Thanks very much for your tutorial. Exactly what came up today. ABS and that annoying Airbag light. Great to see Aussie content on the tube. Keep up the good work mate.
Had the same problem with my VE Wagon...ABS Stabillity Ctrl fault. Replaced rear ABS sensors and rear loom but this was not the problem. This can be caused by low amps in the battery. I replaced the original battery with a new AC Delco one from Holden dealer and this fixed the problem. Have had no problem since....these newer cars need spot on electrical supply. Even if the battery shows good voltage it may not have the amps....best to get it load tested first.
Yup happened to mine too. Quite a few faults popped up when I had a battery on the way out. Gearbox too iirc. Definitely test your battery before anything else!

Hey mate love the videos! Quick question, got me a ve Berlina 06 model and me engine light came up, put it in the scan tool and come up with “p0171 system too lean” any idea on it bud?
@Abz Hama Haven’t dealt with it on this car but maybe oxygen sensor or exhaust gasket leak? Search it up on any of the Holden forums, I’d be surprised if it hasn’t been discussed there. Good luck
Great video! Thanks. Say, I purchased a scanning OBD2 tool and I get a "U0101 - Lost Communication with TCM" fault code. Do you know where the TCM (Transmission Control Module) is located in the VE Commodore? I can't find documentation anywhere, and Google has not been my friend with this one. Please let me know.
My holden has gone into limp mode, is that beacuse of my abs light and stability control? The diagnostic scan said rear left speed sensor, and front right speed sensor.
Having stability control fault come up every now and then but it's not logging the code, as soon as it happens my car goes out of wack. There also is a misfire but I'm getting that fixed a bad coil I think.
Can I ask a stupid question, I have replaced Left rear sensor, still error light. Then checked cable, has continuity on all poles. Do I need to ask the dealer to reset the codes?. Or disconnect the battery for 30 min?. Car is 2012 SSV. Thanks
So this problem has popped up again after I successfully replaced a faulty sensor about a year ago. I thought maybe it's the other wheel sensor but that's reading about 1.16 resistance. I took the wheel sensor out I replaced about a year ago and that is reading nothing. Now I don't know much at all about electrical. Does the nothing reading mean a faulty sensor as well? Cheers
Do you why I would be getting a abs/stability control fault only when I apply the smallest amount of throttle? I can turn the car off and leave it for 2mins and start again it goes away but once I start driving it comes back on..
Not sure why it would be coming and going like that, are you clearing codes when you turn it off? It's normal that the ABS/Stability Control fault wouldn't come back on after being cleared until you move the car somewhat, then the bad sensor will show a much different reading to the other wheels and trigger the code. Sounds like bad wheel speed sensor or related to it.
So this morning I started my VE Berlina 2011 an I could tell immediately something wrong engine sounded diff an kinda shaking then check engine light an stability control issue popped up. Is this the same problem an should I just go ahead an change wiring
Hi quick question. I just changed the wheel speed sensors on both sides. I started the car up and it’s still showing the abs and esp faults. Do I have to clear the codes and if I have to how do I clear the codes. If it’s not the sensors. What else could the problem be.
@Walkinshaw 457 Ssv Ideally if you can, clear the code and if it comes back immediately you know it hasn't been sorted. If you haven't got a tool to clear the code with then I believe after some driving and a number of start ups the code will clear itself if sorted - not exactly sure on how long that would take though. If not the sensors then could be the wiring as shown or I believe it could even be an issue with where the ABS Sensor picks it's sensor up of the back of the hub being dirty/not conducting correctly for a signal. Haven't personally tried sorting this way yet and not sure how much access there is but perhaps some compressed air in the hole where the senor goes while turning the brake rotor could clear it out enough. Good luck mate.
Hopefully the fault will clear after a few drives. If it doesn’t i will blow some air in the hole that the sensor came out of as the old sensors had slight rust dust on them. Cheers for your help with this.
