If you've ever read about Mike Leach, and his team culture, he breeds each player to be autonomous and make decisions out the for themselves. And coaches are bred that they have a scheme and message to get across. Clearly there's nothing wrong with the coaches or scheme, when the team has been steamrolling to this point and lost by over 30 points to a team that lost to a USC team they beat. He puts it on the players, because they didn't remotely execute, and played well below their pay grade..
What if one of his players did this? What if a player said " Coach Leach got out coached in every way today. He's gotten a fat head from all the praise. He thought he could just show up and win with no effort". I wonder how that would fly with the fans.

Does anyone really believe that some unknown force mysteriously gripped the WSU team collectively so that they all played badly en masse? If that's possible, then isn't it also possible that the entire coaching staff were mysteriously gripped by the same unknown force and sucked at coaching? It's easy to blame it on the team as a whole. It's much harder to admit that your coaching staff is not what it's cracked up to be. The truth is that if the players all played badly, it's the coaching staff's fault. It always comes down to coaching. Own it like a man.

Hell if they rebound and get to ten wins he should still be up for COTY considering how spotty Falk has been, the receivers and OL have both underperformed and we were supposed to drop off after '15
Jim Walden? He had one 8 win season in 9 years at Wazzu. Leach is about to have his 3rd in a row. Leach inherited the worst program in the country. Well maybe the second worst behind Kansas, but either way the job he has done is incredible. He is not Nick Saban or Urban Meyer and he tends to have games like this where his team just doesn't show up such as their losses to FCS teams and yesterday. Overall though he has done wonders for Wazzu.
