You have been missing out if you have not been reading jeremy adams' flash run. He really understands wally and his history as being the flash. Also, you can really tell that he did his research on his assigned character unlike some other writers currently working for DC.
Best comics of 2022:
Rogue sun by Ryan parrot and Abel
Junkyard joe by Geoff johns & Gary frank
Flash by Jeremy Adams
Action comics by Philip k Johnson
Fantastic Four Full Circle was my favorite comic this year! The story was a great love letter to the FF the art especially the colors were amazing! I know a lot of people would disagree but She-Hulk Rainbow Rau has been really fun. Strange and Ghost Rider have also been good and Grim by Stephanie Phillips have been good too!
Had the chance to have a long conversation with Jeremy Adams when he decided to do some signings at my comic shop (he did it for free too he’s such a nice guy). We talked about Flash, and it’s so clear he has a lot of love for Wally West and I hope DC gives him more work and keeps him on the book. I asked him if there’s any Marvel characters he’d like to write, and he said he’s always been a fan of Danny Rand.
Plus he also co wrote flashpoint beyond so he’s doing great so far.
Would love to see what he'd do with Iron Fist.
I love jeremy adams flash book its been giving me everything I ever wanted especially as a huge fan of wally west as the flash its been freaking fantastic also like Tomasi who understood the Superman family, Jeremy adams actually understands wally's kids irey and jai west and seeing them go on fun adventures makes me so happy that I can't wait to see what happens next.
Great vid as always man. Here are my pics for 2022:
Beat ongoing series: Daredevil by Zdarksy
Best tpb: Fantastic Four full circle
Best one shot: Super sons annual by Tomasi
Best indie comic: Follow me down
Honorable mentions are Action comics and Dceased war of the undead gods
It's a tough call between PKJ's Action Comics and Mark Waid and Dan Mora's World's Finest for me. The AC Annual issue and #1050 were definitely my favorite single issues this year though. Really excited for the future of Superman. Really hyped for more AC and also Joshua Williamson taking a break from all the big stuff for a classic Superman solo.
Batman/superman worlds finest has also been really good
First also I really liked fantastic four full circle
Flash & Action Comics r easily my most anticipated books at dc rn. I look forward to them every time they pop up
Here are my favorites of 2022:
• Favorite Ongoing Series: The Flash by Jeremy Adams
• Favorite Miniseries: Ben Reilly: Spider-Man by J. M. DeMatties
• Favorite One-shot: Superman: Warworld Apocalypse #1 by PKJ
• Favorite Single Issue: Amazing Spider-Man #83 (this was writer and drawn by Patrick Gleason)
• Best New Series: Ghost Rider by Benjamin Percy
I've heard great things about the new Ghost Rider series, might have to check it out.
Glad you enjoyed The Last Ronin, another great use of the Old Man formula. Think I’ll go check out Rogues, heard some good stuff. Nice list, God Bless and Happy New Year!
You are the 🐐
I know the conclusion was really dumb but I loved the first arc of Chip Zdarsky's Batman. I even loved the ending because it was the most "because I'm Batman" moment I've ever read in a Batman comic! 😆
I love the way Zdarsky writes Bruce and Tim but Failsafe was so lame that I wasn't the biggest fan of his first arc.
@@TheRealComicBookGamer what about it did you not like? Aside from the ending I mean haha
@@MikeOrtego Just everything to do with Failsafe felt so dumb I couldn't get into it.
@@TheRealComicBookGamer that's fine and to each his own. I've really enjoyed it but that could be because I haven't really enjoyed the main Batman Title in a very long time! So anything even remotely good seems amazing to me. As a huge Batman fan I'm just happy to get something readable again lol
I wasn't a huge fan of Failsafe but man everything with Zur-En-Arrh was awesome. In the main and back-ups.
It's been a while since I watched one of your vids. You've grown so much! Lol
Thanks lol, I've been around for a long time now.
I loved the last ronin!
You should make a video about stories/issues/series you’re excited for in ‘23
I wish I still had the enthusiasm and passion for (modern) comics as you clearly do in this vid.
Like you, I mainly read X-Men and Spider-Man from Marvel and there's just been nothing worth reading to me.
I was so happy when the Fantastic Four came back, but Dan Slott writing it killed my excitement for their return and I haven't been interested in any of what I've heard since they've been back besides Ben and Alicia getting married.
What you said about Wally West and Linda makes me want to check that book out.
Thank you for the vid. You and Casually Comics are among the handful of comic channels I've whittled down my comic watching to. You're both very earnest in your vids and I appreciate that a lot.
Definitely check out Flash, it's clear that Jeremy Adams understands and loves Wally West. Thanks for the kind words! Hope you find some comics that can help reignite that passion.
Daredevil and wolverine for sure.
That’s it, I’m sold on The Last Ronin. I’ve never seen or read anything TMNT except that one animated masterpiece of a movie that came out in like 2011 but I’m set on this book.
my favourite ongoing is moon knight by jed mackay
The Last Ronin was awesome. I only recently got into reading comics with Origin and Weapon X.
Thoughts on Joshua Williamson taking over Superman?
Everything Williamson said in his interview sounds great so I'm excited.
U read any other Kevin Eastman/IDW tmnt comics? I always thought those hardcovers for the IDW stuff looked so nice
I still haven't come back to superman. Really shows how bad they screwed the kryptonitan pooch with Clarke and his son.
Action Comics is great right now, you should give it a shot.
What are your thoughts on Captain America Sentinel Of Liberty! Honestly thought it's been pretty great so far tbh
I haven't read it because the creative team didn't spark any confidence and Marvel has burned me too many times in recent memory when it comes to Cap. Maybe I'll check it out eventually though.
@@TheRealComicBookGamer it’s been great so far. There’s a more down to earth aspect of captain America, especially with the first few issues, and even tho there are a bunch of retcons and Bucky acts a little out of character, it’s still awesome
i haven't finished the comic yet but did you ever check out the Deadly Class tv show?
I'm gonna be honest tbh, I am not really a big comic book nerd. I read comics very casually. The only comic run that I read consistently is the Boom! Comics Power Rangers run. I do love DC and Marvel comics tho. My favorite DC comics were the flash, but admittedly, I fallen off from flash comics....I think the last flash comic I read was flash war....when Hunter Solomon came back. Yeah, that was like 2 years ago lol.
Marvel I thought Civil war 2 was okay lol.
Have you read captain america sentinel of liberty? If so what are your thoughts on it?
I haven't checked it out yet. I've been burned by Marvel too much recently when it comes to Cap and that creative team did not inspire confidence.
Gotta pick up Rogues
It's so good.
I’ve been watching some of your old videos and I gotta ask, do you even like Guardians of the galaxy movie?
First one is a 7/10 in my book and I really liked Ego and the father son story in GoTG2 but I didn't really like anything else in that move. I initially went hard at that movie because when it came out everyone was saying it was the best thing every and I just thought it was an above average movie.
Is Superman Up in The Sky any good?
Yeah it's pretty good. Still has some rough Tom Kingisms but overall it's worth reading.
Nah ur wrong the current wolverine book from ben percy is excellent and so is the current cap run
good
junk yard joe looks cool
It is very cool.
Do you ever play Star Wars i used to watch u play battlefront 1
Just finished my 14068th play through of Republic Commando but no, I don't really play 2015 Battlefront anymore.
