with my 7 yr old son & India is absolutely beautiful. Their Diwali (Festival of lights) is priceless… This culture is about sharing, giving & loving. Thanks for sharing…
Jay German..I'm Indian .we 95 million people of our state West Bengal don't have DIWALI... WE HAVE KALI PUJA FESTIVAL.....do you have any idea or experience of our kali PUJA FESTIVAL???
@@thomasninan4813 i have a different reason to not like firecrackers. They cause pollution and harm nature. We can spend thousands on firecrackers but can't plant some saplings hardly costing anything . When lord Ram returned home with his wife Sita and Laxman after 14 years of exile ( why and how, a long story), people welcomed him back by lighting diyas with ghee ( say lights). People celebrate the day as diwali by decorating their homes, puja, lights.
Diwali covers a 5 to 7 days period depending on how the Tithi (lunar phases) run. First Day - Gau Vatsa Second Day - Dhan Teras Third Day - Narak Chaturdashi Fourth Day - Diwali/Deepavali Fifth Day - Goverdhan Puja Sixth Day - Bhai Dhoj
My curiosity was sparked from the strangest of places. Sims 4 put in new free holiday stuff all for Diwali. The items were so lovely that now I want to learn about the real celebration. Such a beautiful holiday!

Thank you very much! I wanted to know more as my good mate is off celebrating with family. I love that it’s a moment to pause and celebrate the good in life 🧡🧡🧡🧡
You messed up Hinduism and Indians.Indians are not only Hindus(although they are in majority),but also Sikhs,Muslims,Christians,Jains and Buddhists. We are one big heterogeneous country united under the banner of India.
The word Hindustan is actually a name given to India by ancient Middle-Easterners ( read Assyrians , Persians). It refers to the Land in and around river Sindhu (or Hindu in ancient persian - read Zend Avasta). It is not a reference to the Hindus or Hinduism. Hinduism is a term coined during the British Raj (not necessarily by the British). It has nothing to do with Ancient India.

India is so fucking awesome. I wish it wasn't so poor and overcrowded, otherwise I'd live there. Festival of colour and festival of light. So awesome :)
That opening shot of the Taj Mahal is a hard photo hard to take. The second it opens, its COVERED in tourists. Probably helps to have the pull of Nat Geo behind you when you show up....
Like any New Year celebration. Diwali is another celebration for the new year. Hoping that all forces of evil will be silenced and defeated. And assuring that goodness and righteousness will prevail.
