At first i didnt really mind the song. I listened to it multiple times but just never grew on me until i paid attention to the lyrics. I feel like we've all had that point in our lives where we just feel like some worthless piece of crap and we get influenced by what others think about ourselves. When i was a kid up until i was around 16 or 17 i didnt feel like i had any personality. I had this idea of "ill let people interact with me and ill let them judge me on what type of person i am". Of course, me being someone with tons of insecurities throughout a big part of his life, a lot of people (including my parents to a certain degree) took advantage of this. People started saying a lot of crap about me during middle school up until high school and, well, i let their words dictate who i was. At around the age of 16-17 i started changing for the best, i made a new group of friends that not only accepted me but made me realize who i was and at that point, i started to think "hey, maybe im not the worthess hunk of crap i thought i was"
Persona 5 songs have a way of hitting home and are relatable. It's amazing how accurate the public in the game reflects what people are like in real life as well. I didn't care for this song either until I saw the lyrics. The one thing that I don't like about Lyn's voice is that I sometimes have a hard time understanding what she's singing, but other than that, she's an amazing singer!

This is the beauty of sequels / rereleases like Royal. You get a bit of new fresh air in the game that makes you fall in love with the game all over again.
Honestly I both envy and pity people who have never experienced Persona in general. 1, Innocent Sin, and Eternal Punishment may have been good, but 3, 4, and 5 were all just that bit much better all round that you get heavily invested in their stories and make you love the characters to the point you never want the game to end. Truthfully I'd give anything just to experience P3, P4 Golden, P5 Royal, and P5 Strikers for the first time again
@@TheUndeadOhioan1999 There are very few games that I feel that way for, but Persona 5 and Xenoblade Chronicles are the two games that I would love to experience for the first time again if it was possible. Those two games were unlike anything that I've ever played and were such a joy to experience! Few single player games have impacted me as much as those two.

Spending time with akane in kyoto Sumire (not a big fan of sumire): on some tournament i think? All seperated again for the coming years , the thoughts of that is depressing 😭
*With The Stars And Us:* gives me big nostalgia, ALWAYS manages to make me feel the same way I did the very first time I played Persona 5 and beat the game(warm, fuzzy, very happy, yet bittersweet). My personal favorite of the trio. *Our Light:* absolutely BREAKS MY FUCKING HEART EVERY TIME, makes me the most emotional, I am almost guaranteed to cry. Will always make me feel the same way I did when I first realized the twist in February. *Towards a Dream/To Wish:* makes me cry happy tears every other time, but always manages to make me warm inside, like I can get up and do everything I always beat myself up over not being able to do. Gives me the most amount of Hope, and my favorite to sing.
Since no one is gonna mention it, this is the first time we’ve gotten a persona credits song in English (unless P1 or the P2 duopoly have them because I’m not done with those yet) and not only is it in English, there’s also a Japanese version, which has never been done before and is really cool
Just finished P5S... Through 2 games, I became interested in these characters, then I cared for them, and as childish as it may sound, I felt like they grew into a part of my life just like real friends do. Letting them go, it's confusing: I feel both sad for ending, but I feel happy for it had happened. I never have cared this much for fictional characters, congratulations Atlus for writing such an interesting and awesome story and even better, more immersive and human characters! I will never forget any of this!
What a sweet thing to say, and thus ends the journey of the Phant-oh wait, a minute? Looks like our Thieves Journey hasn't concluded yet and... there's also Persona Q2.
i really hope Sophie isn't a 1 off character like Kasumi She is honestly one of my favorite Persona character, her character development is just, amazing.

