Ice Cream Man is consistently one of my favourites the past couple of years, and my favourite of 2022. It would've been my favourite of 2021, as well, if it wasn't for Windor-Smith's Monsters. A very close second favourite of 2022 was Starhenge.
Lot of great titles in your best of 2022, Rob. I will have to check some of those out I have not heard of before. 20th Century Men sounds very interesting and I totally agree about the current Punisher book. I was a bit suprised that the Moon Knight book did not make your list. That title is probably my favorite ongoing right now.
thanks for the Ice Cream Man recc what feels like years ago now, but such a slept on comic, deep storytelling, thought-invoking with great art, never stop recommending it IMO

My top marvel books of the year.....toss up between punisher and avengers forever. Avengers forever has them strong 1992 royal rumble vibes. DC.......I don't read a ton of DC....so nice house , lonely city and surprisingly, monkey prince. It's like the comic version of everything I like about 2d fighting games. Image.....ice cream man easily, twig secondly. It's simple, but I love it and can't wait to share it with my son. The rest of the indies....I loved Godzilla vs mmpr, the cowboy bebop series and barbaric. Overall top book of the year for me, do a power bomb. Can't sing it's praises enough. I would have Batman, Poison Ivy, Strange Academy, and hell yeah Human Target, otherwise, completely on board. You're the best at what you do Rockin' Robbie! Keep on Rockin'!!
Above Snakes was my personal fav this year. There are even possibly better books all up and down this list. That Piskor stuff! Ghost Cage. Great year for Wrestling comics. Junkyard Joe--I think Robbie is right about this one, too--great insight there.

Awesome list! I haven't sorted out more than top 5 but I have 5. One Star Squadron 4. Above Snakes 3. Eight Billion Genies 2. Crimson Cage 1. Do a Powerbomb I have all the issues of Agent of Worlde in their way to me. Also Blink. I've developed a mad crush on Hayden Sherman's work after Above Snakes. Looking for everything now.
I think this list shows there hasn't been those one or two books that really rise above the crowd this year. Lots of good books but probably no classic. I do enjoy Ice Cream Man and as a body of work it does deserve more recognition. I think the best Marvel book is Strange Academy and I'd have like some Jeff Lemire on there. Was Mazebook this year or last, or Little Monsters.
Little Monsters was this year, Mazebook was last year. Speaking of Lemire the one book all these RUclips reviewers, ALL of them, sleep on is the Black Hammer universe. I don’t get why but it’s like it doesn’t even exist.