Browney's Garage thanks anyway. Any information is good information as I have no idea as I was hoping all I had to do is plug and play. Just trying to narrow down the problem starting from the easiest first.

Because everytime i turn & music is playing it will skip the song / turn volume up & down all the time its very annoying please get back to me when u see this mate cheers!
Could be but I was extremely lucky for my issue to only be this. Definitely sounds like you have some sort of wiring or earth issue going on though mate, couldn’t hurt to start checking over all plugs, connections etc. Sorry i can’t be more precise than that mate, wiring can be a dead simple fix or an absolute nightmare!
hi brother, Thanks for the video. I have one question, I am having stability control off light in my dash for holden commodore 2008.completely deactivated even if i press the button to activate. No issue with the ABS its working fine. Could it be the bad wheel sensor or any other issue?
Hi mate, thanks! As far as your issue I am definitely not an expert on these but to me I would expect a bad wheel sensor to always throw an ABS Fault as well. Is there any engine light on as well? Have you scanned it for codes? I'd be thinking there may be another bad sensor in a system other than the ABS/brakes but haven't personally dealt with this is sorry.
Sorry I can't be more help but I'd start by picking up a code reader if you're looking to fix this or any other issues that come up in the future. Should help to give you more info on what's wrong. There are very cheap units on eBay that may be ok, the one I have is slightly more expensive but has been amazing - here's a link for that one - ebay.to/2ocr3OA Hope it works out mate, let me know if you get it sorted 👍
Hi mate I changed the rear wheel sensors and cables still getting stability code error. do you rekon it could be the front sensors that need replacing? Has your code ever come back since the repair?
You'd really just have to get a code reader/have them read by someone to narrow it down mate, could be much cheaper than throwing more parts at it unfortunately. Sad to say that yes, mine did come back. Seems it's normally the sensor or wiring but looking like mine has to be difficult and have another problem, have played around with it and these still seems fine. My next guess, and remember I'm a complete hack and it is a guess, is that it's the ABS tone ring that the wheel speed sensor reads from in that back corner. Unfortunately it means popping the axle out of the rear hub to inspect/replace and so I haven't got round to it yet and just put up with it having no ABS/Stability Control.
@@BrowneysGarage mate I'm a hack just like you. Finally hit 400k km. I have an obd 2 reader for some reason traction control error never shows on that. Axles stuff is too complex for me im gonna try the front sensors will let you know how I go.
I haven’t sorry mate, to be honest I’d just be searching and rewriting an answer from elsewhere that I hadn’t tested. Best of luck with it mate and good to see these things still going well in the high kms, I’m nudging over 290k kms in this one now.
I could be wrong but I never had a limp mode caused by the rear sensor, may be worth scanning to confirm? If it is a wheel speed sensor and you replace it the code will clear itself after some driving. Good luck 👍
@@BrowneysGarage ok thanks. so I'd actually run out of lpg on my way to the servo, but I had stability control senor limp mode before I ran out of fuel. RAA tech reset two fuel pressure codes and the stability, i no longer have an issue...strange.
I have a 2010 ve omega. Sometimes when I start it (especially when cold) It idles bad, sounds like its about to die and the entire car shakes. An error appears on the screen about stability control, then check engine. I turn the car off then back on and its fine? Seems to only happen when cold, mechanics are stumped, Happens about 1 times out of 20.
@Ryan Licastro Hi Ryan, this was done through the code scanner. I have been using an Autel DiagLink, here's a link to the one I use. Pretty good unit, good luck mate. ebay.to/2ocr3OA
@@BrowneysGarage hey Browney. Great vid mate. I've got the VE series 2 wagon, the misso has a subaru forester. In regards to the OBD2 scanner, have you found any codes that the unit can't diagnose? I'm looking at buying the unit because our cars are starting to get a few years on them, and now that holden is pulling the pin I want to sort out as much as i can by myself. If you were going to buy a new scanner today, would you buy the same one? Cheers.