Sophia and Ichinose are following similar footsteps like Sho Minazuki and Elizabeth. I like to believe their journeys are going well until they’re needed again.
(before Sophie parts way with the Phantom Thieves) Sophie: "Yes, it's what I want. But first - I want to hear it from you." Sophie: "May I go with Ichinose?" Me: - Lie down - Try not to cry - Cry a lot
As the first game Persona 5 related I've ever played, Sophia holds a deep part of the love I have for this game. She's lovable, adorable, and just the humming she does when she's happy makes me chuckle. Seeing her leave the phantom thrives after everything pulled tears outta my eyes on stream. Then the photo at the end made me lose it entirely. Best. Game. I've. Played. Okay. Now for Royals.
This is the second time that a machine has made me cry. I didn't think a machine would ever make me again, let alone a single time before it happened in Xenoblade Chronicles 2!
I swear during the credits i softly spoke in front of the tv :this ain't the last perona 5 game ATLUS. And i had one existential crisis for a bunch of days thinking about one day i will have to leave these characters behind once persona 6 will eventually come out. But then i understood that's the message of the game, grow and chose your path in life like the thieves are doing, and so am i. Till next time Phantom Thieves
Closer to the end, and at the end of the game, we were reminded we need to go back to reality. I felt like the game was talking to me lol because I didn’t want to leave my friends behind. All good things come to an end.
@Jonathan Fakhoury I played the entire game and he doesn’t reference marukis palace once. If you’re talking about stealing desires so there won’t be pain, Morgana was referencing yaldabaoths purpose. The devs even said royal isn’t necessarily canon. Thanks for the insult though. Also P3Fes has a second part and is not part of the main story
Man, when Joker says goodbye from his friends it felt like I was saying goodbye...was stuck in this game for a while, amazing game with amazing soundtracks.....Wish to see a persona 6 soon❤ My first persona on pc and really impressed....
I agree that parts of this song could be about Sophie. But at the same time, there are also parts that could be about Wolf, and to a lesser extent Ichinose. But I dunno if I'd say there's any singular character that the entire song fits necessarily. But I respect your opinion.
Ok even if I listened to this song without context I'd still probably cry. The composition and arrangement is just genius, the definition of bittersweet in song form.
Gotta say looking back on this song. I know without a doubt it’s definitely about the bosses and ichinoses response to her life so far and what she is going to do now. But I also feel it’s a message from the phantom thieves to tell them what to do and understanding what they have gone through. Okay atlus, we know next game a year most likely might pass by. Anniversary comes in September, by the ending words, we know y’all not done with these characters.
I beat the game and all I felt was happiness but also the realization that the adventure is over. I got a tear out of it when I saw all the photos of the all the requests I did throughout the game (a neat touch if you did or did not do them). If this was truly the end, then... "Until next time, Phantom Thieves!'
I made sure to do everything I could in my play through. In persona 5 the game always told us to take our time, but sometimes I rushed through it. Since I did that I missed out on lots, but here I did every request and mission.
It is. Usually in-game lyrics are English so they wouldn't distract their native audience. Credits would be in Japanese, though. But they made an exception here and came back to record this in English. There's a BTS clip making rounds showing the recording session, check it out.

The longer Persona goes on, the more I end up loving it. Not only is it the series that got me into turn based games, JRPGs, and Norse Mythology but also made me find at least some rhythm and fighting games I can enjoy, not to mention all the lessons they've taught me and the gaming memories given. Persona 6 may have big shoes to fill when it eventually comes out, but really looking forward to whatever is next
This is my observation even though I never played a Persona game ever. Playing this game reminded me of the games and anime I loved during the late 90’s and early 2000’s. It also reminded me of that bygone feeling of being a kid. That feeling of adventure and surprise. The characters are so lovable and likable. There is so much heart in this game. One of the best experiences and endings in gaming history. This game honestly gave me a beautiful feeling of nostalgia.

Same here...
@@Danewd98sChannelgaming would you recommend Royal? I just finished strikers and feel crushed having to say goodbye to all the characters... AGAIN.
Joker: Far far FAR from shibuya back home with mona thinking about his friends
Ryuji: running and having fun with his track team.
Ann: back to modeling and shopping with shiho
Yusuke: painting his thoughts in visual about the phantom thieves

Futaba: grinding school with coffee dad guarding her of course
Haru: living relaxed college life with also focusing on opening her shop.
Akechi: somewhere far away doing his stuff (😢)
Sophie: researching the human heart with mommy ichinose
Zenkichi: having easier heart because of his journey with the phantom thieves. Spending time with akane in kyoto
Sumire (not a big fan of sumire): on some tournament i think?

