Unironically a campaign challenge where he tries to beat intax on every map would be very entertaining, even if he’s not able to beat him on every map!
Wirtual was guessing at how speedclides works 1:53, but people have already figured it out years ago. 1. While not sliding, you get an acceleration force based on your speed (16N under 100km/h, 11N until 201km/h, 7N until 401km/h, 5.5N until 801km/h and 1N above 800km/h). 2. While sliding, you get a constant 10N acceleration. 3. While driving, you are constantly experience drag due to friction, but forward friction is fairly low (you experience it when releasing W). 4. While sliding, you also experience sideways friction which is way higher, meaning that the more you turn in a slide, the more drag your car experiences. There is a maximum amount of drag, though. Starting at 400km/h, the accel force from from sliding is higher than the normal accel force so sliding would be faster, but you still need to account for sideways friction. That's why there's a specific angle that where the sideways friction is small enough that the "bonus" from speedsliding is the highest. I don't think I can post links without getting shadowbanned, but you can find this on GitHub at TomashuTTTT7/TM-AlgoCrack.
But wouldn't that mean that barely sliding is always the fastest, which is not how it works ingame? I mean from this 4 point explanation you can reason, that if you slide (to get 10N accel), and minimize the slide angle (to minimize the sideways friction), you should accel most. But this defies the data, as we know of optimal angles of sd depending on speed.
42:00 I spent about 400 hours hunting to get the AT for Ben 27, which is a 7 second map. The idea of spending 1000 more hours on that seems mind-numbing.
There are several reasons to live in Norway as well (vs Sweden): With less than half the unemployment rate and a quarter of the number of murders, Norway also has noticeably less crime and offers 30-40% higher salaries. While most things are a bit cheaper in Swedish stores, the items that are usually noticeably cheaper are not healthy for you, like snus, cigarettes, and alcohol. Norway boasts some of the most breathtaking natural landscapes in the world, with its dramatic fjords, towering mountains, and pristine waterfalls. After living for 5 years in Sweden, I never saw landscapes that compare to those in Norway.
what is this propaganda you can stay there and look at the rocks and trees if you want, just dont come here because you cant afford groceries over there
Watching Trackmania is actually benefiting my simracing career. Watching how sometimes going slower rather than faster gains time because you set up a future corner much better is such an enlightenment and applying it to simracing I've had huge results.
cuando empezaste el desafío ofreciéndote a responder preguntas porque es una transmisión "para aprender" me sacaste una sonrisa. Gracias por compartir lo que sabés, me divierto mucho con este juego gracias a tus videos!
for anyone who want to understand how speed slide helps, google "burnout launch" when wheels suddenly "grip the surface" and all the inertia of engine going from 6000 to 3000 rpm launches the car harder than raw HP would suggest. speedslide is where you repeatedly jump between those 2 states where you slip and get higher RPM, and grip, trading those higher RPM to speed.
The fact that you made a correlation between a map from 2013 to 2025 over one set of turns is wild to me. Your brain works in some mysterious ways my friend🤣 lowkey impressed. Not to glaze, but I love your content wirtual. Thank you for providing alot of fun entertainment, pure joy, and watching you be passionate towards something and making a life out of it, it’s kind’ve inspiring. Keep up the good work, love the streams, and thank you for some good nights sleep sometimes🤣❤️
Every now and then I hear some Kubbi tracks, brings me back to 2012-2014 so fast, I used to listen to these constantly while playing some Minecraft and StarMade
Yo thanks for posting this. I was just going to bed and you're my favorite to fall asleep to. Although your food takes sometimes do make it hard to fall asleep.
my guess-which is quite likely wrong-is that quantum sliding replaces the sliding motion (which comes from the "outward" momentum of the turn) with the outer wheels pushing into the ground, and the ground pushing back at them, "aiding" the acceleration. kinda like a downforce on the outer wheel pair. kinda simulating a banked curve.
33:19 "[kid chess players] have no fear...they just send attacks" I've noticed this in combat robotics as well. Saw a 7-year old take 3rd place in two divisions at a tournament. The most aggressive player at the tournament perhaps. he was 25% setup and 75% full send into the other robots. One match he smashed into the opponent twice in 8 seconds, and the other bot was already disabled.
AK speedsliding has also been done on a map in an earlier campaign (Fall 2022 - 04). It was not perfect, but a combination of AK3 and AK4 could be used for the S4D there.
25:22 now I want a nature documentary narrated by Wirtual. "And then, he got this run" and it's the video of the lizard running from a crap ton of snakes Edit: it's an Iguana and it's from planet earth
19:30 maybe this is asking for a lot but what if you had a ghost replay of wirtual and wr ghost together on screen with livestream facecam and audio for the final run? should be easy to sync but recording that every time probably takes too much time
As a new player, this blows my mind. I started playing this game yesterday, and I spent a good 2 hours just barely getting gold on the first 6 maps of this campaign. I got some weird coin on the first map that went over gold, but it didn't tell me what it is.
I think it woulld be really cool in videos like this if after you get, "top whatever" if you would look at the WR and try to copy the lines for a few runs after.
Help! I just started playing and cannot figure out how to see my placement in the region. I jave aUbisoft acount and am not able to get anything other than world placement.
8:10 yea go kart is fun but my cousin tried overtaking me the same way... Nearly snapped my neck from just full speed running into me using me basically to slow down for the tight turn 😅 I was pissed as well... Its just a side of ppl that comes out when they also have a bit of an egoistical competitive side
Completely new to playing trackmania. I've watched Wirtual with my 3 year old a ton and found out we could get it on the Xbox. Dude, why does it feel that i can't turn the car as hard or have the response that any of the streaming TM players have? On a paved surface where a streamer showing their keys literally is forward and full right, they turn sharper than I can. Is the Xbox turned down where it can't do controls as well as a pc?
For a pro, yes, watching the WR would be kind of boring to find the fastest path. For a beginner, it would be great training. Having the WR ghost on and trying to match its path will teach them what they need to do to copy those lines and that will lead to them learning how car handles faster improving their skills. Then, when they get a good understanding of how the physics work and how the surfaces feel under the car, they can stop watching the WR and start trying to learn proper paths on their own, and maybe even find an even faster way.
In the first track, I just can't understand how you can keep a 600 speed for the jump, in the 2nd intermediate. Is it possible with a ps5 controller? I try hard to pass 23.8 but it's litteraly impossible without this speed. even if I take a large turn without drifting, I jump at 570-580 max.
It stresses me out hearing a fellow gamer with a girlfriend say he’s done gaming at 2 am and not knowing how the lady will react as you crawl into bed at that hour haha
For the chatter that asked about turning the ghost off when you really want to improve. I like Wirtual's reasoning, but overall I just find it helps me focus more. No real explanation.

