Chocolate was very expensive back then so the companies tried to include more hazelnut into those because hazelnuts weren't expensive then. It was so good that they kept that method all those years ^^ man musste also die Schokolade strecken ;)

I always nibble off the chocolate bit of the tofiffe and then seperate the caramel and hazelnut in my mouth... It takes ages but I always do it when I'm bored.
Actually the best (and longest!) way to enjoy them is to let the chocolate melt on your tongue until only the caramel and the nut is left. Then you would use your tongue to wrap the nut in the caramel and chew it. Can't get any better than that!

To produce sweets similar to chocolat or with just a tiny bit of chocolat, they had to experiment with different ingredients, including hazlenuts. Ragusa was one of the first popular candybars (hazelnuts were used before in different sweets, but just as an addition not as the main ingredient). After the war, the traiding resumed, but the hazlenut stayed a popular ingredient. So yes, we are a bit "obsessed".😉

I always nibble off the chocolate bit of the tofiffe and then seperate the caramel and hazelnut in my mouth... It takes ages but I always do it when I'm bored.

Actually the best (and longest!) way to enjoy them is to let the chocolate melt on your tongue until only the caramel and the nut is left. Then you would use your tongue to wrap the nut in the caramel and chew it. Can't get any better than that!

To produce sweets similar to chocolat or with just a tiny bit of chocolat, they had to experiment with different ingredients, including hazlenuts. Ragusa was one of the first popular candybars (hazelnuts were used before in different sweets, but just as an addition not as the main ingredient). After the war, the traiding resumed, but the hazlenut stayed a popular ingredient.

The first Waffle ones by Ja! are tasteless because Ja! is that kinda brand, they make it cheap but also most of the time it doesnt tast that great
I think all that cheap neapolitain waffles from the supermarkets and discounters are made in Austria by Manner, too.
Meanwhile there is no manufacturer printed on the package anymore, but a few years ago at least the waffles from Norma were made in Vienna by Manner.
They aren‘t even that bad in my opinion

Ferrero Rocher has been available in the US since at least the 1980s. You can buy it almost everywhere. Kinder products have only been readily available in the US for the past 10 years.

I am from Germany and this made my day!! This is honestly the best and funniest I’ve seen on RUclips for a long time. It’s so interesting to watch people testing German candy’s because I’m eating those at least once a month. But it is also interesting to realize that Germans are obviously addicted to hazelnuts😂 I didn’t notice this before and now I’m shocked and blessed at the same time LOL

I can get Toffifee in my local Aldi and they are incredibly addictive. I can eat a box in about 5 minutes. That's why I try not to buy them.

That name has been out of style for quite a while now, probably for the last 80 to 100 years. The second name thing might be tradition, but most people rarely ever use their second names.