Persona 2:Eternal Punishment has its ending song in English
I realized that, pretty cool.
Persona 1 Psp also has a English ending song
most of the spinoffs have English credit songs (that is why strikers has them as well if I'm correct)
Change Your Way (Persona 2: Eternal Punishment) is in English and hits as hard as this
Man another Persona finished. Another feeling of emptyness. What an masterpiece. Thank you Atlus.
It's always fun to see new fans admit to what Persona fans have been feeling and doing for 25 years
You just spend to much time with them as the game says take your time and you'll like it even more and cry on it more
I don’t know how they keep doing it. Every time they make it so emotional. They can’t keep getting away with it
They keep doing it because u dont know if this is the last journey and the people that make the song know how to get us right in the heart.
i really hope Sophie isn't a 1 off character like Kasumi
She is honestly one of my favorite Persona character, her character development is just, amazing.
Absolutely took the words out of my mouth! I want her and Zenkichi to both return in the next game!
I mean, we don’t know if Atlus has written off those three yet. I would love a game where all twelve thieves were together. But it’s all up to Atlus, and at least Akechi, Sumire, Sophia, and Zenkichi all got great games already!
@@janussimonsen24 issue is, royal isn’t canon to the actual timeline. Sumire technically doesn’t exist, Akechi is probably dead, but Sophia and Zenkichi are still alive and well in the timeline. Personally, Zenkichi is my favorite character and Sophie isn’t far behind
@@technoblitz6373 When the hell was a "canon" timeline settled on? There's different timelines, sure; but none are necessarily more or less canon. Are you going to argue that FEMC and the Golden ending are "noncanon" too? There's just different timelines; not one base and a couple offshoots
@@janussimonsen24 FEMC, Golden, and Royal are just split off from the actual story. They’re adapted versions of the game that change mechanics and add bits to the story. The actual persona 5 timeline has P5 and P5S, and Royal is split off from the original.
Edit: all timelines are canon. I probably shouldn’t have used the word canon. I was just referring to them being a split from the originals.
This song sends a really beautiful message. It's enough to make me want to stand up and push forward through adversity and learn to live for myself. Whenever I feel down, I put up this song. It's enough to make me smile. This song along with Our Light changed my life and it means a lot.

Sophia and Ichinose are following similar footsteps like Sho Minazuki and Elizabeth. I like to believe their journeys are going well until they’re needed again.
(before Sophie parts way with the Phantom Thieves)
Sophie: "Yes, it's what I want. But first - I want to hear it from you."
Sophie: "May I go with Ichinose?"

- Lie down
- Try not to cry
- Cry a lot

@Jonathan Fakhoury strikers was the perfect ending. Royal is not canon so I don’t care as much
@Jonathan Fakhoury I played the entire game and he doesn’t reference marukis palace once. If you’re talking about stealing desires so there won’t be pain, Morgana was referencing yaldabaoths purpose. The devs even said royal isn’t necessarily canon. Thanks for the insult though. Also P3Fes has a second part and is not part of the main story
@Jonathan Fakhoury yaldabaoths final confrontation messed with reality. I wasn’t offended btw, it was just uncalled for

I haven’t even played the game yet, and yet this song is making me ball my eye out! It’s just so beautiful!
It's just now hitting me that this song is about Sophie finding herself and becoming her own person with the PTs. It's really sweet
I agree that parts of this song could be about Sophie. But at the same time, there are also parts that could be about Wolf, and to a lesser extent Ichinose. But I dunno if I'd say there's any singular character that the entire song fits necessarily. But I respect your opinion.
God I cried all the way through the credits... again. Thanks atlus
This is definitely ichinose’s song
Damn, that actually makes sense.
I believe it's Joker's song but hey, it could be anyone else too. It just fits him better than Ichinose tbh.