I think he got it confused with how reactor zoops work. Not sure though.
I'm gonna let "edging the car" be the reason in my head but yours sounds more based on fact.
But wouldn't that mean that barely sliding is always the fastest, which is not how it works ingame? I mean from this 4 point explanation you can reason, that if you slide (to get 10N accel), and minimize the slide angle (to minimize the sideways friction), you should accel most. @@rczj his figures indicate over 200 kmh you could gain acceleration when speed sliding as the acceleration rate while not slide dips to 7
I think Wirtual just likes edging
21:45 To continue after Video Cut
Thanks, MVP comment.
MVP
The real MVP out here
Thanks
huh
2:25 I love edging my car until it builds up that explosive speed and just can’t take it anymore
Best comment in chat is at 2:45 “would it be faster to speed edge on mayonnaise?” - vdrch
the chat looked like it paused to make sure we saw😂
it is just boring at this point
Please mr. Mayo i want to sleep. It 2:30 am
there is no sleep on the slip n' slide
You can sleep when you're Hollandaise
Jokes on you this is what I sleep to
Pain. 130 for me.
@@xlucky1373 hello past human
I would love to see a "Tutorial-Series" Where Wirtual explains all the different techniques :D
I second this!
would love this, all the terminology and technique breakdowns.
Yes!
This already exists
42:00 I spent about 400 hours hunting to get the AT for Ben 27, which is a 7 second map. The idea of spending 1000 more hours on that seems mind-numbing.
I'm pretty sure 400 hours is already more than I've put into any single game, much less a single stage/level/map within one.
@alansmithee419 it was over the course of about 10 months. But yeah, it was way more of a grind than I thought it would need.
new title: Can I get top 100 on Every Map in the Winter Campaign while edging the car?
Funny comment is wirtual talking about quantum sliding and justjoshin_ says Schrodinger's edging. 3:35
45:49 insane transition btw
The car did not even move that’s insane
18:03 oh that adds a LOT of context on that map 10 video lmao

Great video, fantastic editing. Love all the small touches! Goated duo 🙌🙌
7:24 “but is it interesting to have the solution spoiled?” says the guy who used freecam for an entire puzzle maps campaign
Thats different tho. With free cam you still have to spot the route with wr watching you get told the best route and all the tricks instantly
cuando empezaste el desafío ofreciéndote a responder preguntas porque es una transmisión "para aprender" me sacaste una sonrisa. Gracias por compartir lo que sabés, me divierto mucho con este juego gracias a tus videos!
Thanks for the fix! Hopefully this still does well 😅
Wirtual is a type of guy who would approach go-cart as a kacky challenge.
for anyone who want to understand how speed slide helps, google "burnout launch" when wheels suddenly "grip the surface" and all the inertia of engine going from 6000 to 3000 rpm launches the car harder than raw HP would suggest.
speedslide is where you repeatedly jump between those 2 states where you slip and get higher RPM, and grip, trading those higher RPM to speed.
1400 hrs on a single map is insane dedication.
2000 hours is a full time job for a year.