@MrWah79 Hey mate, I’ve definitely been happy with the scanner I picked up. No expert but we tested it out pretty well and looks very well supported so should cover all codes as far as I can tell, now and going forward. Only downside is the cost and that it then costs roughly $10 for each new manufacturer you want (comes with one but would need another for Subaru for example) but seems pretty reasonable still, to me anyway. @LtDustyCro Thanks mate. Haven't had any experience with it sorry so anything I can say would be purely from searching as I'm sure you've tried.
From memory the yaw sensor is near the bottom of the b pillar ..very small sensor with a TX fitting rod sticking out of it ...do not confuse it with the bigger rectangular sensor ,as the rectangular sensor is for side airbag system.
Bloody great video mate thank u
No problem 👍
Hey mate love the videos! Quick question, got me a ve Berlina 06 model and me engine light came up, put it in the scan tool and come up with “p0171 system too lean” any idea on it bud?
@Abz Hama Haven’t dealt with it on this car but maybe oxygen sensor or exhaust gasket leak? Search it up on any of the Holden forums, I’d be surprised if it hasn’t been discussed there. Good luck
Hey buddy thanks for your videos, quick question is it just one wiring harness for both rear sensors or one harness for each one ?
@Rolando Reyes Thanks mate. Just the one wiring harness covers both sensors.
I don't sorry mate and I'd just be starting with Google too. Try JustCommodore forums or an owners group on Facebook? Good luck mate.
@@BrowneysGarage Thanks for the quick reply. I am on JustCommodore, but can you suggest a good, (or how to find a good) owners group on Facebook?
My holden has gone into limp mode, is that beacuse of my abs light and stability control? The diagnostic scan said rear left speed sensor, and front right speed sensor.
Hi mate I have a wm Caprice V8 and it's doing the same thing but when the codes come up no power pls let me know??
I have these warnings flash up when i accelerate onto the highway then a minute later it goes away. Could it be a Battery issue?
My engine check light comes on every time I start the car. How does one get it off? The car runs fine so it must be reporting a misfire perhaps?
Hey brownie..Were did you get the abs wiring loom.
Links in the video description but I've copied it here for you too, good luck - ebay.us/Pr5rZB
Can’t guarantee I’ll be of any help so not sure you should thanks me yet! But no problem mate, hope it gets sorted 👍
Browney's Garage thanks anyway. Any information is good information as I have no idea as I was hoping all I had to do is plug and play. Just trying to narrow down the problem starting from the easiest first.
Awesome vid very helpful, just wondering what type of scanner do you use? I’m forking out 110 for every scan at a work shop? Also would it work on a ssv ve? Thank you sub to you 😊
Hey mate, the scan tool used in the video is an Autel Diaglink - will pay for itself in one use! Thanks for watching 👍
Hey mate my 07 6ltr calais I brought last week after 1 week faults started coming up
Stability control makes engine run rough an check engine appears.. stability control first then about 5 mins check engine comes up.. weird thing is turn off an start again it's fine for about 5 mins then same stuff
Sorry mate you’d be best to chase this up on a VE owners Facebook page/forum. Sure there’ll be much more knowledgeable blokes on there who can lend a hand. Best of luck 👍
ive been having saftey mode issue now for almost a year, ESP off , saftey mode power reduced, the car has 19s and is lowered, with full Xforce exhaust, can i jsut go get the car tuned and stop it from going into saftey mode or do i ned to put 17s back on the car and the stock exhaust to fix this issue in your opinion (car was baught with all these mods alrdy done, i wouldnt waste money on a omega personally)
Bro can you please fix my ve ssv! Ive payed a mechanic over 4k and the problem has come back after 1 year of not using it after the problem was fixed
Hey Browney i have a VE & my airbag light comes on everytime i start my car does that mean 1 of my plugs is not in properly like how u showed in your video? Because everytime i turn & music is playing it will skip the song / turn volume up & down all the time its very annoying please get back to me when u see this mate cheers!
