I just bought the HX for testing, and the thing I noticed about the ANC (and this may be because of new firmware) is that the sound changes only when the ANC is on low, but when it's on medium or high the sound is the same as though ANC is turned off. Not entirely sure why they do this only with the low setting, but I figure it'll be fixed with another update sooner or later. Also, because the HX has little cabin pressure, there's honestly no reason to only use low ANC. There's a button to cycle between transparent, neutral, and ANC, so I'd say keep ANC at high and you're fine.
As someone with ear piercings I find it the opposite. I tried the Beoplay's and the Sennheiser's and found that the Momentum's pushed in on my carta;idge way more than the Bang & Oulfsen's did.
Firmware update has the fixed the issue with the AirPods max battery draining issue on ultra low power mode. They work perfect now and wanted to also add that they are very comfortable. I definitely agree with buying a hard case. Thanks for the great review.
good review as always - love your channel. I have a ton of quality headphones Senn HD600, Sony Xm4, B&O HX and Bose etc. NC is a low priority for me as I listen to them mostly in my home - I feel that feature is overrated. The B&Os are best for me. the CODEC support is best and regarding sound signature, I use an EQ so it's not an issue as I can make all of them sound like I want (which is lively as you say it.) Given full EQ capability using Dolby Atmos, the B&O HXs sound is significantly better than the rest. Build quality is also stellar. I don't have the Momentum 2's but they look too dated for me. Love your content - keep it coming.
You forgot to mention that the B&O’s can be EQ’d just like the Sennheiser’s via their own app. These make them even better and crystal clear with a very warm bass response. The Sennheiser’s bass can be a little too strong and can sometimes drown out the mids and highs. I have all 3 and the H95’s too, with the H95’s being by far the best of the bunch. I love those cans so much! Any of these would be a great choice though so you can’t really go wrong. 🎧
At 8:12 iphones tops out at flac support which rn only works if you redownload it in flac support or hi res audio like from tidal and Amazon music but for apple music and spoitfy they max out at acc.
Awesome comparison. Thanks. I’m leaning towards the HX’s. They are really beautiful headphones. The Airpods to me makes you look like that Cloud City dude from Empire Strike Back.
Hi Caddy , one question please did you test the mic of the airpods max outside the building, ? how the performance when there are some air around you? thanks for the great episode , really good. cheers.
Great comparison. The right comparison actually. I however got my Sennheiser Momentum 3, second hand for less than £200. They arrived boxed as new. The sound is amazing and so satisfying. The case is a joke and I had to get a hard case - it is large and cumbersome though. Great work as usual. I wonder how they stack up against the Bowers and Wilkins PX and the Master and Dynamic MW65. Just a thought.
Okay I wanna get the Beoplay HX's , particularly for working out and as a travel companion. I owned a pair of Beats Studio3 wireless which started shredding after little or no time and became an eyesore. Can these babies withstand a whole lot of sweat? Any takers please?
i wanted to buy so much HX but the fact that anc changes sound a lot scares me, because i want to use headphones with anc turned on, then whats the point... and plus if it had oval earcups like h95... i should look up what guarantees are b&o giving after buying 800$ headphones, i might stop on h95, its very interesting as well how tha anc compares ( h95-HX )
I have the HX and the ANC does change the sound, but only on the low setting. When ANC is medium or high, the sound sounds the same as if the ANC is off. I don't know why the sound changes only on the low setting. Also, the round earcups fit my ears, and mine are pretty normal. However, my ears stick out, and I've found that the earpads on the HXs are not deep enough, so my ear cartilage bends. This alone is making me consider exchanging these for the Momentum 3. If you have ears that stick out, I don't think the HX or the H95 will be very comfortable.
nice video man, I got a b&o h9i,but I think it sounds a bit werid,I was wondering if it was the battery, because it doesn't last that long now,do you think battery degrade will affect bluetooth headphones' sound quality
i would suggest going to a Bang and Olufsen Dealer. I own the new H9 and they do seem to sound different. But it is usually the bluetooth device, and the tuning of the EQ in th B&O app. Frankly, reset the whole sound EQ settings on the app for the headphones, and try to use an AUX, with Apple Music, since it has the best sound quality that way.
@@jatnierdorta They're literally cheaper than the Airpods max? They even manage to be cheaper while including a wired cable, as well as a hard case, which is extras you have to buy on the side with the Airpods max.
@@jatnierdorta So you're just going to ignore the rest of my comment? Cool. And yes, I'm going to compare it to that apple product, because that's what seems to be what the majority of people are buying today.
Now the sennheisers actually do have head rattling base particularly when you adjust the EQ. But they are still not better than the SoundCore Life q30. They give you 22 sound presets and if you really like to customize your sound you have at least six frequencies by which you can adjust and modify the sound to your liking. Those headphones really do rattle your head particularly once you adjust the sound to be able to do so. Only for $80. I'm not here trying to promote these headphones but I am always amazed at what the tech reviewers review and put over. But then you try these headphones for yourself and it's a different story. Everyone's perspective is what it is... My advice is that you have to pay to play. Try these things out for yourself. Personally I'm sending back to sennheisers. I cannot justify the price when I'm getting better sound quality out of $80 Headphones. But that's just me. You do you.
I personally have never had an issue with their circular over ear headphones, at least not on my beoplay H6 pair, which I think has a slightly shallower ear pad even. I think they made changes to the earpads of the Beoplay HX to make it even more comfortable.
The Sennheisers look awful! The momentum looks like the phones I had in the 80s. I personally liked the look of the Airpod max but my wife said they look awful, and the case for them is just terrible so they were out, so the HX were the winners. I guess if you don't care what they look like you have plenty of options but surely the look of these things should bear some weight on choice considering how much they cost.

Thank you so much for pointing this out, i have been having this concern upon whether to switch from xm4 to HX. I guess i can finally decide.
Thanks for making many videos about the HX!
me: ight imma sleep now
gymcaddy: uploads

Is it possible for you to review the Beoplay Portal? And perhaps even compare them to the HX? I would really love to see that!
Keep it up!

You need to get a sound device that allows us to hear music also and then do these tests.

AirPods Max vs. B&O H95 battle

Out of curiosity, what hard case did you get? I just ordered these but I want to get a different case for them.
How are they compared to B&O H95?
I’m planning on getting both Beoplay and airpods Max
Could you do a binaural sound recording of these headphones too? Would be awesome to have a clear idea!
Great video as always!!
I would like to see battle between sony xb33 and charge 5

Where is the Sennheiser made at?
Would u say the hx is more audiophile focused?
I compared them to the Dali Io6. if you’re an audiophile the Dali’s are the ticket.
@@Gcpvetten which is the loudest among these 3 headphones? Are Airpods max loud enough? I need a headphone with atleast 110 decibels
B&O HX for sure
When are you reviewing the JBL Tour One

@Gymcaddy do the momentum 3 rattle your head like skullcandy crushers? How is the intensity ?

@@NickSisawesome the problem with both of those is comfort. HX ftw.
Touch control in HX is a nightmare and completely useless. Why don't use reliable buttons instead? It's just a waste of money.
I have them the sound quality is amazing but the touch controls take some getting used to. The volume control is just hard to use and fine tune
at first i thought the same thei figured it out -they want hard touch. is this still an issue for you? Love the HXs