He did a barrel roll.
In a car.
On a piece of flat land.
XD
Yo thanks for posting this. I was just going to bed and you're my favorite to fall asleep to. Although your food takes sometimes do make it hard to fall asleep.
When your mom walks in and the computer is talking about edging
Wirtual slathers his car in mayonnaise and that's how he goes so fast.
And edges it, you mean? @2:15
It's true I saw him do it
I love that virtual always posts at midnight where I am, so it just fuels me to stay up super late cause I just gotta watch the new video
This is my first time watching a stream beforehand and then seeing it in a video, it's really cool

Wirtual making videos about how edging the car works... so... pulling a Wirtual just got better haha
4:39 "it's just that these top dirt players..." looks at rank 5 and sees a player exclusively known as an ice god.
47:06 look at the chat I just knew it

For something like mathematics, seeing the answer and then finding the solution is very gratifying
2:35 "Would it be faster to speed edge on mayonnaise?" 😭
"do a barrel roll" caught me so off guard that I thought it was part of the Map 😂
I just realized something. You showing your keystrokes at the bottom left is basically just subtitles for your car movements.
Never thought of it like that before
19:30 maybe this is asking for a lot but what if you had a ghost replay of wirtual and wr ghost together on screen with livestream facecam and audio for the final run?
should be easy to sync but recording that every time probably takes too much time
Fun challenge and a good way to build some intermediate familiarity with the maps for ranked.

I don't understand what the quantum slide and the other one is either. Whenever I turn too much I seem to slow right down
22:00 it's probably similar to how chess grandmasters can recognize positions from games they played years ago
Came for the winter campaign, stayed for explanation of different car edging techniques. I only wish Wirtual would explain mayonnaise edging to me
"do a barrell roll" gave me nostalgic fits lol
Kudos for what you said about Suigi, you're a true gentleman Wirtual💚
I feel like at this point, Nadeo should just hire Wirtual for Marketing and Development 😅
I like how editor highlights messages
I really like how Trackmania maps are basicly puzzles to top players.
I'm perfectly okay with ruining my sleep schedule for this
4:11 he just continues to talk about edging lol
I watch these videos almost every day and I want to play the new campaign so badly, but I'm on vacation and didn't bring my laptop :0
Nice, something to sleep to tonight. Thank you
i have just started trackmania and was wondering how to turn on the speedometer on the bottom right
31:03 you sound like yoda "just a release its not"
Me and my homies up at midnight edging our cars
It's funny that Wirtual thought 13 is a remake when I was just thinking that 08 ending I've seen on his vids before
you should for real do another time with Games Done quick, been too many years without a commentator like you
Yo wirtual what’s your go to grub when you gassin of the grizzy
Mr. Wirtual “Edge the car” trackmania
15:15 BESTIE SPOTTED WHAT A NAME
I know of someone who took over 2 million attempts for a 14 second long level in geometry dash
Or someone who verified a top1 level in about 1.5 years
I’m fairly new to Tracmania and not that great but I really enjoy map 10, I’m current 2nd in my state which is a huge achievement
I think it woulld be really cool in videos like this if after you get, "top whatever" if you would look at the WR and try to copy the lines for a few runs after.
when you speed slide do people look at the back of the car to keep the angle or look at the next turn?
27:56 wow takes me back thats the og shitposting
23:38
I can't believe TMWally went 11 years into the future and stole that turn from the official campaign
That’s more like it, thanks editors ^^
The campaign's a banger. No meme tracks and no shit cars, just the game :3
Doesn't zoop only work with reactor up?
Sorry im new... but what is action key 3? and what does it do?
Help! I just started playing and cannot figure out how to see my placement in the region. I jave aUbisoft acount and am not able to get anything other than world placement.
“…eating peanuts…” boss move against peanut allergy ppl
Where is the map 10 link in the description?
I would love to see a comparison atleast after you se t your desired time between your run and the wr🎉
from this video i learned that in the end its all about edging the car
"What you're doing with speed sliding is essentially edging the car..."
bruh
8:10 yea go kart is fun but my cousin tried overtaking me the same way... Nearly snapped my neck from just full speed running into me using me basically to slow down for the tight turn 😅

What is the name of the mod that allows you to see the tracks of the cars?
Next wirtual video, beating intax on every campaign map
I wish he did top 100 near end of season cause that would be far more instructive and enjoyable imo
18:55 constipation face cameo
Was this reuploaded? Yesterday had the same stuff but 6 minutes shorter
i love it star fox at 27:56 old school games l love it
Started playing trackmania like 3 days ago. Didnt expect to do well but wow its hard LOL