Could be but I was extremely lucky for my issue to only be this. Definitely sounds like you have some sort of wiring or earth issue going on though mate, couldn’t hurt to start checking over all plugs, connections etc. Sorry i can’t be more precise than that mate, wiring can be a dead simple fix or an absolute nightmare!
@@BrowneysGarage Cheers brother i will check over it tmrow & let u know how i go 👍🏽
This is fuse #1 in the F1 A10 SIR internal valve unit, right or not.
hi brother, Thanks for the video.
@@BrowneysGarage Thanks for the reply. There is no check engine light. Does it need to reprogramme? Anyways thanks a lot for your valuable comment.
Sorry I can't be more help but I'd start by picking up a code reader if you're looking to fix this or any other issues that come up in the future. Should help to give you more info on what's wrong.
There are very cheap units on eBay that may be ok, the one I have is slightly more expensive but has been amazing - here's a link for that one - ebay.to/2ocr3OA
Hope it works out mate, let me know if you get it sorted 👍
@@BrowneysGarage Thanks mate. Appreciate your response.Sure i will check the link and try with the scanner. :-)
What scan tool is this and where can I get one thankyou
Great vid.. how did you find the faulty sensor.. or did I miss it😋
Sure it was in there but it’s been a while, scanned for codes and indicated it was likely the sensor.
I’ve got voice in displayed on my dash it won’t go away. Does anybody know how to get rid of this
Thanks for the vid, going to give this a go and see if it helps with my ABS issue also.
No problem, and good luck mate 👍
Very good, no meu carro não marcava nem o hodômetro também, Brazil ✌️
Anyone know what size torx bit you need for the abs sensor?
I've got a vy SS and my TCS pops up and stays on lose power and not save any idea
Thankyou, your videos help me a lot, Im subscribet too.👍😊
Hi mate I changed the rear wheel sensors and cables still getting stability code error. do you rekon it could be the front sensors that need replacing?
Hi what scanner do you use to reset fault codes. thanks
Autel Diaglink MD802 ebay.to/2ocr3OA
Do you have to reset the fault or does it clear automatically?
Depends what code it is mate. ABS/Stability Control I believe if it's fixed will clear after some driving and the car seeing all is good again.
Hi mate have you ever had a p0430 code if so what did you do to fix it. I have a high km omega it has 395,000 km on it.
I haven’t sorry mate, to be honest I’d just be searching and rewriting an answer from elsewhere that I hadn’t tested. Best of luck with it mate and good to see these things still going well in the high kms, I’m nudging over 290k kms in this one now.
Hi I'm looking for the fuse for the air-conditioning.
Have a look under the fuse box lid for 2 labelled HVAC, may be what you’re after.
so if i did this myself how can i get the codes reset. currently stuck on side road waiting for a tow due to stability control limp mode.
@@brownhornetseventhre Hey if it works you may have got away with an easy fix! Fingers crossed.
Nice work, will a (abs) scanner see (esp) faults?
@Yarn Thanks mate. Not 100%, depends on the scanner, but if it can scan ABS codes then probably can cover those as well.
How do I access codes on screen
Very good.
@Michael Last Sorry mate I'd be just guessing having not had quite the same issue. Perhaps try an owner's group forum or Facebook page? Good luck mate
How many sensors are there on the car?
Wheel speed sensors?
Can you send me what the product item is for your black gloves?
They're just disposable nitrile gloves, any auto store will likely sell them.
How did you reset your codes?
@Ryan Licastro Hi Ryan, this was done through the code scanner. I have been using an Autel DiagLink, here's a link to the one I use. Pretty good unit, good luck mate. ebay.to/2ocr3OA
@@BrowneysGarage thanks mate. I just found out Supercheap Auto can reset for you $14.
Nice, not bad at all.
Best of luck mate 👍
legond where do i send the cartoon
Cheers mate
Your awesome.
U want to fix my car? Vy commy. Srs light and abs both going off
GM engineers were like shit that would be easy for the owners to fix actually, better make it a torx bolt at least.
I can definitely see that conversation happening!
