    I like the way you talk about what your doing, you don't let hard thing get you down, you try until you get the job done. I like that. Keep up the good work. Some time I go get a cup of coffee and think about my problem. it work for me.

    Next week the fan belt will break and you get to do it all over again. Did I mention that I hate pumps that drive off the front of the crankshaft? One could have pulled the hydraulic off of a 1650 and replaced the pump quicker and easier than that front pump. Use that oil with a little diesel fuel mixed in it and mop your trailer decks every year or 2.
    Keep the videos coming. Remember, JD charges you dearly for Deere parts, but coming home and saying "Hi Honey, I am home will cost a whole lot more.

  • @dwalke26
    @dwalke26 3 месяца назад +1

    I’ve done it both ways, and the radiator being out is easier, but dang that adds more possibilities for added sadness, and then you begin to feel obligated to spend more money doing other maintenance items while it’s apart, like water pump, v-belt, thermostat, etc… all because you can do it all while it’s apart 😂 The best thing Deere did was moving the hydraulic pump to the side of the engine, and having it gear driven off the engine on the 5000 series, eliminating all of this sadness

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  3 месяца назад +1

      Exactly. Once that radiator is out the parts list gets longer 🤣

    It's clear to me that the engineers who design many tractors never had to work on them. That should be a requirement. If so, I think a lot of tractors would be designed differently.

  • @danw6014

    You may want to change oil more frequently. The brake linings should be good for 6000 plus hours of service. Deere service interval at least on the 4020 is annual or 1000 hours.

    Another project off the list. Not a fun job to say the least getting into the coupling. Had to work on a Deere 2640 once...had similar issues getting into things just to get the radiator off. I've always thought that engineers/designers ought to have to work on their "pipe dreams" and endure moments of sadness!!!
