- The golf day is cancelled. Due to a slow uptake in tickets I have made the regrettable decision to cancel the day. Those that have paid can still play or have there money back. Watch the video for full information.

Real shame, would’ve been happy to join if my boss wasn’t off that week!! Maybe the lack of interaction on videos is due to more users watching on tv. Certainly the reason I don’t tend to like and comment on videos. I have come on my phone to leave this. Sorry that your plans haven’t worked out this time. Hopefully you can organise another in the future.

Sorry to hear this. I would have been keen for a day out in Hampshire but I’m currently rehabbing from a broken elbow so no idea if and when I’ll be swinging a club this summer?! Hope your daughter’s arm gets better soon!

Bit of a shame! I wasn't aware that it was even happening. However I will say August is pretty much full on for me as I think around that time I'll be going do to Okehampton.
You got a good channel with a good group of lads. Keep doing you at I'm sure next time you'll get something good going.
I'm sure you'll have a great day anyway even if it wasn't the day you expected. Hopefully you can still fill the remaining spots!

I’ve been following this since you announced it, I was desperate to play as I’m new to the scene and it would have been nice to meet you guys, but we’d already got a holiday booked with the kids that week (summer holidays 🤦🏻♂️)

Oh that's such a shame. Perhaps picking the summer holidays was a bad decision. I was thinking some father son pairs may play but maybe they are few and far between. In the future. I will do smaller more intimate events I think
Sorry to hear this, sounds like you've made a good decisive call based on everything else you've been having to deal with.
The planned day was without a doubt good value, when you include food either side of the game. Unfortunately this year golf fees have climbed again and I'm tied to only playing my home course.
I wonder if golf is becoming a victim of its own success by generally whacking prices up in the midst of a tight squeeze for most.
Sounds like you'll still have a great day either way and I'll keep watching mate.
Cheers mate. I think golf will go full circle.. down here tho we have had a few courses close due to builders buying up the land so memberships every where are booming... Which then puts green fees up for visitors. Eventually tho memberships will fall again and they'll be pushing to get people through the doors... Only trouble is.. that could be a decade away
Sorry to hear this. I think what we’re seeing at the moment is the full effects of the purse strings tightening and golf unfortunately is usually the first thing to go. Don’t let it get you down, the channel has grown so much since you transitioned from DGS to Real Golf. Hopefully that’ll translate to a bigger golf day when the financial pressure eases.

I’m really sorry Wayne I would have liked to play but come back from holiday the day before and no chance of getting any more holiday time from work. Maybe a date late September might work but appreciate it’s a lot of work to organise. Once again thanks for asking genuinely would have played just can’t get time off. Will keep watching loved your last vlog at Barton and Ollie’s goggles !!
Haha. Olly's goggles were a hot in my mind. Lol. Was a fun vlog, terrible golf mind. No worries re golf. It seems like was just a poorly picked day and perhaps too many spots to fill. Well have another go next year
Sorry to hear about your daughter wayne hope it all heals up soon. Sucks about the golf day, yeah I've booked the day off, I'm there matey looking forward to it whatever the format. Having chatted with Dale it all sounds good, to be honest just looking for some golfmates outside of Cams Hall that want to play at different courses. Again you'll have to come down see all the changes at Cams, to the course, clubhouse, gym, swimming pool, new putting green, I think the club company has paid 7.5 million in upgrades. Anyway we'll chat on the 20th.

Ah! Mate sorry to hear . I really wanted to go myself but my mum passed away recently and I completely lost touch on most things only really getting back to fullness ish 😁. But any time you are at a lose and fancy a game up at purbeck of an afternoon your welcome anytime get you in for members guest fees 👍. I play most Saturday and Sunday afternoons from about 1:30 ish

That's fair enough. Weekdays certainly don't suit a good chunk of people so you wouldn't be alone in that

Thanks for the invite but I'm away that weekend playing at east Sussex. Keep me posted for any others in the future though. Weekends are a bit tricky for me but sometimes I can get out

P.S. have you ever considered setting up an RG Facebook / Insta / Twitter profile? Might just be a good way to promote the channel and drum up interest for these sorts of things. Just a thought mate
Sorry to hear - but it is a hard old world out there at the moment and visitor and society golf is going through the floor.........it is all to do with cost, cost, cost and cost - so may courses have put their rates up to stupid rates, just because the top 100 course can get away with it......two courses near me are advertising £70 and £80 a round, and their committees are scratchting their heads why their course is empty every afternoon, and these are two nice but completely normal courses that are worth £40 midweek. Their greed is going to see many demise, watch those words!
I couldnt agree more. So much harder to bring good value to my society these days. Like you say, the average joe courses are charging premium rates these days. Cheers for the comment
@@RealgolfWD The biggest problem is keeping it all viable for the average golfer, - those with bottomless pockets (of which sadly in our area, include members of Remedy/Broadstone/Ferndowm Stoneham etc will always think they are the bees knees, but is the base golfer which keeps the whole game alive, and it is for these that you and I should keep the events going. Im lucky in a way as I have ran a big society playing 20 times a year for 35 years and have now played 508 "monthly stapblefords", these averaging 20 to 30 per meet. I also organise / help organise another 20 or so a year, for other groups so we all in all have a good following. You might also remember that I started The wessex Amateur golf tour back in 2010, and continued to do so until 2017 or so when i gave it up, like in truth all the other tours gave up. In my case, Wessex was just too big an area, but in truth, the help I got from the clubs was zilch, some good, but many just looking at me as an easy £1500 income for a hour or so of golf times and food. Future, I do worry, but I do hear seeds of realism coming back, but mind you, I barter hard! - Time will tell - keep the reviews coming - I do them as well by the way!! ha ha
That such a shame Wayne still count me in as I would love to play. 😊
