Uhmmmm whaaaaaat????? I can't believe that beauty was hiding under that blue paint. You knocked it out of the park. It looks so amazing now!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for participating
Wow! What a beautiful transformation. When I first saw the drawer pulls I thought “oh no, they’ve got to go” but OMG painting them black was genius and they are absolutely perfect for the piece.
The most extreme transformation yet ! I'm in awe at how beautiful the dresser turned out to be , wow! Congrats on your partnership with Good Bones....go girl !
This is a most excellent flip, Miss Flips! Picking out the details with the black paint was inspired. It looks soooo good. I hope you’re relaxing today and taking time to breathe deeply. I feel your pain and you sound like me two weeks ago. But the piece is gorgeous and you turned a piece of awful into something someone will love and get many years of use. Really great job, Marissa.🌸
You did AMAZING JOB with this ugly piece! So much work! But it turned out BEAUTIFUL and UNRECOGNIZABLE! The wood details on the base are awesome! I love it! Just sand the sides of the drawers to remove the existing flowers... AMAZING TRANSFORMATION! Thanks so much for sharing
This would be my vote for best flip during the challenge. I sure get it when you say to find a piece that doesn’t need all that prep. I do find when I insanely find this type of piece that I get a clearer idea of what I want to do when I have to play with it, non stop for 2 days!
Despite the cut corners I still really love this piece. I think you have the best style/most talent of any of the flippers on youtube I've seen. Hope you can recover from a long days work.
I literally feel your pain on sanding and scraping. Those pieces are fun when you can take a long time to get them done but in 2 days? Dang! Worth all your effort, Marissa. It's a show stopper now!
Thank Thank Thank you, I have the same exact dresser. It is the last piece to a set my mom (now deceased) had. She purchased it over fifty years ago. I was really trying to figure out what to do with it and not throw it away. I love this design!
It’s beautiful, you’d never guess the mess it was before, an excellent transformation. And that paint looks great I’ll definitely be trying that at some point, if not just for the cute paint cans haha.
Ugly Duckling, YES! I kept thinking, OMG, I would never, ever, tackle something this rough, I'm sure glad she is though, because it's so satisfying to watch 😮🤩. You definitely saved it from the landfill, and looks amazing!
Awesome transformation! It is beautiful. I am working on a vintage buffet with lots of scroll detail that was a monster to strip at least 3 coats of paint. I used a metal nail file to get stuff out of cracks and ruined my nails as well....LOL. I should be finished soon, but near the end I decided to change the color and am waiting for the paint to arrive. I have another piece lined up and did buy a heat gun, instead of a gel stripper. Wish me luck!
Wow, I can’t believe that transformation! I usually prefer all wood over painted accents, but I’m loving the black on this one. I am curious about why you didn’t use a chemical stripper instead of a heat gun. Seems like that would have saved you a lot of heavy lifting. Great flip!
@@TheMissFlips I'm with you on that. I use Citristrip because it's safe to use around pets and doesn't have any fumes. Because it's non-toxic, it doesn't eat through layers of paint as fast as the heavy chemical strippers do, but if you cover it with plastic wrap to keep it from drying out and leave it for a few hours, it will go through multiple layers of any kind of paint and/or finish.
Fabulous, paint. great video. Oof! Quick Strip! 15 minutes! No on the heat gun. The hardware cleaned up so nicely. I wish they all did after boiling and scrubbing but sometimes, still have to paint. ♥️💙 BTW: YOU WIN! Thank you for cramming!
@@TheMissFlips after wieghing all the options, removing stain/varnish/latex is environmentally challenging. Heat guns release so many toxic fumes. Then if you use citristrip it takes 40 feet of plastic to cover the furniture overnight- yay plastic. So the few times i strip, i throw the respirator on and get it done fast. There is no winning. Though, Christina, with Pretty Distressed just put out a new video with a new "soy" stripper that I think is environmentally friendly and seems to work very effectively! Check out her latest video.
Awesome transformation!🎉 I love how you just worked with it and painted the black detailing rather than try to get all the funky silver stuff out. And omg that mini iron is so cute!! 🌸 great job on this flip 💖
OMG ! WOW! WOW ! What a Transformation Girl With All of your Hard Work it Sure paid off 👍👏 It Looks Flipping AMAZING I ❤️❤️ IT Hopefully you Can take a Breather and Rest up You Deserve it girl . Good luck with the Challenge 👍 Can’t Wait for your Next Video 😊
This was a beautiful transformation! I'm, by no means, an expert at flipping furniture but I was wondering why you chose the stripping technique you used instead of another? From what I've seen maybe using a chemical stripper would have been easier. I don't know. I'm just asking the question. Thanks!
Thank you so much! Yes, it definitely would have been easier, but I try to be as eco friendly as possible so I only use chemical strippers when I absolutely have to, like in the case of rare pieces or woods
I usually enjoy watching other people flip and restore furniture like me, however I need to say a few things, so here is ky critique. So you stripped the original brass hardware, only to spray paint it black, the base could have been sanded or better yet stripped back and done in a clear wax, then if you still feel it necessary paint the remaining portions of the dresser black. Veneer repairs should never be blunt cut, always cut at an angle as it hides the repair much better. Most of all, take the time and do it right the first time.
