Hi Omega Great channel!! Am a new subbie. Am at the beginning of my transition journey from UK to USA . UK trained- qualified 2010. My university no longer has my placement documentation or module info- Just my transcripts plus theory and practice hours on a spreadsheet. I also don’t know how it works if you want to become a citizen. I know how it works here and the opportunities are endless. Explore online forum with Nurses who have migrated to Australia. You need at least 2 years of experience. After 1 year some agency will let you start the process as it takes about 2 years for the whole process. Explore the agencies. I have the option to either go to uni in the u.s or in the uk for nursing. The only issue is that the u.s is alot of money and i am having some trouble getting a loan. What would you recommend?
I would say go in the US. Yes it cost money but there are alternative such as starting at a community Collegue and then transfer to university in the final year. The UK is the cheaper option, but if you want to work in the US make sure your uk university offers an international module that would enable working in the US once you are finish.

Yes it’s totally different here. And different in each hospital and across speciality. For example when I was I. med surg most things were physician led and then in The ICU I have a lot more autonomy. In comparison to the UK, it depends on where you worked. When I was in Cardiac in UK I had some orders that I could carry out and the doctor would sign afterward for example . I could administer Atropine and I could even give shocks during a Cardiac arrest and push fluids. Here the doctor has to give you the order all the time, there is something call verbal order and then there are written orders that the doctor writes upon admission , you follow those orders and call the doctor for anything else.
