Welcome back! Great pickups. Hard Eight is one of my favorite Paul Thomas Anderson films and the Imprint release looks really good. Thanks for your thoughts on each film including why you decided to purchase.
Thanks for watching and commenting Dave, we appreciate it! Haven't heard a bad word about Hard Eight, will need to prioritise it on my watch list I think.
Some nice pick ups there guys. I have a fair few of the ones you have shown here and they are all amazing releases but you've also put me onto a few that I had not heard of (like Cut and Run and the Black Water films) so thanks for that. The Thin Red Line is an AWESOME film and one of my favorite war films. It manages to show both the brutality of war and man as well as show the deeper more contemplative/philosophical side and really just poetic the way large part of it are carried out and executed by Malick. He's such a great film maker and that Criterion edition is great. I really love his Criterion release of The New World as well. The Elephant Man is also great though I don't have that Criterion release, I ended up getting the Studio Canal collectors 4K edition which is cool. I need to research the special features to see if that Criterion has enough of a difference on it to warrant a double dip. Salo is certainly a ... notable film...hard to call it a GOOD film but I guess in some ways it is. That Criterion edition is really good though because it has lots of special features to help delve deeper into the film and context. The Nightingale is a great film and that Second Sight edition is really nice. Those guys are just knocking their releases out of the park at the moment. Good job securing Battles Without Honour and Humanity limited set. That's very hard to get now. I managed to get a second hand copy (though like new) not long after it went OOP on an eBay auction some years back for a pretty good price (not much above retail) which was cool but very hard to find for a good price now. Going easy on the physical media purchasing eh? Famous last words I've used myself ... unsuccessfully... many a time!
Hey Darren! No worries, glad we could put some movies on your radar (and hope you enjoy them haha). I still need to check out Cut and Run myself but I did end up seeing Jungle Holocaust and it was okay. Pretty in line with what I expected from the cannibal genre but I prefer a lot of the other ones I've seen. Hoping to get around to The Thin Red Line soon as well, I was already sold on it but you've made me even more keen haha. I'll be keeping an eye out for The New World as well since I've heard great things about it. And definitely agree, Second Sight have been doing amazingly recently and we hope to get some of their other editions sometime soon. Good job as well finding that set second hand, getting it not much above retail is an excellent deal. Cheers for watching for the great comment mate!
Welcome back, guys, and fantastic haul here! Don't feel bad about not watching certain horror "classics," like Prowler or My Bloody Valentine. There are plenty of classics that I've even had on my shelves for years that are still sealed! Hahah we'll get to them eventually.
Great collection videos you too! some amazing titles in here! Hope matt you enjoy the Urban Legends films ahaha! also congrats on the engagement! Really excited to see the new arrow collection video!! great vdieo as always!
Hey mate! I did end up enjoying Urban Legends haha they were a fun time (I find those late 90s, early 2000s slashers very nostalgic). And cheers for that, we really appreciate it! Thanks so much for watching mate :)
So many amazing pickups guys 👍 loving the backdrop, I found my eyes scanning your shelves. The first Urban Legend film is amazing, I'm sure Matt will enjoy it. I just got Lizard in a Women's Skin too, aha because I Iove Fulci but not gotten around to watching yet. Cheers guys!
Hey Sam! Glad you like the backdrop, we were so keen to get this into frame for our videos haha. I've watched Urban Legend since posting this video and as expected it was a lot of good, 90s fun haha. Still need to check out Lizard in a Woman's Skin though! Cheers for watching mate :)
Really nice pick ups, something from every end of the spectrum there. Just picked up the Bong Joon Ho Collection here in the UK. Nice presentation, great movies, a bit lacking in the special feature department but a nice set all the same. I must admit that Salo didnt affect me, not being macho, happy to admit plenty of films have affected me but Salo wasnt one of them. Perfect Blue sat in my collection for a year or so before I got round to watching it and it blew me away, I absolutely loved it, had me hooked 30 seconds in. And dont feel bad for not seeing a particular classic, we all have those odd little gaps here and there. Look forward to seeing the Arrow collection vid. Stay well guys.
Thanks a lot mate! Thanks for the info on the Bong Joon Ho collection, while it does look good, we might just wait for more individual releases of his films to come out. Interesting point about Salo, some of the extreme films just don't hit you as hard as you think they will, I had built up A Serbian film in my head as being super disturbing but it didn't really emotionally affect me. I had never seen a film like Perfect Blue before, it's amazing. Thanks so much for watching too, the Arrow collection video will be up soon. Take care!
Awesome pick ups. Salo is a rough movie, I've seen it twice, thsts enough for me. My urban legend boxet arrived yesterday, im just about to sit down ans watch part 1 with my kebab and chips, have a an awesome night guys
Hey Martin! Yeah I do recall Salo being a tough watch for sure, we'll see how I fare with it this time around haha. Hope you enjoy the Urban Legends boxset! I've seen the first two so far with Sarah and while I wasn't a huge fan, they're definitely a fun watch and are reminiscent of that 90s horror feel. Hope your kebab was good haha!
@@amateurfilmies8844 i really enjoyed the 3rd urban legend movie, cracking bit of cheese. You know mate I can appreciate salo as an example of Well made extreme cinema
Very nice movies. A couple movies I was wondering if you have are from Arrow Video - Audition and from Second Sight - Raw. Those two movies are awesome.
Hey Michael! Yeah mate we have both movies from those companies. Audition is an amazing film and definitely in my top 5 from Takashi Miike (one of my all time favourite directors). And we recently got Raw in the mail after we filmed this video. It's a beautiful edition and Sarah and I both really like the movie so it'll be great to see it again on this disc. Cheers for watching mate, we both really appreciate it!
