I don’t know if that’s true but if it is, let me explain what an actual bread roll should be. The classic ones are oval shaped, crusty outside and fluffy, soft inside with a cutting on top from one end to the other. A Matschbrötchen with that is just so insanely good but I couldn’t even imagine eating it the way you guys did 😅
ikr... when my siblings and i first heard other places (we really focused on hawaii for some reason tho) didnt have nice bread, we decided when we grew up wed become "brötchenbäcker auf hawaii"... we designed a swimming brötchenauto and everything :D
They really are a thing! When I was younger they were the weekly highlight to buy at the bakery (and it usually was cheap as well). I've never tried it with the small ones I think but I'm from northern Germany and it consisted of a big "Dickmann's" between a white bread roll. :-)

I looooved the Box, and my mom really appreciated seeing you try the matschbrötchen (dickmanns with a bread roll), it was a staple of her youth and really popular around that time ☺️ and it made me wanna buy Fritts again, these are so freaking delicious 🤭😻
Dickmanns/Schaumküsse on (German) bread rolls are really a thing and we used to buy them in the shop across the road from our school. By using sandwich bread instead of a bread roll you kind of invented your own version I guess but I imagine it'll work great as well and it is probably really reminiscent of the fluffernutter. But Dickmann's are good without bread as well. 😊
The matchstick potato chips we have in Canada are called Hickory sticks. As you might guess from the name, they have a BBQ/Hickory flavour. I used to run a Girl Guide unit and we used the shoestring licorice to help teach the girls their knots

The Dickmanns in the Breadroll arent a troll. Usually you get a Breadroll (hearty german Brötchen), butter it good and take a Super Dickmann, remove the wafer, squash. They usually are sold in school cafeterias ^^

Bread rolls and schokoküsse(Dickmanns) were my goto food in my school. They sold them there. So many good memories. Also the cheapest option when I were out of money.
Kinda weird how they love the paprika flavour. I remember in my early childhood, paprika was the only flavour you got when it came to chips. Maybe if you were lucky you could get salt and pepper, but 90% was paprika. Good thing those times are over.

Bread rolls and schokoküsse(Dickmanns) were my goto food in my school. They sold them there. So many good memories. Also the cheapest option when I were out of money.

The little crisp sticks you can get in Asda and Marks and Spencers but they are usually just salted my sister and I have always loved them x

Kinda weird how they love the paprika flavour. I remember in my early childhood, paprika was the only flavour you got when it came to chips. Maybe if you were lucky you could get salt and pepper, but 90% was paprika. Good thing those times are over.
Used to be able to buy the Dickmanns in. Aldi. Don't sell them anymore which is a shame as I loved them.