I love Hard Eight. Wow amazing clowny prop!!! I have that movie staring right at me lol. The blu Ray. Gonna rewatch it for the first time in years. Awesome gift! Gonna put Klute on my rewatch list. Gonna check out Opera. I love Tenebre and Deep Red. I love Fulci, but the sound design always annoys me. I get the feeling he films silently to save money. Same thing with Demons. I watched Body Melt yesterday! Awesome Aussie movie! 🔥🔥🔥🎥📽🎞
Hey mate! Sorry I missed your comment - Hope you enjoyed rewatching Killer Klowns, it's such fun haha. And as for filming silently, it's actually a weirdly common practice in Italy (I think possibly even to this day) to record silent and add audio in post production. I vaguely remember it possibly being due to the fact that they have noisy film sets. I could be wrong though, it's been a while since I researched that! Awesome to hear that you liked Body Melt, it's such an odd film haha. I should probably rewatch that one soon too. Thanks a lot for watching mate!
Awesome Haul! That’s a really Cool Killer Klowns Prop. You guys are in for a treat with The Prowler an excellent slasher. My Bloody Valentine is in My Top 5 Slashers of all time. Return of The Living 2 is My Favorite out of The Franchise. Argento’s Opera is so Good! I need to Pickup that Criterion Edition of Easy Rider. The Nightingale is a Film I need to watch. I’ve only seen The First Urban Legend. I need to check out the Sequels.I enjoyed the Video and Take Care!👍
Thanks man! Glad to hear that you hold both The Prowler and My Bloody Valentine in high regard, we're both really looking forward to watching those. Also awesome to hear that you like Return of the Living Dead 2 as well, it's certainly underrated. Definitely check out The Nightingale, it's intense but a totally worthwhile watch! Cheers for watching mate :)
Just found your channel and love it. Keep up the good work. Respect from England ✌️ by the way, your both so natural in front of the camera. Makes a change from shouty show offs 😂🤣🤭 Keep on keeping on ✌️
Amazing pickups, my friends! I'm liking the diversity of the lineup, I'm eyeing that BFI of Herzog. Funnily enough, I just recieved my copy of Aguirre (which I've not seen). But I could talk all day about each of the films you've picked up, so I'll just say you've added to my never-ending cart haha! Cheers and congrats once again on the engagement 🎉🥂
Hey Nathan! Yeah we were lucky enough to get the BFI set of Herzog at a decent price (decent price drop on Amazon at the time). I'm curious about what you'll think about Aguirre, it's a unique film and has definitely made me glad I took the chance on the boxset so I can check out his other works so hopefully you end up feeling the same! Thanks so much for watching and for the congrats! Cheers mate 😊
Amazing haul guys! If you love Parasite, please pick-up 'Memories of Murder' from the Criterion collection - by far his best film in my opinion. You won't be disappointed I promise.
Hey Edward! We'll 100% be getting Memories of Murder from the Criterion Collection, we both love that movie a lot and are just waiting for it to drop a little bit in price before we import it to Australia 😊 It's definitely a contender for one of my personal favourites from him as well. Cheers for watching mate!
Will be adding Tokyo Godfathers to the list, will definitely be interested in checking it out since we loved Perfect Blue so much. And thanks for the recommendation on New World, I'm always on the lookout for more Asian gangster films so cheers!
Really interested in Perfect Blue, its a film i have heard of before but totally forgot about, the original My blood valentine scared me back in the day, i hope you enjoy that one, not heard of those Return of the living dead sequels myself lol, only thought there was three, Nightingale is a fantastic movie and i thought the main actress was fantastic in it, thanks guys.
Perferct Blue is a masterpiece in my opinion, it surprised me at every turn. Consider yourself lucky that you haven't heard of or seen these sequels, they are terrible lol. Nightingale is such a brilliant and disturbing watch, I hope we see more from Aisling Franciosi. Thanks a lot for watching :)
Great to see you back. Some great pick ups there. Really interested in the Dead Zone release, one of my favourite King adaptations. Is Imprint an Australian company?
Hey Mark! Yeah Imprint is a boutique company from Australia, they've made a decently big impact over the last few months. Their catalog is quite diverse and while not all of their releases are of personal interest to me, they have enough of a range that I usually am interested in at least 1 or 2 titles every time they announce a new batch of releases. I've heard from others outside of Australia that they can be quite expensive to import but I'm pretty sure you can order them direct, from JB HI FI or Amazon. Cheers mate 😊
Honestly it's hard to keep track of, they've been around for a while. Though at the same time, they don't have as many as some of the other companies. I think they're definitely increasing the frequency at which they release boxsets though. And we have done a steelbook collection video! It was one of our first so we're a little rusty and our video quality isn't as good but here you go! ruclips.net/video/9ZEeNyVDCdg/видео.html . Obviously we've added a decent amount since that time, so maybe we'll do an updated video in the future!

I watched Saló a few nights ago - it was the most gruelling movie I’ve ever experienced. I’m still reeling from it but am hoping to do an analytical review of it soon as I find the political/social analogies quite fascinating. Great video, guys. Nice to see you back 👍
I'll definitely keep an eye out for that video as I'd love to hear what you have to say about it. I certainly do remember it being extremely disturbing but we'll see if I glean more from it this time around when I see it again after so many years. Thanks so much for watching mate, glad to be back!

Love both, especially Graveyards as Takashi Miike is one my all time favourite directors (Matt here haha). I love the Tartan films, that line has introduced me to a lot of great Asian cinema.
